I'm not a massive fan of Christian music (being a non believer and such) but there are some decent Christian Rock bands. Skillet has already been mentioned but bands like Switchfoot (especially their songs Afterlife and Dark Horses) and Relient K have some good and upbeat tunes to work out to

Well done on starting the journey again! Remember slow and steady is the way to go to lose weight and keep it off :) Remember to also track your fitness and body composition too. Sometimes just because those scales don't move doesn't mean we are not improving!

I tend to do weekly weighing at the same time of day and on the same day each week. Although I usually only graph and examine weight changes every 4 weeks. I almost solely use bodyweight exercises. The idea of lifting heavy is to get stronger by forcing your muscles to contract maximally and you also get your heart rate up. Pullups, Inverted Rows, Bent Over Rows, Handstand Pushups and Wide Hand Pushups. You will not only look good but also be strong!

As someone completing many 1/2 marathons, 1/2 ironmans and a full ironman what generally worked for me was doing 2-3 short and heavy strength sessions each week and making sure I ate at my maintenance + exercise calories. This is probably good practice in general to help your recovery between training sessions
