treat meals? Do you ever regret them?

I regret the one I just had. What a waste! A foot long roast beef from Subway. It wasn't even good. I was really going for the bread. I love bread. But I wish I hadn't eaten it. And it was 820 calories! I could have had fajitas or something.
What have you had lately that you wish you hadn't?

No, but I've only had 3 really, and I barely went over my daily calories only one time.. and they kept me full. I'm pretty picky though, if I'm going to splurge on something, it's gotta be good, lol.0
-
Exactly! It should be worth the splurge0

Yes  I always end up eating WAY too much on "cheat meals" so I try to stay away from those altogether. The most recent was baked goods
My husband bought some different varieties of brownies and cookies from a bake sale, I said I'd only take a bite of each to taste them.. Yeah, that didn't happen. I ended up binging and eating all of it! :noway: So, I now know that sweets (mostly chocolate) is my evil weakness. haha. But it's okay, just pick up from where we left off, eating healthy again!

Only the KFC I had that I felt extremely Ill after!0

I don't do cheat meals, but do have the occasional high calorie splurge (KFC, Chinese takeaway). It's got to be worth it though, for the enjoyment. I really hate having a high calorie meal that I didn't really enjoy because I was trapped in an airport or something.0
-
Yes but that is because they are loaded with dairy and I pay dearly for it every time!0

Two days ago I bought enough Taco Bell to feed two or three people (two doritos tacos, bell grande nachos, cheesy fiesta potatoes). I was starving. The guy at the drive through put three sporks in my bag. I only needed one spork.
Been regretting that ever since...0 -

Hahaha on the sporks!!!!!!!! Too funny....   :laugh:0 -
I only regret it, when I don't enjoy it...
Healthy or not, why waste calories on food you don't enjoy.0 -
Ichiban yesterday, eccchhh! What a waste of calories0

Anytime I eat something NOT healthy I regret it (even if it's 5 hershey kisses)...after it's down my throat I'm thinking what's the point of eating it??? Last year on my birthday I allowed myself to have a big ole piece of cake and ice cream, an hour later it was coming back up, I assume because my body was like "what is this crap you just put in me!?!?" and I was so sick so now I really try not to eat bad food as it makes me sick.0
-
I only regret it if the meal wasnt what I expected. Although I regret 'healthy' meals too if it tasted bad or was bad quality.0

I totally don't regret the KFC that I just ate because 1. It was delicious and filling, and 2. I have almost DOUBLED my BMR so far today through running 10k the walking into town and back, a couple of miles each way. Then there was supermarket shopping followed by takeout. Nyom.
BTW, a reminder: Don't food shop when you're hungry. Oops.0 -

I had Subway yesterday too and it was not good at all. It wasn't a treat meal though as I still eat everything.0
-
I never regret treat foods, just badly made food! :-)0
-
Yes a chicken torta. Oh so good. But should od only eaten half.0

So true...0 -
For a cheat meal or treat, if I take one bite and don't think "OMG this is SOOOO worth it", I don't eat it. That's the only time I regret eating anything, when it wasn't worth the calories. Life's short, don't eat food you don't like.0
-
NOPE because it is the treat meals that keep me from throwing in the towel... Its knowing that I'm not giving up something FOREVER that keeps me on track.0
-
Lol @ the Taco Bell girl. I ordered the XXL nachos once and the drive thru lady said to me "Are you actually going to eat all of this by yourself?!"
I almost threw the nachos at her but then they wouldn't have ended up in my belly and my belly loves nacho cheese.0 -
Usually b/c I'm down to the last 10-15lbs. and I find even when I workout hard, and have a good deficit...even the nutrition sucks, the scale (and body) shows it. It's all about diet manipulation at this point.0
-
I don't do cheat or treat meals
I make the food I enjoy fit my day
And OP, why on earth would you keep eating something that tasted so bad?0 -
I regret them almost every time... just because when I'm full, the satisfaction is over and a healthy meal would have likely filled me just the same.
With that said, I still have them (every week and half or so).0 -
I would NOT consider Subway a treat meal. And wow, that is a lot of calories for subway. My treat meals consist of In & Out, animal style and I don't regret them
It's OK, don't feel bad just workout extra hard today!0 -
Since getting serious about losing weight, I try to avoid the treat meals as much as possible. I am going on 2 weeks strong. However, if you are from Nebraska or have ever been through Nebraska, you will know what Runza is. My mouth waters at the thought of it! I CRAVE a runza and their fries!
*cleaning the drool off my keyboard*
Today was pay day and I did bring my lunch, but as I am running errands I drive past a Runza and I tell ya, it took a LOT of will power to go the other direction. I had to talk myself out of it by telling my little naughty voice that they $6 or $7 I spend on a Runza meal would cover a full meal for my kids and I. I didn't realize how much I craved the treat food and what kind of effect it has on me. I came back to my office, ate my lunch and some carrots and drank some water. It felt good to not give in.0 -
Only if I don't go over 5,000 for the day.0
-
I don't bother eating anything that isn't completely worth it, so I have no regrets.
Except maybe that time I tried pig brains.
Nope.
Not even then. I didn't enjoy it. I almost hurled. But at least I can say, "I tried pig brains."0 -
