  • Can anyone jump in on this one? I'm Dawn, 41 w/ 3 kids. I hate tuna and cottage cheese but I'm a total ZUMBAHOLIC!
  • There's a couple other good DVDs by Jillian. If you want a change, maybe try the Power Yoga or No More Trouble Spots for the second workout. I am personally using 30 Day Shred to supplement fitness classes, but didn't want to do it every day, so I picked up the other workouts on sale at Target! ;-)
  • Based on people that have taken my class and wear a HRM, I've never had anyone burn less than 450. I used to use 500 calories as my basic Zumba burn but just recently started back wearing my BodyBugg and realized it's actually 650-750 per class most days! Woot woot!
  • The Your Shape Fitness drives me crazy because it seems like I'm always stuck in tutorial mode and I just want to go! Another downside for me is that only one person can do it at a time and my husband and son would like to do it as well. I understand it's personalized, but I wish there was just a general circuit that…
  • Oh yum! Gotta try this one!
  • It's true that you really need a HRM to determine YOUR burn. For me, it's less than 200 calories ... BUT ... I do it first thing in the morning and it gets my blood pumping. I'm pretty sure I burn more calories during the day and I'm definitely burning more in my evening cardio workout lately.!
  • My husband makes Tilapia dipped in egg white and rolled in Panko Italian bread crumbs. You can then pan fry it in a little olive oil or bake it for even less. I think one 4 oz piece is around 145 calories if fried in olive oil! I only have 1 kids that will eat fish and he loves it!
  • WOW! Just WOW!
  • You look FABULOUS! Thanks for sharing!
  • First of all ... CONGRATULATIONS on making it through 50 mins! Anyone that thinks Zumba is for whimps has NOT been to my class! ;-) Second ... *I* don't like watching myself in the mirror either. On the rare occasion that I teach in a gym with mirrors, I make everyone turn around and face the other direction. Next class,…
  • This reminds me of something that happened to me in the past ... and I walked away determined to help others to NEVER feel the same way. I eventually became certified to teach fitness classes myself and I now teach 5 very successful classes a week ... full of people that felt uncomfortable in other classes. What I'm…

  • Just jumped over to your profile and am SO inspired! Your progress was amazing ... but even more so was that it took you longer to reach the goal you set for yourself, yet you DIDN'T GIVE UP! All I can think is how easy it would have been to stop, but you kept at it and look FABULOUS! Thank you for sharing your journey!
  • Love it! A good combination is chocolate with Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper or diet cheerwine!
  • Well it's definitely more positive on MFP. I can't believe the stuff people post on FB! So negative, hateful & dramatic ... I'm loving the positive attitudes around here!
  • Oh my gosh! My problem is when I sneeze ... OUCH!
  • Had 3 surgeries on the same incision (2 were c-sections). Last one was 9 years ago .. WOW! That area is STILL numb and weak. Honestly, I still have issues sitting up without rolling over to my knees first. I can also promise that when I get to my goal weight, I will still have a pouch, so short of a tummy tuck,, I don't…
  • I agree! I'm 41 w/ 3 kids ... makes it tough at times, so I can use all the support I can get!
  • That's awesome!
  • Do you have a Planet Fitness near you? They don't have classes, which is a negative, but if you're only interested in the equipment, you can't beat it. I notice a lot of 'less fit' people there as opposed to the big bodybuilder or perfect Fitness models you'd see at your typicaly gym - it's really a more comfortable place.…
  • I'm interested in this top too ... Where do you purchase most of your supplements from? I have issues with large pills, so it caught my attention when you mentioned sipping on BCAAs. I assume they come in a form that can be mixed in drinks? That would be great!
  • Thanks for the suggestions! I was leaning towards Jillian because ... well ... she doesn't seem like a morning person either! I actually own 30 Day Shred, so I guess I'll break down and try it. I can stand anything for 20 minutes, right???
  • Don't be nervous! As long as you're moving, you're doing it right! I'm sure you won't be the only person new to it so just don't take yourself too seriously and go into it with the attitude that you're going to have fun! Keep in mind it takes 3 - 4 classes to really get the hang of it ... whether you're doing Zumba,…

  • I have taught both TurboKick and Zumba and if I were going to recommend only one to do AT HOME, it would definitely be TurboFire (TurboJam is great, but TurboFire really covers all the bases). I love, love, love Zumba and teach it 5 days a week ... BUT you really need the energy of a live class. I can't stand doing it at…
