Hey guys I have been dieting and working out for about two weeks now and have seen minimal results. I am eating around 1800 calories a day DISCLUDING exercise. So each day I usually end up eating around 2300-2500 calories. I am 15 years old and weigh 160 lbs. I also play basketball for a very competitive team and I am trying to lose 10 lbs to help improve my vertical from 24". The first week of dieting I lost about 5 lbs around my mid section and have ended up putting it back on somehow, even though I have not changed my diet. I usually drink around 6-7 liters of water per day, and also am on a lower and upper body weight training program. Why am I not losing weight? Is it possible that I just lost water weight/ or am gaining muscle from weight training? How can I get down close to 150 lbs?
P.S. I eat PLENTY of lean protein (From protein shakes, fish, chicken, so on) veggies, fruits, complex carbs and all that jaz.

You are a 15 year old male athlete. You are not overweight (unless you are super short, which I doubt- you play competitive basketball!). You are still growing.
Work on strength to improve your jump, and concentrate on eating a well balanced diet to help you maintain strength, stamina, and growth.0
