Walk. Walk to class. Or bike - that works too. Don't take a bus. Most college kids can generally eat what they want (within reason) because they're so incredibly active just in their day-to-day lives that they're burning calories like crazy. Now yes, I know - the "Freshman Fifteen" - that pretty refers to alcohol, and the ridiculous amount that college kids supposedly consume.
I went into PennState University at about 145 and graduated at 150, give-or-take. There were times that I'd eat a slice or two of pizza for lunch, there were times I'd polish off a foot-long sub and go back for more. I rarely took the bus if ever, lugged around my books, (remember those?!? My sister has all her books on her IPAD... What a joke...) and also being that I was a musician, often carried around my 'Cello from building to building... That sucked...
It wasn't until I graduated, got my first desk-job at a radio station, and BAM - 185.
So stay active. Don't pig out, don't get too heavy into the "frat" scene, and you'll be fine.
Good luck in college.0 -
My college had a salad bar and healthy food. Not that I cared about such things then, but I do remember them being there. We did not have internet. Jeeze I'm old.0

... We did not have internet. Jeeze I'm old.
We did not have word processing and most of us had manual typewriters. I'm OLD.0
