Miri, just kick it under the bed! haha It took me a long time as well. I was always wanted to get on it "just to see" and when it didn't reflect what I thought I had done I would get upset. So I vowed to not touch it until I feel I am in the shape I want to be. Curious to see what the scale says then! haha

I would focus more on diet if I were you. The stress of trying to workout, work, get proper sleep and live your life can hinder your efforts. Eat as clean as you can and drink water, tea, coffee. I am only doing 2 miles right now so not much experience based advice, but would like to run a half later this year as well. There are all kinds of training programs on runners world that look pretty good.

I was working out a LOT and watching everything I ate, but I couldn't get my food intake under complete control. I would do perfectly for a week then fall into a binge. Well I like to think that if I eat healthy I will be healthy, so "junk" is a big negative. It does determine weight loss because if I eat 1000 calories in Broccoli it is different than eating a 1000 calories in cookies or a 1000 calories in whiskey.

book 1 is almost exactly like season 1. After that they become 2 different things. It is fun to watch a totally different take on everything while watching the show. The books are still good, but shouldn't be compared to the show.

Steroids, that is very interesting. Has it been helping? I wanted to see an endocrinologist, but my doctor suggested weight loss pills first. Also, I thought that where we gain weight is more of a genetic thing. My stomach stays relatively flat while my hips and thighs get huge, then I develop the belly.
