S**t happens. Unless you're under 5 foot tall, you're still in your healthy BMI. A lot of that weight is going to come back out of your body in the next 24 hours, so don't stress until that's happened, then deal with the couple of pounds that you gained by going back to your calorie restriction as normal, it'll sort itself…

Yeah, my friends keep begging me to make them lunches, too! Other favourites are pasta mixed with pinto beans in a chilli sauce (or pesto) and some kind of chopped meat, or salad (hard-boiled egg and sliced sausage with honey-mustard dressing and croutons is one favourite, with mozzerella, peach and walnut with plum…

My son's lunch today was a breaded chicken burger in a bun with lettuce and mayo, served with a side of a raw, sliced bell pepper, a handful of carrot sticks and a houmous dip, and a bottle of water. He also had a pot of peanuts and a pork pie, because he was out at a garden centre re-potting trees in the cold so I though…

BUMP! (Aw, yeah. I would TOTALLY bump that. Repeatedly.)

Restricting calories too severely leads to binging, because your body actually NEEDS to eat more than that in order to be healthy. To maintain your weight, work out your BMR (there are loads of online calculators) and eat that number of calories plus whatever exercise calories you burn. To LOSE weight, take the above…

I went from a UK size 18 to a UK size 6/8 in a year for my wedding. Best motivation ever, congratulations! :D

Also: THESE are amazing responses and I WILL be using them in the near future. :D

A 90% recovery from ME/CFS, over 65lb shed, I can now consistently run 5k in less than 30 minutes and can complete a half-marathon. All of the people contributing to this thread are awesome. :)

I'm 5'2" and my first goal was 120. When I hit that, I decided to go for 110 then maintain there or slightly below, which I've done (I'm currently 107ish). I'm aware that it's sensible to go to about 5lbs less than you want to maintain at before switching properly to maintainance because that's the amount that your body…

I totally don't regret the KFC that I just ate because 1. It was delicious and filling, and 2. I have almost DOUBLED my BMR so far today through running 10k the walking into town and back, a couple of miles each way. Then there was supermarket shopping followed by takeout. Nyom. BTW, a reminder: Don't food shop when you're…

Yep, walking is great low-impact cardio. Also, don't forget that swimming is an all-over workout during which all of your body is supported by water, so swimming injuries are rare. :)

110lb. 5'2" tall. Size 8 UK is a little large, size 6 UK a little small (slight muffin top, only noticable to me, probably.) . I found a dress in a charity shop bearing a size 2 which is only a little loose, no idea where it's from. Also, I wear a size 2.5 / 3 UK shoes, was that part of the question..? ;)

You eat at a calorie deficit to lose weight. You can EITHER burn no calories through exercise and therefore eat no extra calories, staying within the recommended figure for your weight/height/gender (which MFP will have calculated for you and will be your calorie goal), OR you can burn extra calories and eat ONLY the…

Start small. Walk more. Build up so. so. slowly. Listen to stuff which motivates you to walk - 'Zombies, Run!' phone app is amazing, it gets you into the story so you walk more to listen to it, and then turn 'zombie chases' on when you think you might be able to jog for short periods during your run. 'Couch to 5k'…

I'm totally BUMPing this for the recipes. Also, I use a quarter of an avocado at once, cube the rest and freeze each leftover quarter in its own little tub, in a ziplock bag. It defrosts in less than half an hour and isn't brown like it would be if it hadn't been frozen.

I cannot believe I've only just seen this thread. That's brightened my day up somewhat. ;)

Yes, I get this too!

I'm now wearing all of the skinniest stuff that I kept (label says UK size 10 but I don't believe labels so much). I'm really annoyed though because I gave all of my UK size 8 and 6 stuff to my ex because she was smaller than me (not in the good way, she had an eating disorder) and I'm still losing so I'll have to actually…

I ran the numbers (see http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 which you probably have already, but another look doesn't hurt) and upped my goal calories to slightly above my BMR, while also eating back the majority of my exercise calories (worked out by MFP according to…

One way of using MFP is to set activity to 'sedentary', then log anything that increases your heart rate, because if your heart rate is increased then you're burning more calories than 'sedentary'. What raises someone's heart rate depends on their weight and their level of fitness, and also what they're used to doing…

I've been doing intermittent fasting since September, so for approximately 4 months at time of writing. I lost a stone (14lb) in the first 4 weeks doing 4:3 (fasting Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday) then switched to 5:2 (Tuesday and Thursday) and lost another stone in the next 8 weeks. It's been coming off at around 1lb per…

Bumps in the car are counted as steps because how is the fitbit to know any different unless you tell it? On the fitbit website you can log an 'activity' as transport, it has various options such as 'car, driving' and 'car, passenger' (obviously you burn more calories if you're actually controlling the vehicle). Once…

Blender + veggies. Add stuff to make veggies taste better (to you). Drink. (Seriously, try this.)

* When you drop a bit of pre-measured, pre-logged food on the floor and consider eating it even though it's now covered in cat fur. * When you decide you actually don't want to eat the ruined piece of food, but pick it up anyway so that you can weigh it and un-log that piece from your MFP diary. * When someone offers you…

... and I thought that keeping sweeteners in mine looked bad! ;)

I do that for mine! (Sometimes even with scannable barcodes handed to him.) He always smiles at me and tells me that he loves me for doing it, it's very sweet. :D
-
Actual LOL! :D
-
Aw no, don't do that! Only people who are eating the wrong things or too few calories do that, in which case you're doing it wrong!
-
Yes, totally this!! ^_^ Also: Your boyfriend appears at the doorway, says, 'Hmm, one floor left, I'll just be a moment.' and walks upstairs. Then comes back down and takes out his Fitbit Ultra, complains that it didn't register and tells it to 'Give me that blo*dy floor, you b*stard'. Yes, this actually just happened.
