Red pin marks them....... definitely worth your time.... may want to print them out for continual ready reference. There is always…
  • When you are breast feeding it is very important that you get adequate nutrition throughout the day. Don't skimp in the mornings. Best to spread it out over the day. You actually won't be as hungry if you eat adequately in the morning! Most importantly pay attention to WHAT you eat. When you try to make the best food…
  • I think we should all try the great ideas posted here and report back! Thanks everyone!
  • I use prograde vanilla protein powder (purchased online) and add fresh fruit and skim milk. Banana improves texture and I like to use frozen blueberries or other berries. I don't add any sweeteners the fruit is sufficient for me. I usually add some small ice cubes to thicken it more. My recipe makes about 5 cups so you…
  • I have several favorite breakfasts that I like to alternate. This morning I had: Breakfast: steamed spinach, tomato and egg topped with 7g cheese (about 1/12 of a cup). Yesterday I had a protein shake smoothie ( a little different than usual because I had some leftover kefir). regular is : 1 Cup skim milk, 1 scoop protein…
  • I do yoga 3 days a week. I do cardio at the fitness center 3-5 days a week in an interval training pattern. Example: treadmill at 4mph with 6mph bursts. I am working at increasing my burst times and intensity. Sometimes I work on my elliptical at home. I generally go as fast as I can for a minute at a time, and then slow…
  • When you go to check-in and add the current weight and measurements the ticker will update.
  • Actually controlling diet in small ways is a very important factor (portion size) and High Fructose Corn Syrup avoidance is a great place to start...... find exercise you enjoy that is fun and make it an integrated part of your life. Good Luck! If you happen to drink pop of any kind, reducing that and replacing with water…
  • Check out the other posts on Recipes, eg: Talapia, also chicken recipes. As long as your fish is the milder tasting variety any of the spice combination and cooking methods mentioned could be used....... Endless variations for tasty meals.... Happy cooking!
  • Play around with your favorite basic recipe. First reduce the sugar in original recipe, then try as others have suggested using honey, agave nectar, raw sugar, etc. Most recipes call for a lot more sugar than is needed. Agave nectar is (I believe) 20 times sweeter than sugar, so a lot less is needed and wouldn't upset the…
  • I was just going to post TAMTASTIC's recipe for chicken thighs, the same spice combination would be great on Tilapia as well! Others have used these seasonings on chicken breasts, flounder, etc. with great success! Definitely worth a try: Spicy Honey-Brushed Chicken Thighs Skinless, boneless thighs cook quickly and are…
  • A simple but yummy way to cook Tilapia or chicken breast that my daughter told me about is to cook slightly in a non-stick pan, and then finish cooking with your favorite Vinegarette, Just a Tablespoon or two, just enough for flavor. I really like tomato-basil Vinegarette. I've also used walnut rasberry. There are a large…
  • Sounds yummy! Thanks for posting!
  • I've never tried the powder, but I do have some protein bars that use it. I'll do some research and see what I can find out... The protein bars are paired with chocolate, and are quite tasty. They are called Prograde Cravers.
  • Thank you so much for your comments! I will also look for the book you mentioned. I have a family member who has struggled with anxiety and depression. We had support from the church, but we don't mention specifics to other people, because most do not understand. Others can identify with a broken limb or such, but in…
  • I wish you well too. It may seem weird, but there are several in my community that have been treated with NAET therapy, that is actually working for them. I call it Vodoo! but when I see it working for people, I have to believe even though I don't understand how it works. NAET.com tells about it. It is based on different…
  • Happy to see that you are on the path to better health. Best wishes to you and your success at reaching your goals, I know you will achieve them. :flowerforyou:
  • The most common reaction I get if I go out to eat is dry mouth, because of all the sodium and sugar in the prepared foods. I don't ever go to fast food places, so it might be something else at those places. Sorry, probably not much help.
  • Thanks for all the good info. I have a lot of friends that would love to have this information, besides myself.
  • I can't even remember how long ago I was diagnosed and started on the medication, at least 10 or 15 years. Anyway I can agree that losing weight is definitely in the slow and steady realm, but that is the best way to shed it anyway. Let's all just keep moving. Take care everyone, Shari
  • Don't apologize or refrain, I found the article interesting and of value. This year the senior centers started a walk around the world program. I do some on the elliptical, treadmill, dancing, yoga and such, but I do a tremendous amount of walking around town. I move every chance I get, and I enjoy it. If it's close enough…
  • Interesting experiment! Water is definitely my beverage of choice!
  • I totally agree with you in that the specific amount is variable, but the numbers give a good guide to what is needed on a general basis. On cold less active days I may only need 6-7 glasses of water. Some days, even cold ones when I've been very active I may feel thirsty still after 10 glasses. I don't think you should…
  • We like to cook it in a small amount of a vinaigrette such as Kraft Sun Dried Tomato, or Raspberry/Walnut or a variety of others. It adds very little calories and really enhances flavor. We use this with chicken breast as well!
  • bump, How long will this hold in the fridge? ( does it have to be used within the standard 3 days?)
  • I sell fresh produce from my garden at the local farmers market in the summer, and I usually charge about the same or a little less than the store. We are very small and only have about 10 vendors. Everything is organic, but it is not certified, as that would increase my costs too much. Our market does not have large…
