I would try stool softner first, then maybe some of these other ideas. It helped me right after delivery. Also our sons are almost the same age. Mine was born 11/25.

Welcome and congrats on your son! You have come to the right place, there are so many great supportive ladies on here!
-
Thanks ladies. I like the idea of the space saver, but I will probably have to actually go look at ones first. I will be buying one in the next month probably.
-
I will have to check that out, about how many calories are they? I find that even when eating healthly now I have to eat at least 2000 to not be hungry.
-
I do take sandwiches, but that's the only thing I can really take cold, and I get tired of them everyday. PLUS I'm asking about a calories number, I indicated that I knew my eating habits were not great. I am not entirely ready to change that at the moment. And I have done lots of reserach and know that my breastmilk will…

Have you tried sign language with him so he can communicate better? I would be pretty frustrated if I couldn't say what I wanted to. There are also picture books and things like that to help him until he can verbalize more. I work with special needs people (not saying it's the same) but many of them have communicatino…

Welcome. I had my son on November 25th. I need to lose around 30 more lbs I gained during pregnancy.
-
thanks for the ideas, but it really is faster. I have trouble finding too many things I can eat cold while at lunch. I have to eat in my car while I pump.
-
I am working on getting more fruits and vegetables and trying to eat less fast food. AFter 12+ hours days I turn to processed foods because they are fast. I do sometimes prepare a few meals on the weekend, but that only lasts a few days.
-
Anyone else? Like I said I know I need to eat better, but this is how I ate before and it worked. I just want advice purely on a calorie number. I've heard you burn 20 calories per ounce of milk made....which would equal 800-900 for me.

That sounds like fun, when is it?
-
Thanks, I might try it again this weekend!
-
No I haven't but I might try. I am still scared to do it without the shield..lol. I will try the left side though, it seems less sensitive.
-
That's a good point that some of you made about having some point to stop pumping at work. Although sometimes I'm gone aroudn 12 hours so I don't know if I could go that long. But maybe at some point I could just pump once while I'm gone, nurse when I'm with him, and use what I have frozen when I am not with him. We will…

I would also vote for eating more. Maybe try setting your goals to lose 1/2 or 1 lb per week and include bf calories. You could be burning more thatn 500 as well bf, which could be part of the problem. Is your milk supply OK with eating 1700 calories? I have mine currently set to maintenance, taking into account 500 for…

I'm enjoying nursing now, but have to use the shield, which is a pain in the booty!!. He latched once without it and it hurt soo bad. I need to try it again but I'm scared. I pretty much pumped for the first 12 weeks due to lip tie and he is rough. It is better now that he is bigger, but I'm so worried about when he gets…

I kind of figured that was my case. This last week I have been eating 2700 calories and have lost a couple lbs. I decided not to stress about it, and eat if I was hungry. Thanks ladies, I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I wish DH was more into exercise, but he's not. He understands it is important to me and doesn't mine when…

Thank you, his lip tie is much better now that's he's older and he is much better at latching. It isn't as painful. Last weekend I nursed him most of the day, except for a bottle at night, but still pumped 4 times. He still doesn't empty me all the way, I'm not sure if that is because of the shield I have to use. He…

Welcome, I have about the same amount of weight to lose, but my son is already 15 weeks old.
-
Hopefully it stays away for us both!! I've enjoyed not having one in over a year!
-
I made sure this morning! Sometimes my boobs have 10-12oz in there!
-
My bleeding was on and off for almost 12 weeks, but finally has stopped. I remember it has just started up again right before my 6 week, so it wasn't related to exercise...who knows. If you are worried, contact your doctor.
-
I also waited until I got cleared at 6 weeks.

Welcome! I have about 30lbs of baby weight to lose still :( It doesn't want to budge. I have one son who is 3 months old
-
I am the same way....I love my son to death but I need to work. It is part of my identity kind of. I worked hard to get my Master's Degree and I love my job helping other people. I do miss him on long days but I think it really makes me appreciate the time we do have together more. Plus, he mostly is watched by my parents,…

good to know, we haven't needed one yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time!
-
I'm also not as lucky. I gained around 60, lost 30 and nothing else is coming off. My son is 3 months old and I'm breastfeeding. I have tried different ways to do my calories. I stay within my calories most of the time and workout at least 3 days a week, I've heard that 1 out of 5 breastfeeding moms have a hard time losing.
-
We use pampers and they work so well, I only change him maybe 5 or 6 times a day, unless it's a poo of course!
-
I have some soreness but it is tolerable. I use olive oil on flanges as a lubricant. I also use the lansinoh lotion at least once a day, especially at night. Maybe you aren't eating enough if you lose after eating junk? I have tried many different ways and my weight stays the same. It just gets frustrating and it makes me…
