  • I've been on-and-off alcohol for the past week. I'll do well for couple of days and then I get tempted and have the wine. I can easily drink a bottle of chardonnay by myself and usually do. Staying away for couple of days is not that hard for me, but I would really like to quit for at least a month and see how that goes. I…
  • One day at a time. Happens to all of us. Start over tomorrow and good luck!
  • You rock, ladies! I didn't have any wine last night either and I'm feeling great this morning! It's sunny and gorgeous here today and I'm getting ready to go out for a very long walk with DH. We usually walk for about 2-3 hours and get about 13-15K steps in. Happy Saturday indeed! :)
  • I'm in the same boat. I had 3 glasses of chardonnay last night and I'm not happy with myself now. I too, will try it again today.
  • Thank you for insightful response, Julie. I agree, it's most likely a habit by now. I love exercising and will now try to add yoga in the evenings instead of having wine. Thank you! :)
  • I'm following this thread closely. I need to limit/cut my wine consumption considerably. For me it's no longer stress but possibly boredom. I have many interests and need to switch focus to those instead of wine consumption. No wine yesterday, will try no wine today. Appreciate reading everyone's posts.
  • There is no best and depends on your personal preference, the intensity or your strength training and what works for you. I prefer to do cardio before weights to completely warm up and loosen up my body/muscles before I lift weights.
  • I'm in the same boat. I'm quitting today. One day at the time. Wishing you luck!
  • Receiving "friend" invitation out of the blue from someone you've never heard of and never read or replied to their posts. Why?
  • Thank you for your reply. I am more advanced exerciser but BB had this on sale a month of so ago for $29.95 for basic set and I couldn't resist the price. It will come in handy when I want to take couple of weeks off to do something easier. Good luck to you re-starting the program and wishing you luck completing it.
  • Dog owners who don't pick up after their dog. Most if not all communities have ordinances in place that you MUST pick up after your dog. Don't pretend that you intend to do it while I'm watching you, and the minute I turn my back, you just leave the crap laying there on someone else's grass. GRRRRRR.......
  • Weighmeless said they're aiming at 400-500 calorie DEFICIT a day, not that they're eating 400-500 calorie a day.
  • Congrats! You're down 20lbs since September? Wow! I need to quit drinking and quit making excuses.
  • Truly inspirational! You're a proof of what can be achieved in 6 months with determination and hard work. Congratulations, well done!
  • I want to lose the weight to eliminate aches and pains that have appeared lately as my weight (and age) crept up. Aches are in my lower back and hips. I have 30 lbs to lose and I know weight loss, and consistent exercise which I already do will significantly help me with pain issues.
  • Thank you for your reply. Very interesting. My DH was recently diagnosed with diabetes and his doctor referred us to see an RD who recommended that in order to control his diabetes and to lose the weight, his daily carb intake should be 45-60 g of carbs per meal and he should eat 4 meals per day. That's 180-240 grams of…
  • Nice job! There is no magic bullet. CI/CO and persistence is what works in the long run.
  • I have pretty much always followed 16:8 eating formula, I just didn't know it had a name and that it became the latest craze...... Intermittent Fasting! LOL! :) The reason why the weight had finally caught up with me over my lifetime (30lbs to lose) it's that during the 8 hours I do eat, I don't watch what and how much I…
  • That's fantastic! Congrats on your 5 months of sobriety and the loss of 30 lbs. You are an inspiration to me. I want to start in November and will use your success as my motivation.
  • What does "low carb" mean to you? I mean, what's your approximate daily carb intake?
  • Nice job! You look great.
  • Find some space for yourself at home and work out there! You won't have to "make yourself" drive to the gym and you'll save a lot of time by doing that. There are tons of free workouts on youtube and you're sure to find something that will fit your goals.
  • Thank you for sharing your experiences here. I've only lost about 5 lbs from the date of my original post but my SI joint/lower back pain while still present, is much decreased. It may or may not be related to the little weight loss, but I've gone back to doing pilates most days of the week. I stream pilates from a fairly…
  • Thanks for everyone's input. I am motivated to lose 35 lbs and we'll see how that goes. In the meantime, I continue with my daily exercised to strengthen my core and improve flexibility. Over the summer I've focused on weight workout and have neglected stretching. I found out quickly that it's not a good idea. Thanks again!
  • Thank you very much for your replies. I hope that you continue to be pain-free because back ache is awful. This is exactly what I need to hear.
  • Thank you very much for your replies. You both understand exactly how debilitating back pain can be. My recent episode was the first ever of such intensity that I was basically immobile for 4 days. Never again! I'm going to focus on doing my exercises and will have to find my own motivation to lose the weight. Thank you…
  • Bravo! Congrats and keep at it!
  • If you only walk about 500 steps a day, try adding 50-100 extra steps each day. Before you know it, you'll be off the couch and enjoying challenging yourself to see how far you can go.
  • I'm officially starting today. We'll see how it goes.
