Goal was 2,500....burned 2539!

Based on my plans for the week and the fact that we have company, my goal is 2,500 calories this week. Hopefully I will get more, but we'll see! Now go get sweaty!!

I'm so excited to start this challenge :) We can do this!

what a fun idea! AND it really gives us something to brag about :D

Turkey Tom Unwich from Jimmy Johns with no mayo, but added Dijon Mustard.

Bodypump is amazing :) Definitely go! You won't regret it. Pick a spot in the back of the room and just go for it. There's nothing to lose. I agree that you need to show up a bit early so that you can get help setting up. Make sure you tell them you are new, and listen for their tips as they through the routine. They will…

Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm turning 30 in July (eep!) but I'm fairly active. I'm getting married next year, so anything to keep me challenged makes me happy! I'm not sure how much I burn, Looked at the reports section of MFP and didn't want to do the math. I burn anywhere from 300-800 calories a day. I'm going to go with a…

what a great idea! i'm in :)

I use a garmin forerunner 110, but that's because I do a lot of my workouts outdoors. I love it! The garmin connect online is an amazing way to track your stats, whether or not you use the GPS function. It's a bit on the expensive side though, so only get it if it's something you will definitely use the GPS on!

"Amanda" by Boston "Mandy" by Barry Manilow I think I prefer the Barry Manilow one, although I love Boston...

I just recently discovered how different the two actually are. Using a treadmill to train for a 5K wasn't too bad since it was a shorter distance, but I definitely couldn't keep the same pace. I can run a 5K on the treadmill in under 30, but the outside conditions added about 3 minutes to my time for the actual race. I've…

Congratulations! My mom had a very similar experience, and at a young age too. I believe she was 46 when they found it, so I understand how hard the process is. This is definitely something to be proud of! Do something a little special today to celebrate!

short runs during the week and longer runs on the weekend. That really helps me out! Also, try run/walking and increase your run intervals a little at a time. You'll get there, just give it time!

OMG I think I peed my pants a little. I can't stop watching! Hilarious!!!!!

Half from october of last year, the other half was last week.

Food scale and HRM. The 3rd best thing I bought was some small group sessions at the gym...I actually have some definition in my arms now, which is nothing short of shocking!

Strength training! I can't say it enough :) It helps prevent injury and will help you when you run. I recently re-ran the first race I completed (about 4 years ago). I weigh more now, but I've been lifting and I cut my time by 3 mins! For your first race I would recommend taking it slow. Just be there to finish, not for…

I just bought this scale not too long ago and I love it! http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Kitchen-Silver/dp/B001N07KUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365088992&sr=8-1&keywords=food+scale You should definitely consider getting one. Eyeballing and using measuring spoons/cups just didn't cut it for me! This works SO…

My first half is in 3 weeks so I feel ya! I'm nervous and excited at the same time. If your half has pacers you might consider them. My 5K time was 31 minutes, but I'm going to go with a 3:00:00 pace group just so I can say I finished....I'll go for time next year :)

This was such a wonderful thing to do! I wish they had some sort of clothing exchange on MFP. This has been a problem for me as well. I don't want to spend a ton of money on clothes just to only be able to wear them for a short period of time. I've been donating all of my bigger clothes to a pregnant friend who doesn't…

haha Awesome! I'm in :)

I personally love step, but my knees hate it! It's actually very difficult to get into a step class at my gym (we do Body Step) because they are all so full! There's 30 ladies in every class, and they have at least 2 classes a day. One of these days I will make it through a whole class without having to stop and catch my…

I just had this feeling recently. I was putting on a size medium hoodie I've never been able to wear. I felt the tightness around my arms and swore to myself it wasn't going to fit. I decided to try anyway, and VIOLA! It fit perfectly and looked darn good. I usually get this feeling BEFORE trying on clothes though. looking…

I usually eat around 1500 calories a day (a little bit more on days I exercise heavily) and I've managed to lose a great deal of weight! I agree with the other posters that you should see a nutritionist to understand what you need to be eating. Just remember that it will take a little bit for your body to stop freaking out…

Every 10 pounds I reward myself with things like: pedicures, hair cut/color, new HRM, new food scale, manicures, new book, shoes,...etc. When I hit the halfway point, I got myself a massage. For my ultimate goal, I'm going to allow myself to get rid of my hunk-of-junk and get a new car :) only 47 lbs to go!

I'm big on making dishes and freezing them in individual servings. I currently have enough in my freezer for 3 weeks worth of lunches!

happens to me quite often, especially when I don't get enough sleep! I feel bloated and sick to my stomach no matter what I eat if I'm not getting to bed at a decent time (which is often).

^^^this along with a friend of mine who lost a bunch of weight and got pregnant. The whole pregnancy she was eating Doritos and drinking mountain dew and would claim "it's ok, I'm pregnant. I can eat whatever I want. I lost weight before, I can do it again." (she didn't btw) I wanted to strangle her! Another pet peeve of…

"I can't lose weight because of my genetics, so why bother?" THIS DRIVES ME INSANE!!! Like 90% of my family is big (on my mom AND my dad's side) yet I am succeeding.....
