I'd attack it by planning for it. You know you want to eat/snack at that time, so have healthy things to eat. Air popped pop corn is crunchy, whole grain, and very low cal, and satisfies that need to just snack. Bite sized raw veggies that you like, whole grain crackers with no added sugars etc are good, too. Just plan for…

I frequently have cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast with shredded wheat cereal.

There is absolutely no reason to give up any food or food group. Eat a wide variety real/whole/clean foods and stay within your calories (yes, eat your exercise calories). You will lose weight and be healthier. No need to try the diet flavor of the week.

This actually really pisses me off. I am exactly the same person I was before. But NOW I'm worth talking to? How shallow are you? I chalked it up to the big ol' wedding ring for years, and the piling up of the birthdays, but now, all off a sudden, men are friendly and chatty. Pisses me off I tell you.

Almonds and whole grain crackers. My go-to when I need something quick, easy, healthy, and portable to hold me over.

My father, brother, and ex-husband all have walked around on ankles that they were absolutely sure were "just a sprain" to find out as much as two weeks later that they were actually broken legs. Only the doctor can tell for sure. Glad you are going.

Those kind of parties usually don't involve a meal, just snacks, so make sure you're not hungry going in. Keep a glass of water in you hand, and drink up. I also am a firm believer that it's easier to say no thanks than to stop.

I'm staying stong! Down another pound today! Personal motivation for me is getting healthy and feeling better (looking better sure helps, too!). Personal ability we all have, but the tool that really helped it all snap in to place for me was MFP. Being able to calculate how many calories I should eat, then being able to…

5'7" large frame, GW 145 size 10 US. Currently, 175 size 12. Started at 208 popping out of 14's.

That sounds like about a billion calories. But you are absolutely right , it's so much easier to look things up and plan ahead rather than try to make up for it later.

It's really not complicated. If you are not willing to consume fewer calories, your options are to burn them off (exercise more) or gain weight. Take your pick.

Look at what you would have to log if you drink it. Would you have calories left for dinner? Would it be worth it? I'm finding as time goes on, there are fewer and fewer treats or splurges that I really think are worth it.

Go ahead and cry. And don't beat yourself up about binging. It's one day. So sorry you lost your bracelet. There is still a chance it will be found.

Confession time... I only walked three miles. Just wasn't feeling the four miler today.

I work at the Zoo! I'm a bus driver/tour guide. And yes, it is an awesome job and an awesome place to work.

One cup. I just verified this last week. ( I was the only one home for dinner, so I weighed out 2 oz. of spaghetti, cooked it, then measured)

San Diego, California, where we have been having a very cold (for us!) couple of weeks. We've had a week or so where the high was in the mid 40's which is really unheard of for us. I know, a lot of you are laughing your heads off, but our houses are not built for this, and we certainly don't have the wardrobes for it. My…

Count me in the Stevia is disgusting group. To me, it doesn't taste sweet, just horrible. I try to eat clean as much as possible. So, I avoid artificial sweeteners. For coffee, I add just a touch of skim milk- enough to cool it down so I don't burn my tongue. Tea, I add a teaspoon of honey. When I occasionally eat sweets,…

Aiming for 145. I may adjust as I get closer.

Woo hoo! Had my re-check today! And I am in the normal range! 96! Thank you MFP!

Try to spread them throughout the day, but usually dinner (supper) is the biggest meal of the day.

Mine is open.

Just got back from a 75 minute walk with the dog. Feels good!

You are off to a good start! Good for you!

I finally feel like the holidays are behind me, and I'm back on track. Doing well eating-wise. I've had enough of a cold to make me feel a little run down and less like exercising, and it's been very cold by Southern CA standards, so I haven't been getting in as much exercise as I'd like, but as long as my eating is in…

In October, my fasting glucose was 101, just in to the pre-diabetic range. I go back next week for a recheck. I've lost another 15 pounds since then and I've been exercising pretty consistently. My doctor was confident that would be enough to get me back in to the normal range. I have noticed a big difference in my energy…

Congratulations!

Another walker here. The dog and I do 3 to 5 miles about 4 times a week. Sometimes I ride my bike (but the looks I get from the dog make me feel so guilty I don't do it too often). Due to a bad back and neck, and a questionable knee, walking is best for me.

I have a very cheap 9$7 at Target) manual scale, and I just bought a digital scale. I weigh exactly the same on both, interestingly enough. I bought the new digital scale only because the manual scale has a really small dial that is hard for my not so young anymore eyes to read even with my glasses on... The digital one…

I'm lactose intolerant and when I first figured it out I was freaked out about not being able to eat dairy. But I have learned that I can actually eat a lot of dairy if I am careful. Yogurt, cottage cheese and most cheeses that are solid at room temperature are no problem at all. Sour cream, liquid milk products, ice…
