  • I don't have a predetermined goal weight . . . I'm just going to go until I like how I feel and look and call it good. :)
  • I usually have a snack about an hour/hour and a half before bed . . . if I eat right before I lay down my stomach doesn't really appreciate it! But as long as it fits into your calorie goals and doesn't cause any digestive issues, then it's totally fine to eat at night. How much you consume is a lot more important than…
  • MFP's calorie goal for you already includes a deficit. (For example, to lose a pound a week, I'm at 1430 calories, but my maintenance amount of whatever is 1930) so you should back at least part of your exercise calories. I would say don't eat all of them back unless you have a heart rate monitor because the MFP estimates…
  • http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/workout-detail/Crunchless-Abs-Routine-Crunch-Free-Abs-Workout/av/ Give that video a try, I love it.
  • People who are naturally thin can eat whatever they want. My roommate has weighed 120 pounds since we graduated high school nearly 11 years ago and eats nothing but junk food. I swear she lives on Totinos Party Pizzas, Oreo cookis, and Mountain Dew and never gains a pound.
  • Six days is not nearly enough time to be worrying already. If you're working out regularly your muscles are probably retaining water, which could definitely effect the weight on the scale. I would recommend not weighing yourself every day . . . go once a week at most. I weigh every two weeks so I don't drive myself crazy…
  • I feel like short shorts and tops that show off your stomach (even if it's only an inch or so) is, quite frankly, a little young for you. No offense, but I was in HS around the same time as you, and I wouldn't dress like that now at any weight. I don't want to look like I'm still in high school. Just my two cents. Like I…
  • Try either listening to music, or, if you have a smart phone or iPad or something like that, download TV shows to watch while you're at the gym.
  • I usually have on for breakfast and it keeps me full until just about lunch time, so I don't snack in between. I love them.
  • While it's good that he quit smoking, as far as the weight loss goes, I don't think you can change him. The best you can do is focus on yourself and hope that seeing you making progress inspires him to want to do the same. As far as food goes, jsut because he buys it doesn't mean you have to eat it.
  • If your husband is only with you for your boobs and you legit think he'll leave you when you lose them, he shouldn't be your husband.
  • My office has catered lunches almost daily from pharmacy reps . . . I've learned to either eat in moderation or say no. Because I'm an adult and can do that. It's really not much of a struggle.
  • I think they both suck.
  • If you're just trying to lose weight I don't think it matters much. I just can't eat when I first wake up (don't know why that is) so I usually just have coffee and don't actually eat any food until around 11 AM. So I would say just eat when you're hungry and let that be that. :)
  • I'm a medical billing specialist, so I spend a good chunk of time at a desk. But I also have to go up to our front lobby quite a bit to talk to patients, so I feel like I walk a good amount of time at work. I work for a cardiology practice, though, so I have a lot of very healthy co-workers who eat well and work out and…
  • This! You're definitely making progress!
  • So there's this guy, and then you mentioned in a response post that you had to use your self defense skills when someone else followed you to your door not long ago? I think you need to get out of this neighborhood. Yes, you have a right to live where you want but not at such great expense. If you stay I'd get either…
  • MFP does tend to overestimate exercise calories, so maybe try only eating back half of them? That would be my suggestion. Or if you want to get more accurate burn estimates, invest in a heart rate monitor. Also, I've been told that sore muscles tend to retain water more so if you're working out consistently you could be…
  • Technically whatever meal you eat after waking up is breakfast (literally you're breaking the fast that your body had while you slept) so this question is kind of pointless. Not in a bad or mean way, just saying.
  • Someone said before that heavy is a pretty relative term. I just started lifting around the beginning of February; I started with 5 lb. weights because it was all I could handle. I'm up to 8 now. I'm absolutely not afraid of "lifting heavy" and I know I'm not going to bulk up or whatever, I'm just slowly working my way up…
  • I think of it the opposite way that you do, OP . . . when I had a gym membership I'd always feel better going if the gym was busy, because I figured the more people around, the more I'd blend in and the less likely I was to catch someone's eye, if that makes sense. Whereas if there are only a few people, you're definitely…
  • I think you just answered your own question. Log EVERYTHING. But really, if you've lost 8 pounds since mid February you're losing at a healthy rate, so I kind of think you're freaking out about nothing.
  • My Maltese, Benji, passed away a month ago. Now I have Max (the one in the mohawk wig in my picture, ha!) and Hollie, who is a blue heeler mix.
  • Your aunt sucks. Get your own fridge or your own place. Unrelated but why is your goal weight 99 pounds?
  • If you were still under your goal then why are you worrying?
  • Don't give up on MFP . . . it's still useful as far as calorie counting and all that, just stay away from the forums. You're right, people post on here wanting to hear the answers they want to hear (like "Yes, it's perfectly safe and healthy to eat 800 calories a day," and "Yes, that supplement/pill/crazy fad diet works…
  • You're already at a healthy weight for your height . . . you'll look emaciated at 100 pounds. Instead of focusing on losing weight you should focus on toning up your butt and thighs.
  • Oh my God leave him. Leave him fast and don't look back.
  • I always just tell myself to get back on track the next day and don't beat myself up about it. I've found that if I beat myself up for getting off track for a day I'll just feel down on myself the next day, and what would have been a one day slip up turns into a week long binge.
  • He didn't buy that you put on weight during your TOM? Does he watch you weigh yourself and then make you explain your weight to him? If so I say leave. Also, it's virtually impossible that your husband actually gains 8 pounds of fat in a few days of eating junk and loses 10 pounds of fat in a few days afterwards. I…
