  • I just started for a tight IT band that started causing me significant lower back pain. It can be painful while I roll the tight spots, but I find an almost immediate relief after I'm done.
  • Good morning! I'm going to join in for November. I can relate to most of the posts here. I don't drink every day but I do have a bottle of white wine every other day. It's become a habit and it seems that I drink out of boredom. My goal for November is to have wine only once per week, either on Friday or Saturday. This…
  • Fantastic job! Lots of hard work went into this, so my wholehearted congrats to you!
  • Your Costco store has salesgirls? I've never seen one in any or our Costco stores in my area. Anyway, that unsolicited advice was definitely rude. Shouldn't have let it bother you but good for you for sticking with your diet.
  • Fantastic, inspiring post! I should follow your example. Physical transformation is also very impressive. Congrats!
  • Don't sweat it. If he really wants to try things again - for the right reasons, he'll accept you for who you are and not what you currently weigh.
  • Congrats! Well done and with a sensible approach!
  • I love it too, but I haven't been able to find dried mango covered with dark chocolate at either of my local Costo stores for the past 6months of so. The problem with Costco is, that the minute I find something I love, I can never find it again.
  • Still staying dry for January but I've had a very bad cold for the past few days, so no credit to me. I just haven't been tempted by wine or food for that matter. Congrats to those who are sticking to their resolution.
  • While I may have stumbled along the way, this January has been WAY drier for me than any previous one, or any other month of the year for that matter. He're we are at mid-month, and I've only had wine twice since the 1st! I am feeling great and plan to continue. I too feel that my workouts are better and I enjoy them more.…
  • Since New Year I lost 4 lbs just by staying dry, but with 1 stumble along the way 3 days ago. I've been eating my normal diet because I first wanted to eliminate wine to see how that alone affected my weight. I'm pretty happy with a 4 lb. loss in 13 days. I think I've gained new motivation to keep going! Day 3 today (had…
  • Day 2 for me today. I woke up early, had a nice workout and I'm feeling good right now. Life is good!
  • Unfortunately I had couple of glasses of wine last night. No reason why, other than I really a taste for a cold glass of chardonnay - or two. I'm not going to beat myself over it and enjoy the fact that I stayed dry for 7 days. Starting with day 1 again today.
  • On to day 7 today! I'm finding out that for me, at least so far, reaching for wine is just something to do in the evenings when I cook, watch TV etc. and not a physical need. As long as I occupy my mind in the evening and do something else in place of wine - the "witching hour" of 6-7pm passes, and I'm good. I don't…
  • No, I don't think I have a "serious drinking problem" but I'm not doing this for fun either. I think I've been drinking too much lately and it's time for me to take a month or so off. I need to lose about 30 lbs and find that drinking wine about 3 times per week (bottle each time) is sabotaging my weight loss. I'm not…
  • On to day 6 of dry January for me today! I'm feeling pretty good about it, but I'm by no means complacent. Temptation can strike at any time. How is everyone else doing?
  • Not a real weigh-in day for me, but I've been dry since 1/3 and I'm down exactly 2 lbs. Bloat, I'm guessing. The real proof will be when I weigh myself at the end of January.
  • Welcome! Late is better than never. I didn't start myself until 1/3. Today will be my day 5 without drinking. I know it's early in the day, but I think I'll make it. One day at a time.
  • 4 days in for me. I had some wine on the 3rd, but nothing since and I don't plan on having any for the rest of January. I'll re-evaluate it the first week of February. Hopefully I'll make it.
  • Good for you. Never give up!
  • This sounds really good to me. I'm looking forward to some results, even if it's just feeling better.
  • Provided nothing else changes, like needing to replace sugar from wine, with candy. Many people (myself included) have reported developing a sweet tooth and devouring a lot more sweets when abstaining from wine.
  • That's me! I eat a healthy diet but wine is my nemesis. I've gained quite a bit of weight because of overindulging in wine. Time to take action. I've got about 30-35lbs to lose. I'm in for January!
  • I quit 30+ years ago cold turkey and have never looked back. It can be done, you just need to be ready and committed to quit. Good luck, you can do it!
  • This. And then they write a check for their groceries after a lengthy search for their checkbook. Ugh.
  • Wow mike2g, congrats on fantastic results. You got this right!
  • WHAT?!? Who does that????
  • It it's Morton's Neuroma that you have, there isn't that much non-surgical that you can do to improve it. I've been diagnosed with it about 6-7 years ago, and I've had steroid shots between my 3rd/4th toe, I've worn metatarsal pads and nothing really helped. The reason why the pads didn't work for me was because I could…
  • That's an impressive weight loss! Congrats!
  • Is Annie's 30 day experiment free? If not, how much does she charge? I looked at her website but I can't tell. ***ETA*** I just found it, it's free. I'll think I'll join today. Congrats on 4 days AF.
