Completed W3D1 last night. That's right, I "ran" for 3 minutes straight, twice!! AND I only had 1 rest day in between (normally I leave 3-5 to not overtax my knee and foot injuries). It's starting to look like I might really be able to do this thing! ETA: I do a 30 minute circuit training set followed by lots of stretching…

It took me 4 tries to get through week 1, day 1 due to extreme leg pain...I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd tried to start on week 2! Go at your own speed and listen to your body. I leave several days between runs because I have injuries that I have to listen to. Everyone has to do it the way that works for…

I just finished week 2, and am thoroughly amazed at myself. :-) I leave more days between my runs than it suggests because I have knee and foot injuries that I have to listen to, but I will make it to the end of the program eventually!

Hey! There are several apps that will take you through it, just pick one that works for you. I just finished week 2, and so incredibly proud of myself! It took me 4 tries to get through week 1, day 1, but once I accomplished that, the rest has been going a lot more smoothly. The apps/websites say to leave 1 or 2 days…

I do love my FT4, but no, there are no seconds on the clock face. It does give you seconds if you are in workout mode though.

Mine was when my mother said, "The doctor says I've crossed the line from pre-diabetic to diabetic." That leaves me as the only person in my family that is NOT diabetic, and I have no intention of letting it happen without a fight!

I have a Ninja...it does a great job on everything!

I think your dog and mine would be great friends. Same poop philosophy!
-
Hahaha...mine would poop in motion, just because it would be a fun new trick. I swear mine can go twice before we leave home, but still wants to find a nice spot on our route, just to show she's been there.

My dog wears a harness when we go out, and I tie the bag to the side of her harness and let her carry it. Obviously this only works if your dog is tall enough :-)

Gotta try this!

Their base numbers are based on an average person. Unless you get your BMR or RMR tested to get your own personal real numbers, you can't really know how you measure up to the "average" and adjust accordingly. Do some research in your area and see if you can get tested. For me it was worth the price, without a doubt.…

Dark chocolate over 70% cocoa will satisfy the chemical craving that you're having (a valuable tidbit I learned at a wine and chocolate tasting!). I like the Ghirardelli dark chocolate, and it comes at different intensities. Only 1 square followed by a few minutes of patience, and my cravings disappear!

From Livermore, CA, but unfortunately living on the East Coast (for now!)

Congratulations, that's awesome!! Unfortunately my bottom half shops in one half of the store and my top half in the other...the salespeople look at me really weird as I traverse from side to side. :-/

I had several injuries when I started this process, so I purposely sought out a trainer with that expertise. I found that having a trainer from the beginning really helped me be more motivated (since I was paying), and less overwhelmed by the all the gym had to offer. I meet with my trainer every other week, and sometimes…

I really like Muscle Milk powder (for the flavor and the protein content). I have chocolate, vanilla, and strawberries and cream currently, and I choose the one that most fits with the other items I'm going to use. I've found that too much ice/frozen fruit makes it really thick and I have to add more water; and that almond…

Hi all, just joined this group, and am glad to see so many 30-somethings! I'm 36, started on MFP roughly 6 months ago and have another 80ish pounds to go. I live in the Washington DC metro area, and I'm looking for pals that actually read my diary and what I post so that their comments are relevant, positive and helpful,…

Fantastic accomplishment! I'm only on week one, and am hoping my legs will allow me to stick with it to get to week 3!

Perfect timing...I just made my first attempt at this last night!! Let me say first that I'm not a fan of cauliflower, but I've been trying really hard to incorporate more diversity into my vegetable group. I took one head of cauliflower and cut off all the bushy parts and threw them in a microwavable bowl with some water…

Thanks ladies. I was so excited I couldn't help but share!

False. Tea, coffee, crystal light, etc., do not change the chemical structure of water (H2O). They are homogeneous mixtures of water and the other stuff. The water still exists, in its natural H2O form, and its value is the same.

Hi, I just made a great one for this week's lunches. 31 grams of protein per serving, not counting the accessories (pasta/quinoa/etc.) Beef for stew (large chunks of beef) 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup (I use the Healthy Choice variety) 1 pkg McCormick Brown Gravy mix (I use the 30% lower sodium…

You'll find this issue on the Roadmap thread frequently. Most people that have inconsistent work/exercise schedules set themselves as sedentary and then eat back their exercise calories to make up the difference. Since you've been yoyo dieting for a long time your body is probably pretty confused. I know mine was when I…
