The people on here are so supportive--at least the ones I have been in contact with. It also has helped me to join a challenge. They are happening all the time. Just keep your eyes out...

What about a cheesecake? And I do love some carrot cake--with no raisins, tho!
-
I have given up on home scales! I weigh in at curves (with a doctor-type scale) or at the health room at my school--same kind of scale. They are the most accurate. And I don't obsess about weighing in everyday!!
-
I do have friends that I work out with--depending on what time of day I go. That is great that you have friends that like different things...spices up your workouts!

Didn't mean to post twice...I couldn't tell if it was posting, so I hit post again...SORRY!

I like that you plan to make a routine to fit your schedule. Each week I write in my planner what days I will go to Curves...otherwise, I will not go!! I usually go the same days, but like next week we are off of school on Monday, so I will get up and go when Curves opens.

Healthy, what can we do for you? Are you getting enough of the right kinds of foods? Are you drinking any water? How can we help you??
-
That is so cool that others have noticed your hard work!! Keep it up...and congrats on the running!

Hey, we are at the same place. I was really only trying to lose a pound a week, as well. I am assuming that it may not stay that much for too long...I will take what I can get!
-
So psyched! I lost 3 pounds--down to 221! Almost to my Feb 1 goal...not really trying to lose more than a pound a week, but I will take what I can get. I am sure it will not always be this much. I am sticking to my calories and trying to exercise 3 or 4 times a week. I am also trying to get my 4 to 5 cups of water in, too.
-
That seems like a drastic jump in calories!
-
SUPER Job at finding an alternative instead of ditching the exercise!! :-)
-
Forgiven...go read a book or go play with the kids (if you have any) or go look for a great movie that will totally distract you. Read through the message boards, or call somebody and talk for awhile! You can rebound!!
-
Me too...do you have stairs? or OnDemand? There are some fitness videos for free at exerciseTV or fitnessTV...you could always do some strength excercises, too...I know they don't subtract calories, but I bet you will feel better!

forgive me for asking... what is bump?

If you know where you are going out to eat, look up their menu online. It was so comforting to know what I was going to eat ahead of time when we decided to go out to eat this past weekend.
-
Mirah, don't feel guilty. You got back to it and it takes time to make such a lifestyle change. If it were easy, we all would be at our goal weight already. You didn't get this way on one weekend, so it will take us some time to REALLY make a change. I am proud of you for getting back to focus for the week. :-)

I did see someone's food diary that had some hungry girl items on it...let us know how you like them. Do you plan your snacks and meals out ahead of time? I tend to do better when I go to work because I plan out my meals and snacks. So, the stress can't really get to me food-wise.
-
We TOTALLY ROCK!!! I am impressed with the commitment we have put forth this week. We need to keep our commitment strong to see this to the end. Stay focused and prepared...Love Ya, Michelle

Do you have stairs? Sometimes I walk up and down my stairs or do "step" aerobic moves at the bottom step. It burns some calories. Or go on demand and check out exercise tv. You can always do crunches and lunges and squats, but they are not cardio.

Great Job!!

Is 1200 calories enough? Did you have any exercise? Were your portions accurate? Don't give up! It might take your body another week before it starts to lose weight...
-
We'll be thinking of you...make a plan ahead of time of when you can exercise. I find that I have to enter it in my planner just like an appointment. You can do it!!
-
I make a cajun spice "rub" and bake them with that on them. You can probably find a simple recipe online...I think I use cumin, chili powder, garlic powder and a couple other spices.
-
just make sure you get your rest while you are sick

I found that when I exercised right after school it curbed the snacking I always want to do at that time of day. I also didn't have snacks during the day at school. I like to keep eclipse gum in my purse and when I feel like a snack, I chew some gum. It gives me the sweetness I want.
