I started last Thursday and am down 3 lbs. The SBD book states that u will loose 8-12 lbs the first week, but I think that depends on your starting weight too.

Try the south beach diet book. The first two weeks your carb intake is very restricted. After the two weeks, u slowly start to introduce healthier carbs ( fruits, whole wheat pasta, etc) back into your diet. Good luck:)
