  • I'm sure you'd be just as well off with a bottle of pixie fairy dust... http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=25911447&cm_mmc=SEM-_-Google-_-PLA-_-25911447
  • The FIRST TIME I started dieting in 2009, I lost NINE pounds the FIRST NIGHT. I basically cut out sodas, exercised, and drank like a fish that FIRST day, and I was shocked on the scale the next day. HOWEVER, weight loss slowed GREATLY after that. You have to expect this, and not let it get you down. The second time I tried…
  • Screw 'im. I have more respect for the single mom on MFP who's lost 50 pounds while working two jobs - all with no other drugs than perhaps caffeine and Ibuprofen... It just goes to show how we inappropriately label people as "celebrities" and then let them become more significant than the rest of us. Personally I love…
  • Well I AM 33 and HAD 70 to lose... I only have about 20 left to go though... :) It can be done - just gotta keep with it. Make good decisions over a LONG period of time and don't worry about slipping up once in a while - it'll help you keep your sanity while still seeing progress. Good luck!
  • Lol - I'm 33 and just had a baby in... ...whoa, next Monday will be 3 weeks! Well okay, the wife had the baby - I... ...sat there and felt useless. 21 pounds left to go...
  • Very, very impressive. Congratulations.
  • I posted baby pictures on MFP... And Facebook has the "ignore all posts from ______" button... Very handy...
  • I love everyone telling the OP to avoid sour cream, salsa and guacamole. I put all three of those toppings on my mexican salads SEVERAL times a week. People REALLY need to educate themselves before they talk.
  • 1) Order food 2) Eat food Stop acting like one meal is going to make you "fat." Friday 1/4/13 I had dinner at BD Mongolias. I had a giant 20+ ounce beer, 4 plates of stir-fry with meats, veggies and sauces, a glass of sangria, and wrapped it up with deep-fried Oreos with chocolate drizzle and ice cream. I was 201 that…
  • Best. Web address. Ever.
  • PS - We've gotten the hair under control, by the way, but she's just SUCH a little drama queen already...
  • Then you were lied to. If a McRib is 500 calories, there's no way in the world a cheesesteak is 2,500. Maybe a 2-footer with double meat and cheese-wiz in Southside Philadelphia...
  • Don't do that - don't make these kinds of convictions. I've lost weight eating McRibs at McDonalds this winter. It's not about bad food - it's about bad eaters. You're here - that's step one. So figure out what your daily calorie intake needs to be and aim for it. If you want a cheesesteak, get one! Or make one at home…
  • Lol - thanks for the encouragement. :) I almost sold the Viper because we still have payments, but I refinanced and that helped a LOT. And guess what - the Viper has the LATCH system for car seats - EVEN IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT!!! (There'll be a picture here in the summer - you can be sure of it!) Thanks everyone. She really…
  • John Pinette: "I tried the low carb diet... They said, 'Oh, after a few days you won't have any more cravings...' Well I had cravings!!! When you see a Krispy Kreme and you jump out of a moving vehicle - that's a craving!!!"
  • *ahem* Ditto... I gladly offer second (and always positive) opinions on boob-size. Let me know if you'd like to make use of my services! lol
  • I got to thinking of this yesterday as my wife still has one of these tucked in her belly. And since she's 4'11" we learned today (they're actually worried that she's underweight a bit) I can say that I've lost NINE (and a half) little newborn babies.
  • Try using some different sites to determine a better base-metabolism rate. I don't like the fact that MFP only has 4 options, including sedentary. Most other sites have at least 5. See what those sites estimate your BMR to be, then knock of the standard 500 calories and see where that leaves you.
  • I used to hate the way beer tasted, too... ...I got over it.
  • My family started a traidition of home-made pizzas back in the late 80's when my dad last his job and had two young boys expecting Christmas presents without really understanding "economy." So to save money, they made pizza for dinner. It ended up being a HUGE event for the family because everyone works in the kitchen…
  • Heading to the one in Robinson tonight! Now I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time...
  • None of this matters since the world is ending in 9 days, people!!! (lol)
  • Man I hope I can resemble something similar to that in another 22 pounds or so... :) Congratulations.
  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeup - 1,200 calories of F%$KING AWESOME. Thus the "screw the diet" declaration. I'm not at all saying "Eat anything you want at Subway and you'll lose weight." I'm saying that I decided to take a "break" from all the counting and measuring and worrying and the results were frankly surprising. I didn't…
  • I'm a beer-maker myself. Have a "Poopy Diaper Ale" Milk-Stout fermenting as I type. It's a commemorative beer for my first-born daughter due in January. I've even designed custom bottle labels for it. I have tried to keep some calories free for the occasional brew - luckily beer doesn't have NEARLY as many calories…
  • Actually you are correct - that was the first sentence of my post. I just wanted to rant. And you're also right - I don't really have time for P90X, at least not right now. And yes, I need to stop eating crappy. I just have such crazy munchies at night - it's driving me nuts. For what it's worth, I was very active…
  • Come on Cindy - do a little more reading! I didn't actually watch any TV - it was simply on while I was moving boxes, cleaning a room, reorganizing furniture, etc! You kinda missed my hidden jokes there. Bazingah... Pfff - I don't watch TV... I can't remember the last time I just sat and watched TV... In fact, I…
  • Well thanks. I know everyone is "busy" - hell that's what everyone says when you ask "how are you" - "tired" is always the answer. I'm like, "Yeah no *kitten*..." Sorry I just sorta snapped a little as I "try" to keep moving these days more than I have my entire life and someone says, "try harder..." The tip I have…
  • 45 pounds since late March/early April. Never took starting pics - a decision I now regret a bit. I averaged .18 pounds a day or 5.4 days to lose 1 pound.
  • 64GB Wi-Fi iPad 4. Engraved on the back... Says "The ViperMan"
