Airplane seats and subway seats are fine as they are. If a person is too large to fit in the defined space of the seat they paid for, they should absolutely have to buy a second seat. If they're so proud of their obesity, that shouldn't be a problem. But the bottom line is that they made themselves obese, and the people…

For eggs I just use a zero calorie non stick spray, so there's no added flavor or calories but my eggs still cook and they don't stick. I also use the spray on veggies if I'm roasting them instead of tossing them in oil. Really though, I think your best bet is to get a good nonstick pan and just use less oil when you need…

The Wishbone brand line of E.V.O.O. dressings are all really tasty and pretty low cal, most of them are 70 calories for 2 TBS of dressing. I use them for chicken marinades as well.

Any of the fads/trends that are along the lines of do this one thing and you'll magically lose weight (IE sprinkle this stuff on your food, take this pill before you eat, drink this shake for breakfast, etc.). The myth that anything but actual hard work and effort will make you lose weight is just the worst.

I've never really eaten breakfast consistently, like you I just can't eat right after I wake up, something about it just makes me queasy. I've been that way my entire life (I remember my mom having to force me to eat before school as a kid). And don't listen to that crap about it "starting your metabolism" for the…

I don't think that's too ambitious. As far as training goals, that I know nothing about, but there are a lot of apps for stuff like that, so maybe that's a good place to start? I used to do Couch to 5k but I actually didn't like running, but I liked the app. Good luck!

I think the most annoying thing is when people tell me to try some fad diet or to cut out one food group completely. I can't tell you how many co-workers I have who are only eating 500 calories a day on the MediFast diet, or who aren't eating any carbs at all . . . it drives me nuts.

If you're not going to follow the program why use it?
-
If your job is that physically demanding, you could probably eat quite a bit more, so I'd take advantage of that. :)
-
That's definitely more than a very small success! You look awesome!! Keep it up girl!

17 pounds in 46 days is a little more than 2.5 pounds a week. If your doctor wants you to lose faster than that, find a new doctor.

I don't think lemon juice has any magical weight loss power, but I do put sliced lemon in my water because I like the taste. That's about it.
-
That sounds like a lot of work for being on vacation, but whatever works.
-
Yes, definitely, absolutely reward yourself.
-
Nope. Best of luck with your journey, though!

Honestly, I think that if you lose weight by making changes that you can sustain, you'll be fine. I've had the same thought as you, but then I remind myself that before I freak out about regaining, I have to lose the weight in the first place! Just keep on track and cross that bridge when you come to it. :)
-
Nope, it's cardio.
-
That's amazing, good for you!!
-
You've survived cancer and 8 surgeries, weight loss is nothin' after those! Best of luck to you, I'm glad you're OK and everything! :)
-
Honestly no. 4 pounds a week is unrealistic and only eating 800 calories a day is extremely unhealthy and will end up doing you more harm than good in the long run.
-
See, that's what I don't put that I'm not judging people before I say judgmental things. That way people know EXACTLY what they're getting.

If those gadgets don't have heart rate monitors on them and are tracking your heart rate, they're pretty much useless for tracking calories burned. I say invest in a heart rate monitor for more accurate tracking.

My small results motivate me. Like if I see the number on the scale go, even if it's half a pound, or if I notice I'm looking a little more toned in a picture . . . stuff like that is what motivates me the most! It makes me want to work harder and get even bigger results.
-
That's awesome progress, especially in a pretty short amount of time. So good job! And the food part of this gets easier, it took me awhile to figure out that part too. :)

Tonsils can be a huge issue in causing sleep problems, so having them removed is probably going to do a lot more good than you think. If your tonsils at any point block your airway you get breathing stoppages so you basically have symptoms of sleep apnea without true apnea. (I work at a sleep disorder facility, we do sleep…

I've had a Polar FT4 for almost 2 years now and have never had a problem with the chest strap. I had to change the batteries in the watch once but that was it.
-
That's an amazing change for only 34 days! Good job.
-
Make small changes, be patient, and don't let one mistake ruin your whole day. That one mistake thing is probably the best of the 3. For a long time I was the type of person who, if I screwed up one thing, would let my whole day go to crap. Like if I ate a huge fast food breakfast that put me almost at my calorie goal,…

I don't even know why but the bulking comment made me laugh so hard I cried.
