  • In my brief flirtation with Atkins, I made a "porridge" with double cream, ground almonds and ground flaxseed all microwaved together. I sometimes stirred an egg into the mixture for more protein, but this wouldn't be to everyone's tastes I'm guessing!
  • I'm doing primal/paleo, but keeping my carbs to 77g daily as Mark Sisson suggests. I don't find the US recipes/blogs difficult, though! There are very few ingredients that you can't get over here these days--only one that springs to mind is jimica or paleo brands like Steve's Paleo Originals or the weird koumbacha (sp?)…
  • I just make my own applesauce. The Coleman's stuff in jars has added sugar, and most US recipes (well, of the clean-eating or primal/'paleo variety) call for unsweetened. I just chunk up a bag of apples (skin and seeds left on, as I'm lazy). add a splash of water and a cinnamon stick or a few cloves, and cook, covered,…
  • She's more active on FB and twitter at the moment, but I do love JAG's (JustAGirl's) Fitness Blog http://www.jagsfitnessblog.com/
  • Feel free to add me. I'm in Bristol and logging daily with lots still to lose.
  • At the moment I'm doing the same thing at each gym session; I'm hoping to add in an exercise class now and again. Bike 12 mins Treadmill 15 mins (2.5% incline, 4.8 kmph) Arm bike 10 mins Cross trainer 8 mins Wave 8 mins Chest press 3x10 sets, 20kg Low row 3x10 sets, 22.5kg Lat pull-down 3x10 sets, 25kg Step-ups on 9" step…
  • Checking in from Bristol! Feel free to add :) (There are loads more of us than I thought!!)
  • Ladies, you all look wonderful!! Thank-you for giving me hope that one day my belly can look good again.
  • I've been primal for a year or so. Starting to get interested in intermittent fasting, now, too. Feel free to add me.
  • Such a helpful topic! I've been suffering with dreadful dry skin this Winter, it's even sloughing off me when I turn over in bed at night. Delightful, huh? I'm going to try almond oil and up my consumption of coconut oil.
  • Bristol girl here, feel free to add me!
  • Hi Sally Ann. I think it very much depends on what steroid dose you're on and what sort of diet you choose. I'm still taking a low-ish dose of prednisolone (15mg) and managing to lose with a lower carb primal diet. I aim for about 70g of carbs a day and have cut out processed foods, grains and legumes. (Still trying to cut…
  • Yeah... still taking the horrid things. I'm on 15mg of prednisolone/day. Thanks so much for your lovely comments, everyone!!

  • Thank-you!! I just resized them. I didn't realise they were too big until it was too late :)
  • Zumba 2 truly is much, much better than the original game. I used to go to classes until they got totally oversubscribed (no way could I arrive 20 minutes early and queue for a chance to get into the class!) and zumba 2 works me as hard as a class did. I've actually burned more calories according to my HRM at home since…
  • This gives me SO much hope! I'm a little bigger than your before pic, and have noticed some shrinkage from my own personal starting point, but never believed that it could all go away. I do now!! You look amazing! Well done xx
  • Fage, or Total for those in Europe, is awesome. I like it plain or with a drizzle of honey/sugar-free jam/nut butter mixed in. When I was doing Weight Watchers, I used to use it in my moussaka topping to cut down on the amount of cheese needed and it was really, really good. But! The best use for Greek yoghurt is in food…
  • Feel free to add me! I have 110lb still to lose, but my current goal is to lose 50 by my brother's wedding in September. Need to keep motivation high and stress low so that I can accomplish this!
  • I started at 285lb (20st 5 to us Brits!) in October and am now 258 (18st 6). Goal weight is around 145lb, but I suspect I'd look overly thin at that weight, so we'll see when I get closer. I'm doing primal and it is just magical as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't say weight was falling off, but I am losing every week and…
  • You don't need to be tremendously coordinated. The songs are usually very repetitive so by the end of each song you should be feeling more confident with it. And when the song comes around again next week you'll feel *really* confident and far more coordinated. I'd take a couple of classes before buying a game or DVD set.…
  • Feel free to add me! More inspiration is always good.
  • Wow! That is an incredible transformation in six months! Congratulations, you look wonderful. I really must re-read the Primal Fitness guide and see where I can improve with exercise. I am loving the food but am still on the sedentary side when it comes to exercise.
  • I got some for Christmas and so far I've tried them in Pad Thai where they were fantastic. I was really impressed especially after having opened the pouch to that dreadful fishy stink. I'm going to try my local Oriental supermarket and see if I can find them there as they are hideously expensive. But oh-so worth it for a…
  • I was just wondering if there were any other primal/paleo people using MFP! How timely. I have dreadful portion control so I will be wedded to my kitchen scale and MFP for the foreseeable. I don't find it particularly restrictive and I don't worry if I'm a little above my calories on occasion. I mainly want to make sure my…
  • Hello, everyone! I'm so pleased to discover a UK thread here! I'm Ang, and I joined MFP on Monday to rack my calories for the Rosemary Conley Amazing Inch Plan. I'm doing it at home since there aren't any classes that I can make it to. I've previously lost weight with Weight Watchers which I loved until they changed to…
