We use to do our yearly tests for our Grandmaster outdoors I loved it...was tricky though. Also very hot....layers of black in the hot July sun...still fun.

Sword and staff....it's my right hand so I'm screwed..LOL I've been resting all week, hopefully testing doesn't do me in...I'm hoping for a kicking test or something like that. I did post some video on my fb page...

Well I did compete last weekend...and didn't do as well as I could have or should have. The injury held me back and I was very disappointed...I practically gave Grand Champion away to a lady who I am better than. I did manage 4 medals...2 -3rds (weapons) a silver(technqiues) and a gold (forms) Our school had 5 grand…

IMO...700 cals/hour is quite high, unless you are a big person. I've worn my HRM in class, even a very vigorous class (and we do gymnastics too) was around 300 cals. I am a smaller person though too....less weight to move around. Each class can vary...I know when we test, that number is probably higher but our quarterly…

I do everything barefoot...it's not for everyone, but it does strengthen your feet.

Just turned 48 and proud of it! It's not as hard as it seems...you just have to have a proven workout program, clean diet and great support!

Don't think that hours of exercise is going to burn bodyfat off of you...you can't out exercise a bad diet.

I'm an experienced weightlifter,(and a CPT) more years than I care to admit here,LOL You will get great results with any of these programs, as long as you have proper nutrition as with any workout program...yes I have done and completed them all. I started with P90X and was on very good physical shape...although I had…

I try to make sure I have adequate protein to build my muscles. Lots of healthy fats to maintain proper brain and organ function, and non processed carbs. I eat when I am hungry...every 2-4 hours and as much as I feel I need at the time. It's different everyday, depending on my workout or recovery. Carbs and fat are not…

Congrats..Insanity is a great program and it's tough! Don't feel bad if you have to take breaks (you will) Listen to your body. Invest in a heart rate monitor to track your calorie burn. All in all, just follow the program and be sure to properly fuel your body...you are going to need it.

When I was younger I would not have...but now, I probably would. I'd love to show women that they can be sexy and fit regardless of their age.

Over training is very possible and I see it quite often. Paid athletes have the constant care of Drs, nutritionists, chefs, sports trained deep tissue masseuses and so on to make sure they are in tip top form. Many people here think they are going to burn off all the crappy food they eat or lose the bodyfat quickly....that…

"Skinny girls look good in clothes, fit girls look good naked!" My husband loves me at all sizes...he never thought I had to lose weight. That being said....he is AMAZED at my body now...I look like I did and even better than when we went back in the dark ages..haha

Challenging weights and proper nutrition to lose bodyfat...that's the way to get rid of "bingo wings" LOL I've never heard of that expression....my husband calls them Grandma arms...yes I hit him!

Thanks for this post..I was wondering this same thing. I guess when I go on vacation, a lot of my friends will be dumping me.

You really should do the yoga. It will help you work out the soreness and helps prevent injuries. If it's too long you can get away with doing the first half...or the free one on one yoga dvd you received..."Fountain of Youth Yoga" which is only about 40 minutes.

Surprisingly the first time I was injured in class was...a month ago when my partner jammed and broke my toe...and now this thumb. I've been lucky! So yeah I am entering in this thing with multiple owies.. Makes me wish it was postponed...so I could get better. Oh and get this...I have a big test the next weekend.…

When I am figuring a basic calorie amount for my clients I go by their WEIGHT and activity level. Then we tweak from there...according to how their body responds.

That does sound painful..I would definitely look into a good deep tissue massage. Also foam rolling helps alot.
