Hi all. I'm 34 in california. work in public ed. I'm coming back to mfp after losing 70 and regaining 50lbs. sw: 340 cw: 323 goal: health/180ish Feel free to add me.

Maybe its the way you are eating them. I never liked beets as a kid because my mother only bought canned. Try buying carrots fresh (not frozen) and roast them with seasoning.

This is good advice. Strength training is your answer, but you have to eat more protein and fats. fats are so importznt for brain functioning too. If you continue eating as you have your body, mind, and emotional state will weaken.

Hi! great idea...feel free to message or friend me. :) female 33 yr old 5'11" SW: 340 CW: 287 GW: 175 Carry it all in the mid section. lost 70lbs, gained back 20 and now trying to get back on track. 6 days a week at the gym for 1.5-2 hours and eating a minumum of 1200 and a max of 1500 net calories.

Use the mfp recommendations until you know your body better. Taking it slow is better in the long run. I've done the 1200 calorie thing, lost 10 lbs the first week and then nothing. You will slow your metabolism more eating too few calories. At 1580 calories a day I've lost 70 lbs, a pretty consistent 2-4 lbs per week. Mfp…

Out of curiosiy, you've done so well lossing 100 lbs on your own why are you getting bypass instead of continuing on your healthy living? I do not see surgery as an option for me, but I've thought about it. I'm 70 lbs down in a very very slow laborus manner.

Fantastic work! Can't see your after picture, but 79 lbs! I started at 340 and am now at 270...i'm catching up to you. :)

Thanks. :) I may not resemble a fat cat soon, but I'll still resemble a cat.

Ha. Bacon works too.

You don't want mcd's, your body is craving salt and fat and your not eating enough of it. Have avocado with salt.

Thanks for the encouragement folks. There's no giving up. :)

I get "what are you doing" a lot. And a hugely disappointed face when I tell them "eating well and going to the gym". I recently referred a person at work to mfp when she told me she was going to join weight watchers online. I find it boarding on unethical for weight loss programs to charge people money!

Fantastic success. I'm interested in which sources you so carefully chose. :)

protien! I have the same issue when I eat oatmeal, cereal, starch based foods in the morning. But, throw an egg in there and I'm good.

1. Amelia 2. 70 lbs lost so far 3. 70ish more to go (I never started with a goal) 4. Routine!!! Routinely prepare healthy foods, routinely exercise, and routinely say no thank you to treats. Its easier to maintain momentum than to start it up.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I'm with you. Started at 340 and now at 273....I've come a long way with a long way to go still :)
