  • OMG is right! Horrifying! I don't eat out much any more, but this just really drives the point home.
  • Great job!
  • Maybe you could buy a new pair of pants or two to wear temporarily until the old ones fit? Check a resale shop so you don't have to spend a ton on pants you will be out of soon. "A few pounds" in "a couple weeks" may or may not be doable, depending on what a few pounds and a couple weeks really mean. You're doing great so…
  • Okay, just did this for the last two months. I thought MFP's estimate was low, based on the rate at which I have been losing weight. My TDEE is 2412- even higher than I thought! So, to lose at a pound a week (deficit of 500 cals a day), I can eat 1912 a day. Wow! No wonder I've been so hungry on 1540 calories. So if I…
  • If this is a regular schedule, I'd just work out the calories for Friday through Monday, and spread them out fairly evenly throughout that time, so you are never going more than a few hours without eating something that fits your plan.
  • Yes, drinking water will flush the sodium right out of your system (pun intended!). Drink several extra glasses and it should be a non-issue. And the bologna and mac and cheese have tremendous amounts of sodium as well, btw. Lots and lots of water. Do the best you can with what you have on hand until you can get to the…
  • This is very cool. I'll take some time to do this today. I am curious!
  • I have a really cheap bathroom scale ($7 at Target- yes, I said cheap!) but it is very consistent, and I weigh the same at home as I do at the Doctor's office- first time in my life that's been true! But a couple of times, when I was feeling heavy, I have been surprised by the low number, and hoped off and on a couple…
  • I'm going to exercise extra before and after, but eat what I want on the day. It's one day out of the year, and I know I won't eat as much as I have in years past.
  • I love reading all these! My NSV for today is I have hip bones! They are still there, and I can see them! There's still plenty of belly, but my hip bones are coming back.
  • Weigh and measure everything. Log your meal BEFORE you eat it, so you know what you are eating.
  • I'm planning on getting in some extra exercise the week of and eating what I want on T-day. I know i won't eat as much as in years past because I'm used to eating less. But I'm not going to worry about it, and I will eat pie!
  • My husband is currently unmotivated to make changes for himself. He will walk with me a couple times a week, and is proud of my weight loss and understands my need to eat better, but we have had words a few times when he gets frustrated with me weighing food or asking for the recipe to input it in mfp (he does most of the…
  • I used to drink a can or more a day, but stopped a few years ago for a couple reasons (including being cheap- seemed like a stupid thing to spend money on), and since I have stopped, I feel better. It was hard at first, but I realized I just needed a different source of caffeine to get passed the cravings,so I drank coffee…
  • Starting: 208 Current: 181 Goal: 145, but I'll be happy with anything under 159.
  • A big motivator for me to finally lose this weight was a fear of diabetes. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my youngest son, and have always been told that makes me a much higher risk for type two diabetes. I had a physical in October, and my fasting glucose put me at *just* over the line for borderline…
  • Google showed me this... http://www.emaxhealth.com/8782/what-studies-support-vitamin-d-belly-fat-diet-discussed-dr-oz-show Read carefully: "...the Vitamin D Diet is a portion control based program that limits an individual to 1400-1500 calories per day of Vitamin D rich foods that will provide the body with approximately…
  • My daughter is a natural red head, green eyes, freckles and all.
  • Okay, I'm clearly over thinking things. I'll just go with it. When I get stuck at a nasty plateau, remind me of this thread, please.
  • Neti pot! Best thing ever for any sinus issues, and stuff ears are usually a sinus issue. I was so grossed out by the mere thought of the neti pot, I avoided it for years. Finally, I broke down and tried it. What a difference it makes! Get the Neil Med net pot with the pre-mixed packets.
  • Maybe my post was too long... I've been at this for two and a half months- I didn't just start. The rate of loss is accelerating, not slowing down.
  • 5'7" started at 208, currently 183, goal weight 145. I'm big boned and curvy. In my 20's I was about 132-135 for a while, but it was hard work to maintain. 145 is more realistic for me, I think. I'll be happy with anything under 159 (that will put me in to the normal weight range).

  • I weigh every day and check in when I have a new low.
  • You're probably dehydrated. Drink a bunch of water.
  • What they said- eat as clean as possible. Fresh, home made, unprocessed real foods. Drink lots of water. Lots and lots. Flushes it right out.
  • Three meals, two snacks usually.
  • I just upped my calories. MFP had mine set at 1540 for moderately active, one pound a week loss. I eat back almost all my exercise calories. I have lost 25 pounds since the end of August/first of September. I got to the point last week where I felt like I was starving all the time. So, I upped my calories to 1800, which…
  • I've actually noticed a lot of things taste and smell different now that I'm eating cleaner and avoiding sugar and fake food.
  • I know nothing about that medication. But, I can share a personal story. I have been on MFP since about the first of September. I set my goals using the MFP guided settings and I have been carefully logging every bite. I've been losing more than the pound a week I thought i would. But last week, I started being REALLY…
  • Yep, you can definitely see the change. Good for you!
