Sure! First of all, our bodies are built to consume fat - it is indeed what allowed our species to survive evolution. Early humans enjoyed chewing on sugar cane, but survived on animal proteins and fats. (http://www.ancient-origins.net/history/history-sugar-food-nobody-needs-everyone-craves-004406) What I was surprised I…

I was really curious what kind of denial I would find in this topic. Kinda funny how people are convincing themselves that the topics of this show are fake, despite the sources provided throughout the show, and the medical professionals who appear throughout. I personally found it quite interesting, and based on my own…

ViperMan! Also, feel free to check out my brewery page - "ViperDen Brewery". I've got some neat stuff coming out in the next few months that I'd be willing to trade with people!
-
Yes, trade we did! :) It's because of you that I have a (new) bottle of CEO Stout in my basement. When I was up in Michigan a few months ago I picked one up! I've had people reach out to me through Untappd.com and ask for trades. It's hard to determine if someone is trustworthy, so the best I can suggest is to keep your…

Haven't been around in a while, but the Strawberry Blonde is delicious!!! Doesn't have quite the aroma I was aiming for, but has a nice, well-detectable taste of strawberries. I used preserves to really punch it up. I love it!

I had every intention of making my Strawberry Blonde this past weekend, but my 7-month old had other plans... Not only did I not brew, I hardly slept all weekend, either!

Had me a B-Craft Black by Arcadia - very nice if not just a little flat it seemed (bought just a few weeks ago) and a Double Trouble by Founders.

Yeah I on the other hand am a big fan of the sweet beers. Here's the bottle! Oh - and these are my custom caps.

I have been meaning to ask you how the heck you've managed to lose 82 pounds after seeing your activity on Untappd... I mean you don't hit the brews as hard as I tend to from time to time, but it doesn't look like anyone's forgetting your name at the local watering hole!! At least 3 last night I see!

I bottled that S'Mores beer last night as planned. Took a sample of it - it sure is interesting! It has a VERY boozy nose which has me a little worried (the last beer that did this was that chocolate raisin beer and it never got better in the bottle.) But as you sip, the graham crackers comes through strongly, the…

That's funny - I shoulda found this topic a week ago. I was just in Grand Rapids - had a few beers at Founders. I started my weekend at the Michigan Beer Fest (see BigDog's post on that) and ended up with Founders and Schmohz in Grand Rapids. Schmohz was surprisingly good for being such a hole-in-the-wall! I've traded with…

Hopefully they're in class, making something useful out of their lives!

Walk. Walk to class. Or bike - that works too. Don't take a bus. Most college kids can generally eat what they want (within reason) because they're so incredibly active just in their day-to-day lives that they're burning calories like crazy. Now yes, I know - the "Freshman Fifteen" - that pretty refers to alcohol, and the…

If we're not to believe everything we see on TV, we should believe even less of what we see on YouTube...

I also just realized that Mark is (I'm pretty sure) older than me, is thinner and has more hair... WTF?!

That's a really good way to do experimental recipes. A handful of my beers have been experiments like that - here's one of them: Far right - The Chocolate Grapevine. The first time I aimed for a "Brown Fruit Beer" of sorts. It come out REALLY boozy, and if you let it sit out, it'd taste better but then seemed too thin. So…

Oh man... Let's talk about beer on decks and recipes!! First up is my 0.0 Black IPA - named after the EVE Online video game! Then there's Crazy Cooter's Apple Ale - a tart Fruit Beer made with real apples! I served this to my friends at the 2013 All-Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, PA! I also have these just now ready to…
-
(Hope you don't mind me sharing this, Mark!) Here's BigDog (left) and I (obviously right) at the Michigan Beer Fest! And I just noticed your bottle-opener ring. I have one of those too.

Testicles. That is all.

Opposite - Coffee (and the caffeine in it) boosts metabolism. I know that from a dietician I used to work with. I guess anyone can put anything online/in a book these days...
-
If someone says you're creepy on the internet you should believe them. In fact, you should believe everything on the internet - and everyone who puts it there. And you should definitely pay close attention to anyone who uses a fitness-biased website as a hub for social networking because that's obviously what it's purpose…

I'm debating posting this yet - usually it's not until page 3 or 4 where the trolls have had their fill and the serious comments begin... Yes, my friends will often support my occassional bad habit - I've had comments like, "Only one beer? Bummer..." or "Man that cake sounds amazing!" But I've chosen my friends because…
-
Why would you ask this here? NONE of these people are qualified to answer that question. Ask a doctor - they go through 7+ years of medical school for a REASON.
-
Ya know I just gotta say... I see these comments very frequently here on MFP - about people receiving snarky comments about what they're eating at home or at work... I work in an office, I've lost 50'ish pounds, and I've NEVER heard a comment like that. For one thing, people probably know me well enough to assume that I'd…
-
Eh, no, I'm not going to quit with ya... But I'll wish you luck, and applaud your ability to make a decision like this for yourself. That tends to be the problem around here - people want others to make the decisions for them.

My wife had her first baby on Christmas Eve 2012 (she's just over 5 months old). As of this mornin I believe she's 4 pounds below her pre-pregnancy weight. She's been trying hard. It can be done, and you can do it too. She's not really on MFP (she is but never uses it) so I'm afraid I can't add to your friends list, but…

I count a cup of coffee as one water. The ingredients that make coffee "coffee" are so miniscule - face it, it's simply flavored water. Even passes through a fitler and everything... I even count a soda as water (when I have one) as it too is nearly 100% water.

OP - I doubt you're even reading this anymore, but I feel obliged to help you out. You're having a battle of wits with a SEA of unarmed individuals. And despite that truth, you won't win. This is because they will eventually succeed in dragging you down to their level of ineptitude and then beating you to death with…

Yes it does, and yes it would... OP, with the exception of the dogs, your schedule sounds a good bit like mine. We also have to toss in a 30-45 minute run (with crazy rush-hour traffic) to/from the daycare every day. And there've been plenty of days when I really WANT to take a jog on the treadmill but the baby just won't…
