  • I would... But I just ate it all!
  • Yeah we are with you! I think the majority of folks on here have been yo yo dieters... lol Anyway having a baby is excellent motivation, so whenever you are about to overindulge just think of that precious baby to be.

  • Seeing as how a target weight range for your height is 100-119lbs, you are not far off. You are simply overweight, not obese. By recognizing and starting the process you should shoot for 1-1.5lbs per week in weight loss, 1.5 may be a little aggressive. Slow and steady progress will allow you to then maintain the results…
  • Dude, those are some amazing results. You gotta be doing something right ;) Great information as well and very thorough.
  • I'm in! My wife and I are going on our 6 yr anniversary trip in February, and I'd love to be under or right at 200lbs by then.
  • Sorry I'm not an expert on the TDEE method, I think if you try to follow both methods, then you'll get confused; and thus your post. The MFP basics are the NET caloric intake they give you is after exercising and calories burnt. They already build in a small deficit anyway, or so I've read. My understanding is if you take…
  • Fantastic work. Keep it up!
  • Hey and welcome. Are you exercising? If so then you should be netting, after exercise calories burnt, your NET GOAL of 1300 calories. Doing this, you could average a 2lb weight loss per week for a while, then readjust later on. Weight your food on a scale and be honest with yourself with what you are actually eating and…
  • In the past I too have lost 15-20lbs and then just derailed due to lack of sustainability in exercise and dieting. This time its day-by-day, eating enough that I don't feel deprived and I look at exercise as a way to get what I want, not torture, but an investment in myself.
  • As long as you celebrate in a meaningful way, I don't think it matters to much what you do. I can't wait to be under 200lbs. That will be the first time in 10 years. I still have 25lbs to go before that happens. Congrats on your progress, mini goals are a great way to stay motivated.
  • Welcome. Sometimes it takes us feeling this way to spark the starting of our new lifestyle. Don't wait for New Years, or even tomorrow, start NOW. Go through the basics that MFP has with calorie intake and exercise. You can set your goal at 2lbs per week to lose at first, but then once you lose a bit you'll want to…
  • Some days are like that, the trick is to be consistent no matter your emotions. Because after your workout, you'll be glad you did it. Think of your long term plans and keep focused on those. It's the daily choices we make that will allow us to be successful or not.
  • Hey Sheila, Welcome to the MFP family. One's appearance and weight can be both a detriment and a positive in their life. I have mostly had my weight increasing for the last 10 years, although with diets I have lost a few pounds but always put them right back on. I'm finding this group to be very motivational and a great…
  • Oh yeah.. I see resemblance in the eyes, cheek bones, and nose. Both of you are beautiful ladies.
  • I've been trying most "fad" type diet plans since the age of 16, so about 10 years. I have never lost more than 20lbs on one of these and typically start wavering anywhere from 3-6 weeks in. The closest I came was about a year ago, I started P90x, was doing great and feeling awesome... Then my wife and I had our second…
  • Looking great! Keep up the work. Your attitude says a lot about the changes you've made in your life.
  • Thank you all for your responses. I suppose I have a tendency to drink all day cause I'm used to drinking about 7-8 sodas in a day.
  • Don't adjust your goal of two pounds per week, depending on how much you have to lose, just yet... The 1270 calories is your net intake, that is after you exercise. So if you exercise and burn 500 calories a day. Then you should be eating 1770 calories, which will net you 1270 cals. Also, doing so will keep you satisfied…
  • Hi Lauren! Welcome to MFP. Low will power will come and go, but you need to see this transformation as a life-changing deal. Start with the basics, ask questions. If you need help, shoot me a friend request or message. There forum is full of great folks with a lot of knowledge.
  • Awe... Pizza. And of course salty foods. I find if I'm eating enough, but not too much, and often enough that I won't get the cravings as bad.
  • I try to snack on carrots and some light ranch dressing, or maybe some peanuts. I do find that I drink a lot more water when I'm sitting down studying. Good luck on your finals.
  • "Eating right" is very subjective. The only way to make progress is to know your body, how much you need calorie wise in a day, set a plan to hit a slight deficit, and stick to the plan. Think long term about your life, goals, and dreams; don't focus too much on today how you look, or the scale each day.
  • The key is to plan your meals beforehand. And just like you don't want to undue your hard work on your exercise days, think the same way by limiting your indulgence on your off days. You can do this, it's all about how much you want this for yourself. Stay positive.
  • Well at least you realize that what you did by overeating was not as enjoyable as you thought it'd be. So now you know when the next time comes around, and hopefully you'll make the right decision. Each day is a fresh start. And it's ok to treat yourself once in a while, but moderation is key to a lifestyle change.
  • I don't know about science... :) But your weight will fluctuate a few pounds here and there, especially after you change your food intake drastically.
  • Welcome back Rachel! New beginnings are always exciting. Remember, its a lifestyle change, not all about the scale, at least that's what I keep having to repeat to myself. Best of luck to you and I sent you a friend request.
  • Welcome and good luck. Be patient in waiting for your results. With only 20lbs to lose, it will be slower progress. Set your MFP goal at .5-1.00lb per week in loss and track you calorie intake.
  • Wow! Such great results. I sent you a friend request, welcome back to MFP
  • I actually like the protein shakes in the morning, right before my workout. But I'm not much of a cook, and thus have creative issues with lunch and dinner meals.
