I think what lifting enthusiasts mean when they say no cardio is no cardio at the gym. Some cardio activity is essential for health. Most lifters do something to stay active: team sport, walking the dog, chasing your kids, don't sit on your couch all day.

Why would losing the last 10 faster make a person gain weight when maintaining? I don't understand. If you gain while maintaining you are eating too many calories and would need to reduce them. How many calories you used to eat would have nothing to do with it.

Something just occurred to me. Could you have misunderstood your dr? Amennoria is most often caused by wieght loss and excessive exercise. It seems mmuch more likely that that would be a risk factor for you, if you are even at risk at all.

I'd get a second opinion on that. Very obese women have children all the time, if being 40 lbs overweight prevented menses the US birthrate would have hit rock bottom by now.

If you have a congenital heart condition eating well is much more important than losing weight for cosmetic reasons. Don't diet. Instead, eat healthy foods and maintain moderate, enjoyable activity to give yourself the best chance of staying healthy. Best wishes.

This just goes to show how inaccurate scales are. The best solution imo is to use measurements instead.

olive oil or paprika

I disagree. Distance runners take rest days, it prevents injury. Even pro athletes incorporate recovery into their training
-
If you don't have planned rest annd recovery, you'll have unplanned rest and recovery.

The part that is hereditary is whether you are at risk in the first place. Anyone can lower their risk, no matter what genetic hand they are dealt.

Be patient. Don't weigh yourself for 30 days. Eat some high volume, low calorie food. A big meal sized salad maybe, measure the dressing.

It will improve or effectively cure those cardiovascular related chronic diseases for most people. Many can get off medication and everyone can lower the risk of premature death.
-
By definition if you gain fat you are not consuming calories at maintenance.

I believe you know of a good and obvious refutation to this, so let's just pretend took the time to type it.

If his diet says or implies it will reduce belly fat, that's demonsrably wrong.

To be more specific for those who are new to HIIT, the body never really gets used to running at max intensity, but it does adapt so VO2 max is at a faster pace. When you adapt you can then go faster or harder while sprinting and reap the same benefit.
-
You can just walk outside and start running using percieved effort.
-
True, it does not mean that. The fact that his advice doesn't work is a completely separate issue.
-
You can get a good estimate of the calories burned during HIIT, but the benefit of HIIT over other forms of cardio comes for several hours post workout, amd that is difficult to quantify. Some studies show as much as 9 times the fat burned versus low intensity cardio, but this is due to a combination of factors such as…

Even if there were not vegetable sources of complete protein, amino acids are pooled in the blood stream and do not require intentional combining. Millions of of vegetarians not being protein defecient over decades should be enough to convince anyone of that.

**** (This is ultimately what is wrong with the fitness industry today. People believing things that they read from unreliable sources).**** OK then, please support what you are saying with a reliable source. Or any source, for that matter. Not more than 10 years old please.

Protein's for weight lifting, carbs

Losing 18 or so pounds of fat is a great accomplishment. It would make no sense to throw it away because you haven't accomplished more yet. Make it your goal to at least maintain your current body fat. If you can do even more in the future, great.

Don't waste your time and energy doing ab only workouts. Heavy barbell training, no machines, low reps, heavy weights. Mostly squats, deadlifts, overhead presses, bench press, and weighted chin-ups. Increase calories accordingly, high protein, normal carbs.

Not true, a widely believed but long disproven myth. http://www.cbsnews.com/2300-204_162-10004624-8.html

Not only that, but cross training should always be cardio. Some supplemental strength training is good, but it's not cross training. Serious training for distance running and serious heavy lifting can't really be done at the same time without over training imo.

In the movie the extended fasts were done with medical supervision.
