  • If you're waiting for marriage, you shouldn't be sharing a bed. Stop having sleep overs. You're only tempting each other.
  • pleased to say we have no outstanding debt except our car payment :) 1) Buy a new house with my dream kitchen and a nerd cave for the husband 2) Buy a horse or two, some dogs, and necessary care equipment 3) Put the rest into savings and live off the interest.
  • try to know in advance where you are going so you can plan ahead and earn the necessary calories for your chosen dish. Many restaurants have their menu & nutritional information online these days, so it's easy to plan.
  • Personally I'd go whole hog on the hot dogs, minus the buns, but I'm a low carber, so my idea of healthy may be different than yours. If there's a veggie platter, knock yourself out on that too, and lots of ice water :)
  • MFP sets ratios super low & whacky. You should aim to eat .75 - 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass. I aim for a minimum of 100g daily of protein. If you click the home tab, you can change your ratios by going into goals and doing custom settings.
  • as long as you avoid legumes, grains, and soy you could definitely be vegetarian Primal. Primal encourages full fat dairy (Greek yogurt, raw milk, good quality cheese, etc). Paleo discourages dairy.
  • if you're a purist vegetarian (or vegan), eating completely clean-- no processed foods (bread falls into processed food imo since we buy it at the store), then news flash: you're already paleo. Go cold turkey on the grains & you're golden. Dairy is not paleo, btw. If you include dairy, you're Primal.
  • Hardcore food porn. Shame on you for posting such filth. I WANT IT!
  • Oregon Chai, Republic of Tea, Numi, and Zhena's Gypsy Tea all make herbal, caffeine-free versions of chai. Delish!
  • Isopure Zero is super smooth and tasty.
  • Camelback makes a hydration vest that is pretty nifty, but the sizes run small, so make sure you get a size bigger than you normally take. http://www.amazon.com/Camelbak-VeloBak-Wearable-Hydration-Graphite/dp/B002NZSRDM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342538332&sr=8-1&keywords=camelbak+hydration+shirt For 5ks, I don't carry fluid.…
  • I started staying in my calories right away. I made a game of it, trying to see how many cals I could come in under by. Eventually I learned to make smarter food choices and get more bang for my caloric buck. It doesn't get easier. If it was easy, everyone would be at their goal weight. You have to want it though.
  • Obviously go run a 5k race, then start the Highway to 10k program, work up to half marathon, and then marathon. Just look on iTunes for the podcasts
  • You can't spot reduce, but you can get the muscles toned underneath while you burn that fat. A really good one is running on tip toe on a treadmill at an incline. Not fast, mind you, just enough to make you huff and puff.
  • best bet: increase healthy fats & protein. If you can find Kalona Supernatural they make a grass fed heavy cream that's really yummy. I always add it to my morning smoothie. It packs on an extra 400 cals, and keeps me full a loooooong time. Avocados, coconut, and cheese are good options too. Feel free to check out my…
  • Same. Just scored my second pair of komodos today. The guy at the running store was giggling cuz I was making audible love noises as I slipped them on.
  • homemade mayo is a thing of beauty. Healthy fat & good protein (also it takes 5 mins to make, and you can make it flavorful by adding your favorite spices-- like chipotle mayo, mmmm). Personally I prefer to skip the bread altogether and just get it wrapped in lettuce like Jimmy John's unwich. Bread itself is empty cals.
  • I'm almost 30 and primarily read YA. You're never too old to read a good book :)
  • GAME OF THRONES! It's pretty freaking fantastic. Each book is an epic 800-1000 pages. Oh and "Let's Pretend This Never Happened" by Jenni Lawson. Her blog is gut-busting hilarious so her book should be quite the romp.
  • This. I think anyone who can't eat 2000 cals is a pansy. On the days I have a hard workout, my breakfast is sometimes 1400 cals. Call me when you leave mamby pamby land. *tease*
  • Better Whey Of Life, Fage Total (full fat, not 2%), Chobani, Greek Gods-- in that order.
  • Since you're vegetarian, I highly recommend Sun Warrior Warrior Blend Raw Protein powder. It's a little gritty, but it's pretty clean as far as calories go. I try to avoid soy, and not sure if you're on board with eggs or whey. Jay Robb makes pretty tasty versions of the latter.
  • happy consumer of grass fed cream, raw milk, and full fat cottage cheese over here! :)
  • I'm Primal and sometimes paleo :) (or try to be. Pregnant & some days are harder than others to eat right. Bacon aversion? Right here *unhappy sigh*)
  • Did you seriously just have that sweet baby in your avatar & you're only eating 900 cals? If you're breast feeding, you need at least 500 cals. Then you need another 1200 to sustain yourself to take care of that baby. You need to be eating double that 900 cals.
  • The only time I don't swallow is if the food is vile. In the words of Anton Ego from Ratatouille: "I don't like food - I love it! And if I don't love it, I don't swallow." start swallowing your food or plan ahead better. It's a bad habit to pick up that could lead to serious health issues.
  • People always think Paleo is low carb. It's not. It's just good old fashioned clean eating. It tends to be reduced carb because you cut out all the crap food & filler. That's all. You can go low fat, high carb through paleo. If you did it that way, you'd be eating lots of lean protein, veggies, and fruit.
  • I get frustrated with those of you who complain about eating above 1200 cals. Whine to me when you are an Olympian and have to eat 3000+ calories a day to maintain your weight, lol. 1700 is not hard if you fill it with protein and good fats. The last time I worked out really hard, I had 1500 cals for breakfast. Call me…
  • Your body needs 3 basic macros to function-- fat, carbs, and protein. Sufficient protein helps keep your body from cannibalizing itself. Carbs are the body's quickest form of energy and can be turned into fat if not used fast enough (hence why one of the reasons so many people prefer a low carb life style). Healthy fat can…
