Tomorrow is my birthday. Going to be a crazy busy day, but I'm hoping to crack open one of my bottles of KBS before the night is over...

Lol, well as a homebrewer I can say that I've made some absolutely nasty beers, but they've all been the result of an infection, usually something that eats lactose... My first attempt at my Hazelnut Coffee Stout, as well as my first "Poopy Diaper Ale" Cream Stout were undrinkable. I had to dump 2 cases of beer! However my…

Lol... The sheer amount of dumb ideas on this website is mind-boggling... Baby food is VERY high in calories - it's supposed to be because babies NEED to put on weight and grow. For the price of a "Meal's worth" of baby food, you could make a phenomenal salad that would fill you up, be very healthy, and NOT make you look…

You're not exercising and you don't plan to do so... Okay - this is "New Topic" worthy why?? If you can't find your own amibition, don't expect me to find it for you.

I'll be 34 next Wednesday (miserable day for a Birthday!!!) There will be much beer. That is all.

Hard-boiled eggs! We just boil up a an 18-count pack every few weeks and keep 'em in the fridge. Got the munchies? DONE!

Wife likes to keep Yuengling on-hand, I like to make sure there's some Lancaster Milk Stout. We also try to keep some ciders around, like Woodhuck or Angry Orchard, and there's ALWAYS my homebrew available! Right now however I probably have close to 30 different beers in-stock, not incuding homebrews... (And there's…

Well I was curious about the "no egg" thing... You know there are literally dozens of ways to cook eggs, right? I have two eggs every single morning for breakfast - and no silly whites-only or egg-beaters or any of that nonsense. I probably prepare them at least 3 different ways each week. Add some salsa, make an…

About 8 months - started April 1st at 249, and by New Years I was 199.

You see yourself in a recent picture and don't recognize yourself. You see yourself in a mirror/reflection and find yourself checking yourself out. You find yourself considering buying clothes you would have never considered buying before...

I need to get some progress shots organized... My wife just took some pictures of me yesterday goofing off with our newborn and even I couldn't believe the difference in my face especially... I'll have to get to work on this...

I get offended by people who get offended about stupid crap... An attractive female coworker asked me out of the blue just yesterday if I had lost weight... It's only been a year, I see her every few days, but whatever... "Yeup, 54 pounds so far..." Her facial expression was unmistakeable - she was surprised! I felt like a…

I also wish I could sleep more... I also wish I could blame it on the beer or the snacking or whatever else, but I do very little of any of that... Instead, I can only blame it on the four-month old... She snacks every 2-4 hours because she's SUPPOSED to gain weight!!! :-P (lol)

Awesome - I can't imagine how you feel. Congrats and good luck.

Gotta admit - this was a fascinating read. I didn't get to read all of it, but I'm going to come back and check it out some more. As a new father of a baby girl, this is truly something I worry about - the ever-encroaching demand for perfection in advertisements like this. Honestly, I read what you do and I think, "You're…

I need a time machine... and binoculars... Mine was taken November 1st, 2008 - the day I bought it.

I'm starting to see what you meant in your first post, BigDog - there are festivals EVERYWHERE these days... I bought a ticket to a PA Microbrewery Festival right here in Pittsburgh - they've got I believe 25 PA-only breweries signed up. Then literally 2 days later I learn about a festival in Millvale PA (NE corner of…

So why not create a quick exercise called "Brewing Beer Like a Mother Trucker" and use the calorie count of "cleaning - heavy effort" as I'd think the two are pretty close, and then key in a few hours! Look at it this way - your calorie count probably isn't completely accurate for the day anyways, so it won't matter if…

I never came back here to answer any questions! That brewers meeting was a lot of fun, and I've since been to another that was ALSO a lot of fun! I used RO water for the first 2.5 years of brewing, but recently switched to plain ol' Pittsburgh tap water (I got a water profile from our water provider - our water is…

You can only buy cases from beer distributors, but have always been able to buy six-packs from bottle shops, which are usually attached to bars. Of course you usually pay more per-bottle for these. However that trend is changing rapidly around here with the craft beer craze accelerating at such a pace. Now those six-pack…

I only heard about CBS just the other day - Monday in fact, as I was getting on the waiting list for KBS. It's $160 a case when it comes around! The ticker is available for download here if you'd like! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/959816-dark-to-light-beer-ticker-image-for-download

I agree with both of ya - "rare beers" just don't make a lot of sense to me. It's not like we're buying one-of-a-kind Lamborghini's or something like that. The only thing I can think is that the actual bourbon barrels might be hard for Founders to get their hands on, and perhaps they're not "reusable" for multiple batches…

There are women on this website more beautiful than Gwyneth. Heck the one above me would be a serious contender...

Founders KBS!! I just got to try that on Saturday at a homebrewing meeting/party, and then stopped at a local distributor and put my name on the waiting list to get a case... and THEN learned that a case costs $120 bucks!!! Holy Jeebus!! Good stuff though
-
lol - I hear ya esjaygee! Only 4 days in to PCBW and I've had 19 different beers (luckily not all 12 ouncers!) Tonight I'll boost that count by SEVERAL - possibly up another nine or so. So yeah, it has definitely been fun, but you're right on the expenses and such - I'm already a good $120 into this week just on...…

BTW - nice ticker pic!

Aw heck - he's lucky I let him live after he put that Tonka truck into the top of my head 20-something years ago. LOL! I haven't enjoyed every FD beer I've had - their Cujo Imperial Coffee Stout I was really anxious for and it left me quite disappointed. However, their Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout - which is coming…
