I still like french fries, but I'm not longer OBSESSED with them. I find I am satisfied with 1-3 fries off my friends plate to give me a taste. As for burgers, I'd much rather make a burger at home. so much more flavor and the quality is way better. I love bison and buffalo burgers with a slice of quality cheese and a few…

I know Alton Brown has a recipe for homemade protein bars but I have never attempted to make them. If you experiment let us know how they turn out!

I also seem to gravitate towards eating more in the evenings. I find if I eat larger meals during the day I almost always go over my calories in the evenings. I do have a breakfast protein shake in the morning, so I am not starving myself during the day. most of the time a lighter lunch and a healthy snack. dinner is…

Anbrdr - I am just over 10 months out. My nut has wanted me to eat between 1200 at the lowest, to 1500 since about 9 months out. I find it challenging some days to eat that amount without adding junk. My weight loss has also slowed down to a crawl. I have been experimenting with eating lower calories 1100-1300 and it seems…

Rant Having no food aversions. I can drink carbonation (slowly, i just burp more), I tolerate bread and sugar without dumping. While the surgery has lowered my capacity for large quantities of food I still have to rely on willpower to make good/nutritious food choices. Somedays I would rather have dumping syndrome so it is…

Other then filling me up too fast I have not had a problem with bread. This is both a blessing and a curse. If I have to eat something on the go that has bread I normally just eat the protein or vegetable innards and maybe have 1 or 2 bites of the bread portion. I still struggle with the idea of "wasting" food, but I…

my Dec goals strength training: 3x week cardio: 30+ min a day 6x week (this includes walking) Weight loss: -6 lbs (or more I have 30lbs left to goal) track my food everyday on MFP (probably my toughest goal)

I've been debating doing this as well. I am 10 months out and my weight loss has slowed to a frustrating crawl. I've lost about 5 lbs in the last 2 months. I have about 30lbs left to lose but no matter what I've tried (eating more/less/exercise more, etc) it doesn't seem to want to budge. I want to be at 100 lbs lost for my…

Well, its been a week. here's how I did. Food - I did better, especially at work, at avoiding excess sugar and strait carbs on their own. On the weekend I relaxed a little bit and had a candy bar, some smartfood popcorn and a homemade cinnamon roll. I kept within or very close to my protein and calorie goals. Exercise - I…

I regret not having this surgery when I was a lot younger but other then that no regrets. I am 9 months out from vsg and down 66lbs from surgery and 80lbs from my highest recorded. I am able to eat pretty normal now except for my potion sizes are still small when I eat correctly (protein first, etc). I didn't get dumping…

Its SO easy to let the bad stuff in especially at work. there were doughnuts left over from a meeting and my immediate knee jerk reaction was to go snag one. But on the way to the kitchen I decided its time to eat lunch instead. 3 oz lunch meat, a cheese stick and a mini apple and I am full. I brought raw veggies for an…

I am 9 months out and my calories are at around 1500 as recommended by my nut.

yeah it works better if you add the powder to liquids under 110 deg. I add milk to my coffee, then the powder, then I'll carefully microwave the final mixture to almost hot. Or you can be mix the protein and milk and use that as a creamer.

it takes 3500 calories to gain/lose a lb. its definitely water weight

I needed to read this today. Thanks Thaeda!

food scale, blender bottle for mixing shakes/protein powder, hard eyeglass case for carrying my protein bars in my purse so they don't get squished. My favorite "tool" so far has actually been my smartphone because I can log on MFP from it, track my steps, listen to music while exercising, read WLS forums, watch VSG…

I am also doing the c25k program. I am on week 3. I am finding myself looking forward to my workouts, something that never happened in the past!

a wonderful achievement!

I am at 6 months out and my nut wanted me to get in at least 1200 a day, up to 1500 was ok with her. Are you on a plan with no snacks? I find I eat about 4-6 times a day (including snacks) but I plan out healthy snacks most of the time, like 1/2 and apple and a handful of nuts, a cheese stick, etc. Some days its a…

I enjoy photos of me now, and I'm only halfway to goal. Shopping at thrift shops is fun now. I can find things that fit and are cute. (and cheap!) My energy is so much better, I don't get winded walking up a flight of stairs. I can cross my legs comfortably. I can sit indian style. What are those things!? oh! collarbones :D

I was cold for about the first 3-4 months during my rapid weight loss phase. now I think I've normalized as I am not longer freezing at 5 months out. I eat about 1300 calories a day and usually 80g protein or more.

What a difference. Great work

Thank you for everyones responses and support. I finally broke my stall and got out of my funk. I am getting in more fluids which I needed to do and planning better for timing my meals. It's still a struggle to fight bordom snacking but I am learning to recognize and combat it.

Thanks for the support all. I am feeling a little better after finally breaking my 2 week stall. I do feel real hunger and not head hunger. However, There are times I find myself reaching for food and have to stop and ask, am I hungry or is it something else? I am working on getting in more fluid in between meals and that…

I use MFP to keep me accountable for what I am eating. To make sure I am getting enough protein and to own up to where I might be eating off plan. I don't eat perfect but I do track everything I eat. If I am not losing I look at my diary. Did I really need to eat tortilla chips? Could I find healthier versions of what I've…

doing great!

I've been bad about getting in the recommended water and taking my vitamins everyday. this is a good reminder to get back on track. I did this for my health so I'd better take charge and do what I am supposed to.

Great job I can't wait for ONEderland myself.
