Hi, I had to wait three months before I could have lettuce and six months before I could have nuts and popcorn. No problem with any of them.

Honestly, I don't think I want to forget what it feels like to be that heavier person. I want to remember all of those feelings because I think that it helps me stay focused on this journey - helps to keep my eye on the prize. And I am in a way grateful to be able to say I've had the chance to experience both sides of it.…

I purchased the chips at the Vitamin Shoppe. They were 2 for $5, mix and match.

Grape Frost is my favorite!

I was told they are titanium staples and will always be there. The surgeon said he has never had a problem with a rogue staple or anyone's body rejecting them.

I've noticed that my shoes fit better but I did not have to go down in size. But then again I never had to go up in size when I gained weight. I've been the same shoe size since 7th grade.

My carb goal is two servings per day (serving varies on what the carb is), calorie goal is 900-1,000, and protein goal is 80.

Great job, everyone! I couldn't resist sharing mine too. :) This is my 6 month pic.

Hi Michelle, I've often wondered the same thing. I think the idea is finding a good balance of both. For example, most mornings I have one serving of Special K protein cereal (dry) with one Yoplait Greek 100 vanilla yogurt. It's 23g of protein and 220 calories for my breakfast. Which I don't think is bad for one meal. I…

I am in Michigan, too! I have BCN though...they were really great and made the process easy. My surgery was done at Providence in Warren. I wrote down a huge list of questions and took it with me to my consult. I asked about everything (pre-op diet, post op diet and stages, kidney stones, gall stones, hair loss,…

Thanks, everyone! My surgery date was 4/7/14. I still have a long way to go but for me being under 200 is a huge deal!

You look amazing! Congratulations! Definitely not an easy task... you must be thrilled!!

What about protein shakes, hard boiled eggs, low fat cheese sticks, pre-cooked chicken (maybe you could warm it up in the iron over the fire without bread), chicken sausage?

Ok, I have recently tried running. I'm doing one minute intervals in between walking. However, my biggest problem is breathing while running. I'm doing it all wrong and it makes it so much harder. Any tips? I know it should be in through your nose out through your mouth.

I had that same issue...you just have to adjust your settings.

I had awful back pain. In fact, my first complaint was how badly my back hurt. I was told it was the way I was positioned on the table during surgery. They sort of tilt you back plus all of the air they pump into you does not help. It passed after a couple of days.

You must feel wonderful! Congratulations!

Thank you! :)

I upped myself to 900 calories once I could have bread and grains again. I am almost at 4 months out. My nutritionist said she was fine with it because I am exercising. I was told as long as I did not go over 1200 calories in a day I was fine. I have never even come close nor do I plan on it. She told me that at 6 months…

Ok, so I went yesterday and had my hair done. My new profile pic reflects the new 'do. :) I did two things differently this time around (not sure if it makes a difference, but I did them anyway). 1. My hair stylist used a dye that wasn't as harsh as the one we normally use and 2. I did a deep conditioning treatment (love…

I am at the three month mark and have started to notice some hair loss. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. I haven't highlighted my hair in about two months. I'm just wondering if I go and have it done if my loss will increase. I take all of my vitamins everyday and get in plenty of protein. The only area that I am lacking…

I drink decaf almost everyday, I do track it for nutritional purposes. However, I typically do not count it towards my fluid intake. If I order a decaf latte I do count the protein from the skim milk.

I have hypothyroidism and I am on 120mcg of Armour. My levels haven't been tested yet bc I just had the surgery on April 7. My blood work will be done next month so I'm not sure if they're going to adjust it.

Hello, I have a sit down desk job and I was off for three weeks. I don't think going back on Monday is a good idea. You need the time to get better.

Mangopickle, when did your hair start falling out? You said in the beginning you weren't great about getting in your protein...but how much were you able to get in the beginning? Just trying to see if I had a similar start? I'm terrified to lose my hair.

Glad to hear that everyone is doing great! I'm doing well myself...terrified that my hair is going to fall out. I have my fingers crossed that it won't be that bad.

Thank you!
