  • Snack on items that have protein and/or fiber to help keep you full. I like salted almonds and popcorn- if you pop it yourself, you can eat a TON for only 100 calories. Good luck!

  • Yes, supposedly that should work. However, if you are just now getting to maintenence, try not to jump right to the maintenence calories- add 200 or so a week slowly until you get up to your maintenence level, since your body is used to fewer calories. Congrats!
  • Are you able to work out on a stationary bike, or would that hurt your back? Otherwise, swimming is a great very low impact exercise. Watching your food is also a MAJOR thing that'll help you on your weight loss journey.
  • Fantastic job- what an amazing journey you've had. Keep up the good work!
  • I'm with a lot of the other posters- it's amazingly sad how many calories things have! Just try to find something similar in the food database so you can get a good estimate. Good luck!
  • Feel free to add me- I try to comment on my friends' posts several times a week, and am in it for the long haul, as long as my friends recipricate! ;o)
  • I've heard that as long as you can get in a bit of time at each workout, doing it twice a day will actually help you burn MORE calories because your heartrate/metabolism gets kicked up twice during the day....
  • I'm in! I try to "bust a move" on Saturdays anyway! So far today 477 calories burned, but am going out for dinner, so I'd better control myself!
  • If you do best on a schedule, then schedule exercise into your day so that you'll do it. On the "what to do" front, there are TONS of awesome workout DVDs out there (some you can even just get through Netflix). If you have enough money/space, I REALLY find my treadmill useful (and it folds up pretty small). I set up a…
  • Good luck to you! Feel free to add me as a friend- my main motivation to lose weight is also to get to a healthy weight so I can have children in the next year or two! You can do it!
  • I LOVE the maple glazed chicken, and I just ask for the maple glaze on the side. Strangely, I also like the popcorn shrimp, and they have surpisingly low calories, at least for the lunch portion.... You could see if there's a meal you like and ask for the lunch portion. And my faves are the biscuits- 160 cal/each, so I try…
  • Great job on dropping the smoking, now onto dropping the pounds! ;o) Good luck!
  • I have about one a week where I go over my calories- seems to shake things up a bit and keeps me from getting on a plateu.

  • I know it seems the opposite of what you should do, but try to have one or two off days a week, and have a day every two weeks or so where you go OVER your calories. Your body/metabolism eventually gets used to what you're doing/eating, and eating more/exercising less once in a while can actually shock your system into…
  • Great job on all your hard work and your success!
  • Awesome job! Keep up the good work!
  • That you want to come back and look at the topic later. If you reply to the topic, it automatically puts it in "my topics" so you can easily find it later. Saves time making a comment if you just put bump.
  • I've heard on average that pizza thin crust is about 300 calories per slice, depending what's on it- can you compare the pizza where you work to a national chain like Pizza Hut? If so, you could look up PH slices to get an idea....
  • I believe the activity level on MFP is referring to what you do at your job the majority of the time, then it figures out how much you're doing regularly to burn calories (sitting, walking down halls, etc.) It doesn't have anything to do with your exercise until you actually add your exercises at the end of each day. Good…
  • I love Turbo Jam (especially the Fat Blaster workout), and was wondering the same thing- I hunted for a week or so on Ebay and bought one of the TurboFire DVDs- 55EZ. It is NOT easy, and I could only do about 30 minutes of the 52 minute DVD, but I think it's going to be a killer fat burner no matter how much I do. See if…

  • Welcome, and feel free to add me as a friend if you need support. You can do it!
  • Feel free to add me as a friend- I've had my ups and downs and am now hopefully on my way down for the last time!!!! Good luck to you!
  • Feel free to add me!
  • Turbo Jam Fat Blaster is a killer!
  • I'm also a sugar addict- tried keeping track of my sugar for a bit, and was totally bummed that having a glass of milk and a banana put me over my sugar for the day. So..... I don't keep track of sugar anymore, especially if it's the "healthy" kind.
  • Ha ha, hope all of you get to enjoy NOT hearing that nasty scale be mean to you! ;o)
  • I think you can do it, just go with what you feel comfortable in. No matter how thin I get (I'm on another downswing after being large for quite a while), I still always have a fat pouch under my belly button and am not happy with my thighs, BUT, had a good upper body and upper abs, so I went and got a bikini top and…
  • Great job! I've noticed that, too, but have to go 4 days without sugar before most of my cravings go away. Congrats on your "new" collarbone! ;o)
  • I've had the opposite problem- that when I've consistenly eaten a lot of sugar and then stop, it's almost like I get withdrawl symptoms- don't feel so good and get headaches. Maybe you're having the problem that you're not used to the sugar and your body is telling you to stop! (Bummer, cause it tastes so good! ;o)
  • Since I can remember, it's taken me about 2 hours every night to fall asleep. I try to go to bed by 10:30, which means I might be asleep by 12:30 and get 6 hours of actual sleep. I've tried everything- breathing, meditation, relaxing sounds, natural herbs, and finally found that generic Ambien really works for me, but I…
