  • 4 hours of exercise a day? I sure hope you're eating enough to fuel that amount of activity. Pretty sure I would throw in the towel after about a week, but what's too much for one person may not be too much for another.
  • I work out fasted ridiculously early in the morning and I really like to have protein oats as a post-workout meal. I don't notice a drop in energy at all - I feel the same after eating oatmeal as I do after eating any other meal. I don't find that I'm any hungrier than usual either. I mean, I could always eat, but it holds…
  • My go-to recipe is this: 9 lasagna noodles 1 lb 97/3 ground beef 1 jar pasta sauce of choice (I like Prego's three cheese sauce) 1/2 cup part skim ricotta 1/4 cup reduced fat grated Parmesan 2 oz baby spinach, chopped 1 cup (4oz) finely shredded part-skim mozzarella 1. Soak the noodles in hot water while you prepare the…
  • Timing doesn't matter. I'm a creature of habit, so I usually eat at 6:30 (post-workout meal), 10:00 (breakfast), 1:00 (lunch), 3:00 (snack), 7:00 (dinner and dessert). I go to bed really early since I'm up at 4 to work out, so that's about an hour after I finish eating.
  • Just emailed this to myself so I have it when I go shopping tomorrow... Spinach Chopped Romaine Bananas Lemons Avocado Puffed rice cereal Cocoa powder Butterfinger baking bits (YAAAAAAS) Canned pumpkin Penne Pasta sauce Black beans Italian sausage Chicken breast Ground turkey Bagels JIF natural peanut butter Nature's Own…
  • Crappy quality, but this is the oldest belly picture I have of me. This was 2009-2010ish, probably 135-140lbs. This was shortly after I started lifting in mid-2014. Around 130lbs. This was me at my smallest last Summer, around 116lbs. Not a maintainable weight for me unless I wanted to be hungry all day. So I gained a…
  • Can't say I do, home skillet. But feel free to be easily offended/shaken.
  • Then by all means, please explain what you are so worked up about if that's not it.
  • Muscles do not "tone." They get bigger, smaller, or stay the same size. "Toning" is not a thing. Why weight machines rather than free weights? I suggest using a beginner's lifting program like Stronglifts 5x5 instead of relying on weight machines that will do nothing for your core or functional strength. Fat does not turn…
  • You're shaking because some guy gave you his phone number? I'm not entirely convinced that this story is even true, but you've got some issues if this is all it takes to freak you out. Chill, dude.
  • My day is quite literally ruined by overflowed oatmeal. It fills me with rage for some reason.
  • I just do it. Simple as that.
  • I'm up at 4 Monday-Friday to lift. I take a pre-workout (or coffee if you prefer), but I don't eat until after my workout. I have a garage gym, so I'm in there about 20 minutes after waking up.
  • I had a piece of cookie butter protein cheesecake as a post-workout meal this morning (IIFYM win) and I just ate an Oh Yeah One bar as a mid-morning snack. Both have other 20 grams of protein and are 200ish calories each. I also really love protein waffles/pancakes and protein oatmeal. Omelets are great as well.
  • What does "easiest to eat" mean? What do you find difficult to eat?
  • If you can eat it and it has nutritional value (macros/micros), then it's food. Pretty sure every single person on MFP eats real food.
  • Well, your elbows shouldn't be flared out for a proper push-up, so there's one issue. Keep your elbows closer to your body when you do it. Not against your body (that's a tricep push-up), but like this: My guess it's a matter of strength - you're not strong enough to push your body weight off the floor. You can start with…
  • She's a spokesperson for veganism and the vegans seem to worship this chick. She's attractive and has a decent body, so of course she knows what she's talking about, right? And she's controversial, which is interesting to a lot of people. I personally find her and her boyfriend incredibly annoying, so I don't watch their…
  • And your health is at stake if you eat at a meal at a friend's house without weighing each and every morsel you put in your mouth? Come on now...
  • I definitely don't, and it has nothing to do with what other people will think about me. I only eat out at a restaurant once per week unless I'm having a fat kid Saturday when I eat out for every meal. I've never brought a scale to a restaurant. The only time I eat at someone else's house is during the holidays, and…
  • Are you not eating after 5PM for some reason?
  • For me? No. For others? Sure, if you enjoy it. I get up at 4 in the morning to lift, so I'm not going to go until noon or later before eating. If I start my window at 6:30 when I usually eat my post-workout meal, that means I'd have to stop eating early- to mid-afternoon, meaning I'd go home from work and have no dinner…
  • ...then don't eat breakfast. Problem solved.
  • The idea of eating frozen TV dinners every day....yuck. Not because it's "not healthy," but because 1) they don't taste that great, 2) the portion sizes are ridiculously small, and 3) they cost more than something you can easily make at home, even if you're not a chef. I do cook, but I don't consider myself an expert by…
  • I'm 5'5", 26, currently 124-125lbs. I lift 5x/week + 2 HIIT sessions + 1 optional plyo/conditioning day. Otherwise, I have a desk job. I maintain around 2150 and cut at around 1850 to lose relatively slowly.
  • Heavy, compound lifts first, always. If you're doing more than one heavy compound lift (with an upper lower split, for instance), I would prioritize them based on your goals. For instance, an upper body day may consist of bench press, row, and shoulder press. If I were you, I would do it in that order. That way you're…
  • I originally wanted to drop down to 125 lbs, but ended up going as low as 116 and then hovered between 118 and 121 until I decided to bulk. Your weight will fluctuate daily, so don't get hung up on a number. Get to 180 and reevaluate. I like to go by how I look/feel rather than what number the scale says.
  • I've only been on one trip without my husband, and we weren't even married at that time. I went to the beach for a long weekend with three female friends. It was kind of fun for the most part, but ended with two of the girls mad at each other and giving each other the silent treatment. Lovely. I now only vacation with my…
