Sounds like a very sensible and doable plan. Cograts on your success! You have motivated me today! Thanks.

Jessica Smith channel. TONS of fun, motivating workouts and working out with Jessica is like working out with your best friend. She's pleasant, encouraging and definitely not a screamer.

How have you arrived at your daily carb allowance that's healthy for you? Have you worked with a dietary nutritionists or was it by yourselves and from the popular low-carb diet sites? Just curious.

Tons of free workouts on youtube. Find something you like, and do it. Start gradually and build on it. Personally, I LOVE exercising and have done it consistently my entire life. Pretty sure there is something out there you enjoy, and if you love it - it's not "exercise" - it's fun!

Congrats on your results! You look great. 80 Day Obsession Workout program requires hard work and dedication. Good for you!
-
You look terrific! Congratulations!

You're lucky to have found a trainer that actually has some credentials behind him and knows about training hard. Take advantage of it and follow his advice and program to a T, and you'll bound to show results by summer. Good luck to you!

I work out early morning around 6am or it doesn't get done. I have a dedicated workout room, so after a cup of coffee I go downstairs and just do it. I usually work out for about an hour. It's a habit nowadays.

Save money and invest a little more in good rebounder like Jumpsport or similar. Some of these go up to 300 lbs and over. It will be money well spent. The super cheap rebounders like the $20 Walmart one, is like jumping on concrete. Very hard on knees, hips and lower back. I would recommend that you choose bungee rebounder…

Loud, obnoxious and "in-your-face". It's not what I'm looking for in an instructors. She doesn't inspire or motivate me, but she works for others. As someone posted upthread, there are quite a few better instructors than Jillian out there.

Yes, you can! Congrats!
-
Fantastic! Thank you for letting me know and congrats on resisting the temptation to have the wine. It truly isn't worth it. :)
-
Good for you, Julie! You can do it. Take if from someone who succumbed to temptation last night - IT'S NOT WORTH IT for all the reasons you've listed as well as being dissapointed with oneself. Good luck! No wine for me tonight. I'm starting over.

Unfortunately I caved last night and had some wine. It wasn't worth it, and I'm disappointed with myself this morning. However, for some reason, I slept like a rock. I guess I'm back to day 1 today. I'm not giving up trying to quit. Congrats to those that are more successful than I am.

Well done! Again, congrats!

I'm not completely succeeding with "dry" January but I have cut back quite a bit, so that's a good thing. Incidentally, I'm going to Whole Foods today and will look for the tea. I'll also try drinking sparkling water. Good thing is that I'm staying on track with my exercise routine. One step at a time.
-
Great job! Looks like it can be done if you try hard. Thanks for the inspiration. Did you do anything other than track your food?

If I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep, I can always count on Smithsonian channel to have Aerial America on. It's a wonderful show, but not if you've seen EVERY EPISODE at least 50 times. Sadly, Smithsonian channel is not what it once was and the reruns are out of control. Helps me sleep…

I've been exercising consistently all my life, but for the remainder of January I've set up a schedule of specific workouts I want to do each morning. This rotation is pretty challenging and ambitious and the only way I can do it is if I don't have any wine the night before. I started with this schedule this morning and I…

I'm doing well tonight too. Hubby and I are watching a game and I'm not even tempted to have my usual wine. This is day 3 for me, and I'm thinking that maybe I can do this! My danger zone is 5-8pm but once it's past 8, the temptation is pretty much gone. Since I'm aware of it now, I plan to distract myself during this…

I'm in the same boat. I'm very disappointed with myself but I'm starting over today. Hang in there!

No wine yesterday, but I did drink on New Year's day. No wine on NYE. This seems to be a pattern for me. Drink every other day. Today will be the test as I'm sure I'll be tempted. I'm facing some of the same struggles as many of you here, but reading all the posts helps knowing that I'm not alone.

Good morning! No alcohol for me yesterday. I really wanted to start the New Year with clear head, energy and with sense of a new beginning. Wishing everyone Happy New Year and the best of luck to all - myself included!
-
I'm in! Thanks for starting this thread.
-
I agree. Rather than being this indefinite period of time, there is a beginning and the end where we get the chance to to start over. Hang in there @Westschmeis! Thanks, Julie, for starting the thread for January. I'm in.

This describes me exactly. I'm not very a very social person but when I socialize, I never drink any alcohol. No particular reason, just don't feel like it. I noticed however, that when I'm home alone just with my hubby, I like to relax, read, watch a good movie, have a good conversation and enjoy a bottle of wine - by…

Not worth it. The quality is no longer there.

No alcohol for me yesterday on Christmas Day, but I did have wine on Christmas Eve. I am going for no wine today. One day at a time. Good luck to all!
-
I'm definitely doing dry January, and will join the challenge. I had some wine yesterday and I'm not happy with myself now. I am more than ready to quit drinking for at least January. MaryBeth, congratulations and good luck! You're an inspiration to me. Julie, we can do this!

No wine yesterday and I'm feeling good this morning! Did some running around today and I will probably have some wine later since I'm meeting some friends in the evening. Next week will be busy with family get-togethers but I'm actually planning to completely eliminate alcohol starting on Sunday, Dec 31st. I want to wake…
