  • Another Albertan here!
  • Bumping. Great reference all in one spot! Thanks!
  • I think you "can't do this anymore" , either. But lets define what "this" is! You're beating yourself up, and that's the worst thing you can do. The one thing I picked up on, that the other posters haven't yet touched on, is how your meals are structured. You have your diary set up for 6 meals a day, but rarely are you…
  • I have found that my hunger has increased as well with lifting. I'm doing STS. And could eat a horse! The thing I've learned most about weight loss, is you need to listen to what your body is telling you. Ignore the scale, and don't get to stuck on numbers. They are all estimates, and it's not an exact science. Every body…
  • Agree wotj Invictus here! Just going by what you "weigh" doesn't really tell you anything at all. There is a lot of difference on the scale with lean muscle mass versus fat. I am 5"4 and was once 125 lbs (after dropping from 208!). Now I'm 138 lbs but gaining muscles & definition. Which weight am I happier at......the…
  • I've found a day of planning makes it a lot easier. If you have a freezer, when you cook something, put it in leftovers in portion size freezer bags. Take it out & warm up as needed. I also will cook a few chicken breasts at a time, then chop them up and have chicken readily available in the a container to add to just…
  • Yep, I'm a former cardio queen. Note the work "former". I love the iron! I've seen so many changes in a short few months that I never saw in years with cardio! Still want to work in a couple session a week, but not near as fun as lifting! Hope more women discover the benefits!
  • You may "feel" that others ae "better" than you. Does that really mean they are?? You cannot judge yourself this way. You are very active and that is super. But unless you take pride in you, don't expect it from others. Take stock of all your good traits and believe in yourself. High school is a hard time, but I can assure…
  • I use a lot of these as I'm limited as to what I can have at my desk. Try this link - hope it works! www.greatist.com/health/high-protein-snacks-portable/ HTH!
  • Some great ideas here! Bumping for later.
  • Carrie - given you work out for an hour at least 3 days a week, your activity level on Scooby should be moderate. I've taken measurement for years, and just try to get in the same places. They should be a guide as well. If you can get a pair of calipers, this will be a better meaurement. I've been won over with weight…
  • Your diet looks pretty solid. Nice macro distribution! I'd keep on doing what your doing. I like how you still include a few treats into your very healthy food choice.
  • This was my first run through of NRL4W. I was definately way to light. Any suggestions on finding the right weight for these? I don't have a ton of weights & was thinking about adding a weighted vest for some of these. Can't get to a gym either  Did: Squats - 35 lb on the bar - don't have a squat rack, hence a…
  • I'm just starting NROLFW today! Not new to lifting, but new to sticking with any one program. Would love some help along the way. I am 48, and will be lifting with free weights only as getting to the gym isn't very feasible for me. Feel free to add me, may need some help along the way. I'm also doing the EM2WL program,…
  • O.k. this just proves I can't quote! :embarassed: Sorry about that! If you haven't watched them yet, rewatch the videos on TDEE & resets. When doing a reset, you are trying to eat at maintenance. Just ensure that when doing the calculations, if you are doing the 3 days of lifting, you are at least setting for moderate…
  • I found this thread and and am so greatful I did! You're almost my twin! Those pictures could be me! They are very motivational & give me hope that if I continue to lift, I can get there. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures! Your wisdom gained by your experience is dead on. Congratulations & thank you again!
  • I had a lot of weight issues growing up. If I was losing, my grandfather would always say.."your to skinny". If I had gained...."your too fat". There never seemed to be a "your looking good". It's taken a long time, but I realized, that it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. How do you feel, how do you look? Are…
  • Congratulations! It's great when we can love ourselves, inside & out. TFS!
  • You could also switch out a couple classes and meet a whole new set of friends with the same goals. The weights is where you will see the change. I did the cardio for years, and yes, saw a smaller me. I would define myself a year ago as "skinny fat". Just a smaller saggier version. Within the last year, I've incorporated…
  • Basically, this is upping your calories for awhile, at least to TDEE so that your body "resets" itself. If we go one a diet that is prolonged, sometimes this is necessary just to reboot your metabolism. Kikki has the following vid - check out the FAQ section - here is what she had: Should I eat at maintenance for a while?…
  • Also remember milk is a good source of protein. Try skim though. As for carbs, try to ensure that only a couple of choices are coming from starchy carbs such as rice & potatoes, and the rest is coming from your veggies. Quinoa is high in protein even though is a starch. Also look at soy products and beans/lentils. HTH!
  • Good Day. I've been reading a lot on the EM2WL, watching the vids, etc. and finally got my diaries & profile set up. After all I've read, and done, I think I'm ready for the reset. I must say, it makes sense, but has gone contrary to everything I've done for a lot of years. I just realized today though, I've been on a…
