  • Start with this. Go for a walk, get moving. Don't over think or over complicate. And don't worry about perfection. Eat less, move more and you will be making a start.
  • Just googled it... depending on the size of the burner, and the efficiency of your stove, it costs you 15 cents to 44 cents per hour. Really, don't stress.
  • Mine has decreased a lot. I'm hoping it continues to diminish as I continue to lose.
  • I'm 5'7" and weigh 170 and I eat about 1800 calories a day and I'm losing about a pound a week. My only exercise is walking for an hour or so four or five days a week. You need to eat more and eat your exercise calories- try it, you'll be surprised!
  • Call your doctor now! Don't wait! Also, get out of bed and go for a walk. Outside. Walk every day. The more you walk the better you feel. I promise. But seriously, call your doctor yesterday. You can do it- don't let the depression win. I have been there and I understand.

  • Um, hello, I'm hungry for EVERYTHING. ALL the TIME. That's what got me in to this mess in the first place. I've been doing this MFP thing for about 6 months. I have carefully logged pretty close to every single bite that has gone in to my mouth , and done a pretty decent job of eating healthy, well balanced foods. I have…
  • Medifast is designed so you eat their prepared meal replacements and one "lean and green" meal a day (basically, a salad and a lean protein that you prepare according to their strict guidelines. No added carbs, meaning zero alcohol. What you are asking for and what they offer are two different things entirely. My opinion-…
  • I'll probably be tracking and counting for a very long time. Maybe forever. i know that it's very easy to lose track of what I have actually eaten, and to think a little bit won't hurt, and I worked hard today and earned it. Pretty soon it adds up. That's why MFP works for me- I can objectively see what I'm consuming, and…
  • I've had blood sugar issues off and on over the years. Plan on eating a healthy snack between meals. Try to avoid going more than 3 or 4 hours without eating something. Eat mostly whole, real foods. Complex carbs- whole grains- help because they digest more slowly and the energy is released into your system over time…
  • I am at a point now where I can eat a little something sweet and stop, but when I first started here, it was much easier to say no thank you than to have just a little. One of the things i did was make a personal rule that I don't eat anything at work that I didn't bring (people are always bringing sweets to share). And I…
  • Still battling with a cold. Not a nasty one, just a lingering low grade I don't feel as good as I'd like one. But, continuing to slowly drop some pounds. I'm going to Las Vegas in March with for a convention, bought a cute little black dress to wear to a party one night while I'm there, and a pair of jeans that are just…
  • My face started slimming down really fast (yay for that!), so a few people, like my neighbor that I bump in to walking the dog, and a couple people from work noticed within about the first 10 or 15 pounds. My husband noticed at about 15 or 20 pounds. People I don't see often seem to notice more than people I see a lot. We…
  • You are a 15 year old male athlete. You are not overweight (unless you are super short, which I doubt- you play competitive basketball!). You are still growing. Work on strength to improve your jump, and concentrate on eating a well balanced diet to help you maintain strength, stamina, and growth.
  • I feel like the holidays are finally all the way over. We have four family birthdays between December 22 and Jan 20, so the festivities continue for a long time. I continued to lose, through December and January, which is a first for me and I am very proud of that, but I'm ready to get back to losing at the pace I was…
  • I like 'em with cottage cheese for breakfast.
  • Also, you are very close to your goal- within ten pound it looks like, according to your ticker. It's harder to lose weight when you are closer to your goal. How tall are you? You may be at a very healthy weight already.
  • Take the skin off the wings. 50 calories a wing, 7 grams protein.
  • Do you see a doctor about your depression? If not, go. And let them know not eating is one of your symptoms. Medication can make a huge difference, don't be afraid to try it. I was on medication for ten years for depression, and it made a world of difference for me.
  • If you feel weak and awful, go to bed. Carbs might give you a very short term boost, but what you really need is healthy consistency and rest. Stay home, sleep, drink plenty of fluids, eat healthy and within your calories. Once you're feeling better, add the gym back in.
  • 28 pounds in 14 weeks is exactly 2 pounds a week. That's just about right.
  • Three pounds a week is unrealistic after the first few weeks. Two pounds is more realistic, but not guaranteed. Without more information it's hard to advise.
  • Some of these have already been said... Wake up at the same time every day. Exercise. Limit caffeine, and not after noon. Bedroom is for sleeping and sex only. No electronics- TV, computer, phone with games, texts, etc. It should be very dark at night. Have a bedtime routine- start winding down about an hour before bed,…
  • No gym for me. Watching what I eat (and how much!) and walking is what I do.
  • Nothing to complain about- you are doing great! Keep it up!
  • I'm down another pound! I felt like that one really didn't want to let go, but when I look at my progress graph, it only took 8 days, which isn't bad when I'm aiming for a pound a week, and we had a birthday celebration for my husband and step dad in there, too. That's been an important lesson- don't get discouraged with…
  • You are well within the healthy weight range for your height. I am the same height and your current weight is below my goal. 112 is below the health range for 5'7". If you feel "chubby", i would recommend working on strengthening and toning, not losing any weight And no, you are clearly not eating enough. To the point…
  • We're going to some friends' for the game. Last time we were there, they had HORRIBLE food- nachos with that fake cheese stuff, little hot dogs in slimy sauce, you get the picture. We''re bring a huge veggie platter with hummus and another healthy bean dip my husband makes. Even if no one else eats any of it, I'll have…
  • Good! You're learning new ways.
  • Don't let the dreaded M-word be an excuse! In July, I saw some photos of me with a huge belly. Hated it! In August, I saw some more hideous photos of myself, and also saw a terribly high number on the scale. I'm 51, the mother of three. The first two were twins, then a 9 pounder. In thought my days of flat-ish stomach were…
  • OP, what did you find out? Feeling any better?
