For me, I started walking to maintain my sanity/for the anti-depressant effects during a rough time. Then, I started hula hoop dancing and it got me back into dance, which I used to do from the time I was little through college and just sort of let fade out of my life. When I started hooping, I realized I couldn't practice…

All I know is the ads for the new Crazy Cheesy Crust Pizza at Pizza Hut are driving me to distraction. This does not appear to be a healthy option but ooooooooh. It could be worth a nice long run to try it...

Love omelets! I find it's a great way to use up leftover meats and veggies that I've got that aren't enough to do much else with too. I made a great one yesterday with leftover grilled red peppers, asparagus, onions and just a tough of extra sharp cheddar. YUM! I make a 4 egg one and split it with my husband, took less…

I did this recently and didn't have too much trouble, I packed a cooler with a lot of fruit, lower fat cheeses, sandwich fixings, etc. Also you can't get in much trouble most fast food places with a grilled chicken sandwich hold-the-mayo.

FindMyFriends app would work if you have iphones, it's not running related but you can track your friends that are signed up, it works great for events like this, theme parks, etc. My husband and I use it when he goes biking and I run so that he can loop around and find me.

LOVE the MFP way of eating my exercise calories back, nothing has ever motivated me to workout as much as I have been on this system. I have my activity set as lightly active - it was sedentary at first but I found I was losing weight faster than what I set my goals to and I was feeling hungry, so I figured I must be more…

Don't bother...you'll just gain weight your first year married anyway. :-P OK I'm mostly kidding but...it happened to me after losing weight far too aggressively before my wedding and I know I'm not the only one! Keep working on it but please don't stress yourself too much during an already stressful time and lose it…

I carry over calories for fun weekend treats every week and it hasn't slowed me down one bit, I love my extra weekend treats!

When I was little my mom used to have an organic vegetable garden so...all manner of little cooties could get in there if you weren't really careful while washing the stuff before cooking. I still remember the day I almost ate an inchworm hidden in my broccoli. *shudder*

Congrats Maryann you look so great & happy! Also--those glasses are adorable on you!! :D

I felt the same when I started here, a lot of big life changes, the loss of my mother, so much going on in my head and I was feeling very depressed, frustrating and eating and drinking my way to my highest weight ever! All I can say is try to take really good care of yourself, by making your body healthy, hopefully your…

"Friend" hmmmmmmm??? Well they feel horrible....but if I have a hangover and can drag myself to workout, take a long hot shower and eat a big breakfast I usually feel 90% better.

Wow!! You look beautiful in both these photos but what an amazing success story! Way to go!

This was me! Half & Half, Sugar AND Raspberry syrup every single morning!! Now I drink coffee with a lighter milk (either skim, 2% or almond depending on what's on hand) and sugar-free flavor syrups for the day-to-day. I love green tea too and drink it in the afternoon, it has helped keep me away from the office vending…

I'm in the exact same boat, I moved earlier this month and I'm having a blast now taking my time unpacking my clothes (ranging from size 4-14) and delighted that I am in a size 8 now, which is majority of my wardrobe! In fact one of the main things motivating me to lose weight was not wanting to have to go and buy all new…

I'm doing the c25k program verrrrrry slowly, basically I do one or 2 of the workouts on the program a week and then I do 1 or 2 other runs on my own that are similar to what I do in the guided program or slightly easier. You can also repeat workouts or weeks if you need to, everyone told me to just go at my own pace. So…

Could be because you are more fit now and the exercise is getting easier? Maybe try some intervals? Moving to a desk job was a big part of me gaining, so I try to stay a little active, take breaks to stretch, move around the office, walk with a coworker at lunch, etc...

Zyrtec is supposed to be non-drowsy but I have heard of it making people drowsy like this sometimes too. I use Allegra (fexofenadine) and have no side effects from it, it's a one a day pill so you could take at night if you notice any issues. Good luck, my allergies have been brutal all week too!

I use an electronic cigarette and it has been almost a year now since my last cigarette, I feel better in almost every way and started my weight loss journey about 2-3 months after switching. I was not "ready to quit" at the time, I did it because my husband was having health issues and I wanted us to quit together, we…

I'm about halfway through the program with asthma, I use an inhaler before I run. If it is a really bad day for allergies though I will sometimes skip running and do an indoor workout. Many parts of the US have severe allergy warnings right now and I did have to skip a run this week, is it possible this is affecting you?…

Bump from an asthmatic ex-smoker learning to run who would like to know this too. ;-)

While running or cycling I just zone out, think about my breathing and watch the world around me. While lifting weights or doing body weight stuff at home, I think about not stepping on my 4 cats who like to "help". Exercise is mostly a nice break from thinking for me!

Too much hostility toward rice cakes in this thread! OM nom nom... Also: put cream cheese on them.

Logging my food. Upped the intensity of my workouts Reduced the calories in my morning latte from 150 to about 40 by swapping out high calorie sweeteners and creamers for low sugar/low fat alternatives.

I love SELF magazine (I get a free subscription using my coca cola points w00t!). Lots of great recipes and workouts in there and they encourage healthy, sensible diets. Cover lots of other health issues for women too as well as fitness fashions and your general "girly" stuff. I think they promote very healthy messages,…

They can pry the Coke Zero out of my cold dead fingers!! I drink 1-2 cans a day and have never noticed any more sweet cravings or other issues. However if you are trying to reduce caffiene and don't drink coffee, 6 of these a day seems excessive. I'd try to mix in some decaf stuff, iced green tea, soda water with a twist,…

I sleep in a sports bra & tee shirt I'll work out in the next day with tennis shoes, socks, and shorts near the bed to slide into as soon as I roll out, this is a huge help for me to get it done first thing in the morning, before my shower so I won't have to shower again later. Having 4 cats who like to fight under the bed…

I went through years of horrible back pain and unsympathetic, unhelpful doctors. UGH! I finally found a new doctor who insisted I get a spine Xray and referred me to physical therapy and it made a WORLD of difference to me, I got lucky and found a great therapist who was able to teach me lots of exercises to strengthen my…
