I don't understand the dilemma. Why is the time you eat lunch important?
-
What is your goal? I am not sure what you are wanting an opinion on..... Seriously, you're opening the door to the whole eat this, not that debate. You're under on calories and you had plenty of protein. In my book, that's all I shoot for. So A+ from me. I am not going to tell you to eat more or less of anything, or drink…

It just varies for me. Sometimes I will lose a couple weeks in a row, sometimes I won't lose for 4 to 6 weeks. But I lift weights, heavy and regular so I often will see changes in body composition before I see the scale move. I'm ok with that. If I don't lose after 6 weeks, I will take a diet break (eat at maintenance) and…

When I plug in your numbers, I get 2077 bmr, and 3220 TDEE based on a moderate activity level. If you are using the TDEE method, you don't add your exercise calories back in. They are already figured in. The 1800 is still too low. I still stand by my previous statement. I bet you can eat at 2100 per day and lose pretty…

Just get healthier snacks. Two of my favorites are dill pickles and green apples with salt. Yeah, it's a lot of sodium, but I don't have high blood pressure or anything so I don't worry about water weight gain. It's easy enough to lose and the salt hits the same spot that sweets do for me.

No more than once a week. Make sure to measure as well. Often this a more accurate form of measuring progress than weighing yourself. Mornings seem to be the most consistent time (or right after you get up). Just pick a day and weigh that same day and time every week.
-
By the way, If I use a calculator setting of "lightly active" it works out pretty close for me. I would bet just about anything you want that if you eat at around 2100 a day, you will lose pretty consistently. You are definitely not eating enough for a guy your size. Oh, also occasionally I will plateau, and when I do, I…

I just set my MFP to my max and make sure I eat between that and my bmr. Your max appears to be 3100'ish? That's probably fairly close. We are similar size. I am 6'5" and 222 pounds my bmr (doctor tested is 2050) so that was pretty damned close to every calculator I used online. My suggested TDEE is around 2900 and my…

It is both lifting and cardio when done correct. I think i used one of the workouts from bodybuilding.com. You will want about 5 exercises and you want to fail in the 8 to 10 rep range. You want to do the exercises with no rest between exercises and about a 2 minute rest after you have done all 5. Do 3 sets of the series…

^^^ All I worry about is protein as well.

Very few people actually need to use the "Sedentary" setting.
-
You will lose as long as you are at a deficit, be it created by diet or exercise. I assume that's what you were asking, since your question was "will i lose? ".

Same here. In fact , my only (small) complaint was that they didn't put int the orcs singing when they had the party trapped in the trees at the end. lol Definitely going to see it again. In 3d this time.

You are over-complicating it. Relax. I work a desk job and work out 3 days a week for about 45 minutes to an hour, so you are more active than I am. Just use a TDEE calculator and set your activity level as "Light" if you are that concerned (though you may be closer to "Moderate"). Take a 10% to 20% deduction and go for…

Thanks...people drive me crazy with that crap. "OMFG, you ate at McDonalds! That's why you aren't losing weight!" A calorie is a calorie when it comes to just weight loss. Now calories contain different macronutrients that the body needs for other things like body composition. BUT as far as just weight loss, a calorie is a…

5x5's are definitely harder on my body than the way I was lifting when I was trying to cut hard. The strength gains have been awesome though.
-
Yeah. I have to agree with you here. When eating this close to TDEE, there is very little room for play. Factor in things like venison stew, or venison chili, etc. and it is hard to figure exactly how many calories, etc are in it. I look at it like this....I'd rather be over on calories right now anyway than under since I…

I use calipers and I use the US Army method. Always measure once a week, first thing in the morning. Current % is right at 20%. That's the average of the two methods. I'm ex-military, so I know I am doing the Army measurements correctly.

I started with HIIT and Metabolic Resistance Training for a few months then went to 5x5s a few months ago. I definitely saw more fat loss with HIIT/Metabolic Training. But I have been able to put on weight while maintaining bf% doing 5x5s. I am getting ready to switch back to HIIT/Metabolic at the end of the month to start…

Ok, that makes sense. But what about that guy that ate all those Twinkies and lost like 30 pounds, dropped his BMI and most of his loss was bodyfat?
-
Really? If I eat the wrong type of foods, even at a calorie deficit, it can cause me to stop losing weight? Can you explain? I thought as long as my intake was less than what I burned, I would lose weight so long as I stayed above my Basal Metabolic Rate.
-
Listen to this....^^^^^^

If it really makes you want to give up and eat, stay off the scale. Why would you not just wait until the morning to see if there was a difference?
-
wow......NO...... Depend on what type of exercise you do. I take a week or so off every couple of months. I mostly lift weights. I usually come back stronger after a short break. Let's my body recoup really well. And your body isn't going to decide to start burning muscle instead of fat in a week. That is…

lol. Since you didn't specify a time period, I am about to embark on a total junk food diet for e a couple of weeks. You better pony up.....

Very informative video. I am in the middle of watching it right now, but wanted to say thanks for posting!
-
Very true. I have been eating at a mild deficit and doing 5x5's for a while now and my bf% is much lower. Problem is, my stomach and lower back is the LAST place the fat wants to come off! lol I am in a smaller shirt size and I have dropped some off my waist as well. Just not multiple sizes.
