  • Not from Ontario, but close - just outside of Buffalo, NY here! Just across the border from Fort Erie!
  • YOLO - I can only hope it's going out of style - my 9 year old DD uses this CONSTANTLY! It's even how she answers the phone! :S
  • The best had to be what my daughter said to me when she was 6 years old (she's 9 now). She said, "Mommy, remember when I was in your tummy" I said, "yes." She said, "Well, when I was waiting to be born, me and the other babies were up in Heaven looking down at all of the mommies and daddies. And when I saw you I just knew…
  • Welcome! I'm sorry this is a month after you 1st posted - I have to admit I don't check the message boards here as often as I should! Feel free to add me if you need more MFP friends! My DD is 9 years old now, but I still remember the younger ages as if they were yesterday! Good luck on your journey!

  • Congratulations! You should be proud of yourself! I had a similar moment last night - we were running late for DD's cheerleading practice, so we went through the McDonald's drive thru - DD got her chicken nugget happy meal (no sauce) and I just ordered a coffee. I had my dinner after practice when we got home!
  • I agree with the other posters! I have the Polar FT7 and the chest strap is quite comfortable!
  • I was 30 when I was diagnosed during an infertility workup. I'm 41 now and have been on synthroid ever since.
  • I, too, am just getting back on track. I would love to add you as a friend - we can keep each other honest! Every year I say that this is the year the rest of my weight will come off and stay off - help me make 2013 that year? Hang in there! We're all in this together!
  • I've been doing WW and MFP side-by-side for a while now. Keep in mind - there are days when my calories will be just under my goal (by say, 25), yet my WW points are maybe 3-4 over my target. They are not identical! But I do find that I lose more weight and feel more satisfied if I worry more about my calorie goal than my…
  • Thanks, everyone! This will definitely give us a lot more to talk about tonight!
  • I don't know exactly how the WII version is, but I LOVE the Biggest Loser Workout game on my Kinect. They do make a Wii version!
  • I used to drink 1-2 liters of diet soda every day! I honestly didn't realize just how much I was drinking, so I added a spot on my food tracker here on MFP to account for any carbonated or alcoholic drinks. I don't think I'm ready to give up my diet soda completely, but I am proud to say that I am down to only one 20 oz…
  • Forgive me if this has already been posted and I missed it, but have you tried reading "The Beck Diet Solution"? I absolutely loved this book. It is a day by day method to prepare you for losing weight and to help you out with whichever weight loss plan you choose. Some of the topics didn't apply to me, but some definitely…
  • 41 here. You say you have teenage boys.....do you by any chance have an Xbox with Kinect? I love mine......don't really like the gyms by me, but I have some really good workout games and have been having good results. Feel free to add me! BTW - I am a single, full-time working mom to an amazing 9-year-old daughter!
  • Love this! I think we have all had bouts of low self-esteem due to other people, ex's, etc. I'm finding my way back from a relationship where my guy loved me for who I am and the size I currently am. It was so refreshing. And then he just dropped off the face of the earth - found out he went back to his ex and never…

  • I have seen this so many times! Currently I have a "friend" who is like this. She had gastric bypass and has lost almost 100 lbs. But now she is getting ready to have her tummy tuck surgery, and keeps trying to do a "cleanse" (liquid diet, no carbs, and pureed veggies) to lose more weight before her surgery. She brags that…
  • Thank you. I just posted to my blog about how down I have been feeling. I've been managing to get through, but you are absolutely right - getting dressed, make-up, etc., has also helped me to keep going.
  • Hi and welcome! My DD is 9 years old - a big 3rd grader! I currently do between 30-45 min during the week, sometimes more on the weekends. With my current situation, that amount of time is perfect for me. I do plan on upping my workout times when DD goes back to cheerleading practice this summer - I'll have a lot of extra…
  • Thank you for your kind words. I'm getting to the anger stage now, and I don't cry as much. I'm still hurt and honestly, I feel really stupid for believing him. I did see all of the red flags, but I just couldn't imagine he would hurt me this badly with all of the wonderful, loving things he was saying, making plans for…
  • 41 here! More friends are always welcomed!!!
  • Hi! I'm actually doing both WW and MFP side by side for a while so I can make the comparison before I completely switch over! Even though I am older, our stats are quite similar. I was 220 at my highest weight after having my daughter, then recommitted at 200 lbs. I am now 183 and am also 5'4". and my goal weight is also…
  • Haven't tried there yet - will have to do so when I can plan it into my meal plans!!!
  • Also from Buffalo - chicken wings (Anchor Bar or Duff's) and beef on weck!
  • Welcome back and feel free to add me, too! I've been on for a while, but was side-tracked by life. I'm back at it again and I am determined to make real progress this time! I believe you can never have too much help in the motivation area! :)
  • I can totally relate. Some guys (not all) feel that paying child support is giving us money to go out and party with, get our hair done, etc. They just can't grasp that it goes toward the raising of our kids! Hang in there and if you ever need to vent, let me know! Sending you a friend request.
  •  I was 29 when I was diagnosed. I honestly don't remember if I had symptoms, but it was found during a fertility workup. I can't believe I've been on the meds for almost 12 years now!
  • You're not old! I was married in 1999!
  • "Stop whining about having gym class every day!" I didn't realize how important it was until I got into college and the weight kept piling on.
  • I use the Polar FT7 and it does have a chest strap. Wear the strap under "the girls". I actually wear mine just below the bottom edge of my sports bra and I get consistent, accurate readings. Sometimes it's the bra that interferes with the readings for some reason!
  • According to your custody paperwork, do you both have "joint custody" even though you have primary physical custody? If so, that is the reason why. I had the same issue with my DD. I also have primary residential custody, but with regards to major decisions about her health, etc., I still have to get his agreement. I don't…
