  • That's awesome- congrats! Keep up the good work!
  • That is awesome! Thanks!
  • Yep, or if you finally get to maintenance and want to maintain, you're also questioned why you're on here. Hello??? It worked to help me lose the weight, why not stay on??? Good luck to you!
  • Cardio will show you weight loss results the quickest- all of those DVDs look great, and the elliptical burns about 10 calories a minute, so you can burn a lot in a little time. Eventually add strength training/weights as well. Good luck!
  • Hi all! Our 21 week ultrasound went very well- the baby was moving around the entire time (getting in a good workout to keep up with mama! ;o) and had hiccups half the time. They said everything is looking healthy! And, had only gained 6 pounds this month according to their scale (rather than the 12 my home scale said…
  • Exercised for the first time in a week today (have been on vacation and gained 10 pounds in 2 weeks!!!) and it felt so good! We have our one and only ultrasound today- so excited! Will be 21 weeks tomorrow. Have a great day, ladies!!!
  • If it makes you feel any better, I'm not associated with the military at all, and my doctors also didn't schedule my first appointment until almost 10 weeks- drove me crazy! But then I found out that they're listening for the heartbeat at the first appointment, which usually can't be heard until week 9-10, and if they…
  • Hi everyone! I'm fairly new here too, so love the idea- have been offline for two weeks on vacation, so haven't been able to keep up with anything on MFP. Name: Khrys Age: 33 Location: Bristol, IN Baby #?: 1 Due Date: December 14th, 2011 Baby Sex: decided not to find out, which is shocking, since usually I'm a MAJOR…
  • Yay! That will be SO helpful!!!
  • Heather- with my due date in December, I'll be able to have about 14 weeks off of work- so excited! I have an awesome workout room in my house with weights, several aerobic steps, a treadmill and elliptical, etc. I plan to at least start walking as soon as the doctor says I'm good to go, but plan on using those 14 weeks to…
  • ArchyJill- I've also noticed the large increase in breast size- happened pretty darn quick! I haven't had to move up bra sizes yet, but probably should have! Soon, soon.... You asked about workout bras- I get some from Kohl's that I LOVE for my large-end C-size- they have an underwire and separate cups and "Keep everything…
  • Hi all! I'm Khrys and am 17 weeks pregnant with our first. I'm 33 1/2 and have also had the comments from doctors about "being a bit old to have my first child...." Almost reached my goal weight before getting pregnant, and was also exercising a LOT. Since getting pregnant, I've slightly fallen off the wagon and have…
  • YOU are inspiring with all of your positive comments and support, and for reaching your goal- congrats!
  • Thanks for sharing!
  • I think forever, cause if I'm not keeping track, I'm sure I could easily eat 4000 calories a day! With this site though, it doesn't take long to keep track, so that's ok!
  • Have you tried the complete opposite and taken a day or two off of exercise a week? That might help. Also, try to eat more calories than you need once or twice every two weeks. I've done that, and it seems to "shock" my body into continuing to lose, as the body can get used to the same exercises/calories over time. Good…
  • Do a search on MFP on how to post pics- I found a great one that gives precise instructions, and I always have to go back and search everytime I want to post pics...
  • Thanks everybody for the advice- I'll check out those stores! Can't borrow my hubby's t-shirts- he's smaller than me and litterally about 5% body fat, but I'll check into the other ideas!
  • Yay! Congrats!
  • There are tons of threads about this on the site- just do a search on eating back your calories.
  • I struggle too- I do better if I promise my (supportive) husband that I'm going to get up early to exercise, then I feel like I'm committed. Also, once I'm up for 10 minutes or so, I'm not tired anymore, and.... I've learned that I never regret getting up to exercise, but I do regret NOT getting up!
  • Probably just look up something similar, like a (soft serve) Mc Donald's ice cream cone....

  • Have you already been exercising? If so, my doctor says that basically anything you're used to doing before pregnancy can be continued during pregnancy, except for obvious stuff like scuba diving or things that could be dangerous, like falling off a trampoline or horseback riding..... Good luck!
  • I've found that on days I eat totally healthy, I can eat SO MUCH more than on days I eat not-so-good things. You can eat like an entire head of lettuce for 100 calories!!! When I'm stuck, I also plan out my food and put it on MFP either the night before or the morning of, and that helps me stay on track. Filling snacks…
  • Probably about an hour a day if I'm at home or if work is really slow, but on busy days, I'm on just long enough to log in my food and exercise.
  • Yep, once a week the same day and time, wearing the same clothes (or no clothes) so you can really compare each week.... I didn't measure at first, then started, and it was awesome- sometimes you may not be losing weight but might lose inches, and that motivation will keep you inspired/motivated to keep going!
  • I had headaches almost every day for 3 weeks when I first started exercising a lot and cutting out sugar. Your body may just be getting used to the positive changes and possibly going through some withdrawl-like symptoms. Keep with it!

  • Hmmm, must be something about May/June.... I've also fallen off the wagon the last 3 weeks. Good for you on keeping track of your progress and not letting 5 pounds blow your resolve! I keep my "fat" picture of me in my pantry so it helps me not eat as much! ;o) Good luck- get back on that wagon!
  • Congrats! Isn't that just the best feeling??? I'm finally fitting into some old clothes (which is even better than new!) plus some that have been hanging in my closet with tags on them, just waiting for me to get down to that size- ah, it's so nice to rip those tags off and wear them!!!
  • I finally took sugar off my tracking list and added calcium instead- I really only wanted to keep track of the "bad" sugar- like candy/doughnuts, and got ticked off that I was over my daily sugar after a glass of milk and an apple! If it bothers you, just get rid of the sugar and keep track of something else....
