  • I've heard that the most effective way to lose weight without feeling "starved" is to do the 40/30/30 rule. 40% Carbs, 30% Protein and 30% Good Fats. My dietician set me up with this because I am a carb junkie and this was the safest and easiest thing for me. It let's me eat carbs without feeling like they are being "taken…
  • And still do...to this day. "blubber" and all.
  • I've had a crush on Silent Bob since I was 16.
  • Welcome! This site is really helpful. If you need some support, I'm here for ya! :flowerforyou:
  • Whenever you have to essentially give up any food group or swallow any pill...that's very bad advice and some doctors should be ashamed of themselves for what they suggest. I watched my mom jump from one miracle diet or pill for her entire life. She passed away at age 46 and was never happy with her body, even though she…
  • I understand what you're going through to an extent. My son was just diagnosed with Type I Diabetes just days before he turned 12. This makes him insulin dependent so he's got to count the carbs he eats and take insulin to cover it. His problem is also portion control and eating junk. I make what I make for dinner and dish…
  • It's good to see you! I'm on my sixth straight day of logging food and exercise!
  • My son is diabetic and one day we could not get his blood sugar up and he was eating and drinking every 20 minutes....he started crying because he was soooo full, but had to keep eating to get his blood sugar up. I feel your pain.
  • I agree with almost everyone....SKIP IT!
  • Avocados! They are higher in calories and fat, but they are so good with some wheat tortilla shells or just on their own. I find when I am under calories and fat, I dice up an avocado in a bowl and eat it. Very yummy and the good kind of fat...not the bad kind. :-)
  • Thanks for the advice. I definetly do not focus on them...but they do more work than any other muscle ( minus the heart of course). I have started yoga but if I can find a good pilates dvd...that would be great. any suggestions? and mari windsor drives me nuts, fyi.
  • Hoodia is a "natural" drug. It can cause weight loss, but it does this by speeding up your heart and can lead to heart attack. Bascially, diet and exercise work. It may not work as FAST as it would when using pills, but it is MUCH safer. I want to lose weight so I can live longer. If I lose 80 pounds in one year using…
  • I really really enjoy it! It was tough at first but I was never sore the next day, because it's all stretching and breathing. I highly recommend it. I just started the second level and I won't lie...it hurts like a mother...but I think I will start to enjoy it, much like the first level.
  • I bought it about a year ago and didn't like bob so much, so it's been sitting on my shelf. However, I've been doing the weight loss yoga, so bob is starting to grow on me. I'll be in with you.
  • I love the 90 calorie Fiber One Chocolate and Peanut Butter bars! So delish and so filling!
  • Oh, I hear you! I love chocolate and if I don't get my fix....I am always afraid that I will crack and just binge. So what I've done is get chocolate pudding from Jello. I have one serving every so often (like twice a week) when my craving gets sooooo bad. Its low calorie (considering its chocolate) and I use it as a…

  • I was the same way. I'd lose 20 pounds and then start slacking. One thing that is helping me are my "mini-goals" in my signature. It helps keeps me focused when I try to tell myself that I can 'have that chocolate bar' and work it off later. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted a "bad" thing and then asked myself…

  • I will try that, thanks for the tip.
  • wow...i wake up ravenous! I mean, I crawl outta bed and turn on the morning news as I pass through the living room to the kitchen for my breakfast. I don't even think a whole 30 seconds pass from the time I wake up until the time my stomach starts hurting cuz I'm sooo hungry.
  • I have a best friend and a sister like that. If they workout with my once a month, they've met their quota. They were both my solid workout buddies for almost two whole weeks! I guess the only thing I can say is, they will not change unless they want to change. You can talk until you are blue in the face and you won't…
  • Wow, I am so messed up I guess. 150 is my GOAL weight! I am 265 pounds.
  • I added a sodium and fiber category to my food page. It helps keep me in check because I have a slight addiction to salty/processed foods. Especially the frozen food entree's like Lean Cuisine. It is a daily struggle. If you are not use to working out normally, your body could be holding onto the weight (because it is such…
  • Jillian Michaels is one of my heros. When I saw the she was endorsing a weight loss pill...it hurt me soooo bad. I always looked at her as an all natural, pain is fear leaving the body, you can do it type....pills make things worse. Some of the side effects can mess with your heart. I have an aunt who died from taking FDA…
  • Can't speak, mouth is on the floor...I mean, good job! You do look amazing, but I'll be you feel better than you look! Keep it up, man!
  • Don't forget...lots of stretching and get in some resistance training as well. Women really need to lift weights to increase their bone density....wolff's law.
  • That sounds very smart. You've got a good system in place. This is all about changing your life and some people start and they workout for 2 hours a day...but in real life, two hours is a lot of time. I think with your 30-45 minute routine you will be able to maintain that. Good for you!
  • I did a huge report on Alli last semester for school and it's parent drug (ORLISTAT) is known to cause pre-cancerous changes in your intestines. Alli is simply ORLISTAT at a lower dosage. I wouldn't chance it, but then again I had an aunt who died from using Phen-Fen and my mother died from cancer...so both things kind of…
