Congratulations on reaching your goal!! WhooHoo!! Thanks for being such an inspiration! I just love it when someone posts that they've reached their goal. It shows the those of us that are still working on it that it IS possible. Thanks for posting! :D

I second the recommendation of seeing a dentist who specializes in TMJ. I used to suffer from this problem for years and the only time I had what I thought was a sore throat was also from jaw dislocation. It took a special dentist, a bite guard and physical therapy to get it back in place and reduce the pain and swelling.…

WhooHoo!!! Congratulations!! Way proud of you, a fellow MFPer! Hopefully, next year I'll run my first one. So excited for you! Jingle them bells! :D

So sorry to hear of your sad news. Positive thoughts and prayers are coming your way. You said it yourself so you KNOW that eating your emotions only make things worse in the long run. Though difficult, this is a time for your to learn to deal with feelings in a different way - journaling, exercising, blogging, counseling,…

1. to rekindle old friendships 2. to go back to work and rekindle some of my professional relationships. Besides, I'm SO BORED! 3. to travel more with friends and family - doesn't matter how far, just to get out of Dallas a few times this next year 4. continue to work on nutrition and exercise

Congratulations!!!! Stick with it. I know sometimes it's day by day or minute by minute but its worth it! Good job!!

It's easy and versatile. I can't tell you how many events I take this to because people ask me to make it again & again. I personally think it's better the next day. ;)

I have a piece of fruit or small glass of juice 20 minute before exercising and within 20 minutes of completing my routine I knock back a protein drink. I like Unjury Chocolate. Tastes like chocolate milk to me. I have it mixed and ready in my locker for when I'm done.

I just started working with a personal trainer and mentioned I was on the lookout for a BodyBugg and she suggested otherwise. Apparently, they've been doing some work with both in our fitness center and feel like BodyMedia, while, the concept is good, needs just a little more time to perfect things. I went for the HRM for…

If you're trying to cut down on the calories of the olive oil, try Pam or some other spray cooking oil. Otherwise, Olive oil is still one of the healthiest to use. In fact, doesn't Pam have an Olive oil spray?

Are these waterproof? Can they be worn while swimming laps? Just wondering... Thanks!

Another Dallasite weighing in. Was told by my personal trainer just yesterday to try Luke's Locker as proper fit was SO important. Some stores will put you on a treadmill to see what your gait looks like. Does one foot turn slightly in? Are you slightly dragging your left toes? Professionals can put you in the right shoes,…

Oh, and don't forget to reward yourself! Whether it's a new piece of clothing, a massage that will ease your stress, Be good & kind to yourself.

You're young and very involved. At the risk of sounding old and dated, think about how much more difficult "work, classes, clinicals, lack of sleep" would be if you failed to get control of weight now and, perhaps, over the years put on more lbs. We already know that exercise is a stress-buster and mood enhancer which…

Amen! Great post! I blogged about this in my own personal situation not long ago. As someone who's had weight loss surgery but is now eaty dense food again, I can only hold very small amounts in my stomach. My body will not let me "eat my emotions" any more. I have no idea but to face those "gaps", as you call them and,…

Happy December1, Ladies! Wanted to make sure I'd gotten this lined up in my topics and to post this months' goals. I've posted in the 100 or more to lose group but also wanted to reiterate here so that I am constantly reminded, my goals this month are threefold: 1) workout with my trainer twice a week and walk at the lake…

Howdy from another Texan! Native Dallasite here. Welcome to MFP. I looked at livestrong but found I really liked it here better but judge for yourself and find out which meets your needs best because in the end it's about YOU and what will help you reach your goals and motivate you the most. Take care, Priska

LOVE, love my iPhone. I'm on my 2nd one but then I'm a Mac geek at heart.

Mine is public as well. I'm aiming for 50% protein, 20% carb and 30% fat as set by my nutritionist. Feel free to look around although I'm fairly new and don't have a lot of history yet. Am open to any food suggestions as this is all new to me and I tend to get stuck in ruts. My only exception is soy & soy products - cannot…

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!! You look great!! What a wonderful inspiration you are. Thanks so much for posting. Keep up the good work! :D

I lost over 100+ pounds about twenty years ago and it stayed of for, maybe, a year. Since then I've lost 60+ pounds several times, 40 lbs. etc.. The "lifestyle" thing just never sunk in with me. I understand and believe in the principle, yes, I really do but had a difficult time living with it. I also don't think I was…

This presupposes that most people watch what they eat & drink BEFORE losing weight. If that was the case, most people wouldn't have much, if any excess weight to lose. There are growing circles that are following the news released pre -2008 that 64 oz. of water a day is a myth. Does it help flush your body of toxins…

Welcome! You've made the right choice to come here. It's a great place w/ lots of support. Look around and find a group that interests you. Make friends with those that support you and check in daily to log food. You've made a great start by identifying some of your weak spots. It must be tough knowing you have a little…

As a licensed esthetician, I'm handing this one to Team Cate...kinda. You can tone the muscle under the skin but as for "toning skin" for reasons of shrinking or going back to it's original size & shape, the answer is hefty NO. Skin tone refers to pigmentation. Whether or not your skin does tighten is the results of many…

There isn't much I don't like but I do have a short list: french fries & most potato stuff (but not all potato dishes) cooked spinach (ugh!) but raw spinach is awesome! melted cheese - gawd, I have to agree! On most things I ask for it to be left off like onion soup, baked pastas, etc. When eating pizza, if there's a lot…

I take the following daily: Calcium Citrate (make sure you know what kind of calcium you're taking!) Multi Vitamin for bariatric patients D3 B12 Biotin (for hair & nails - I get an extra jolt of thiamin from my multi) All are from Opurity and are chewable. I LOVE them! Opurity are the same folks that make Unjury protien if…

ceomrman - I've been sitting here reading the study all afternoon only to find you've posted a great synopsis of it here. Thanks! I do agree, if you just have to have soda, sugared is probably the choice to make, Artificial sweeteners cross the blood brain barrier just like sugar and with so much controversy over what they…

I've had this same rash before though mine usually occurs under my breasts. It's very common where skin touches skin. There's an Rx powder called Nystatin that will get rid of this rash usually with one prescription...just a couple of days' use actually and it's gone. The key is keeping the area clean, very dry and…
