  • I have heard of them...haven't tried them. But supposedly they're really good.
  • @MeghannVT01 Can I ask if you're still happy with your conversion to bypass surgery? I hit my Gerd hard with some medication from my gi dr and now I'm back to managing it. But I have a feeling revision to get rid of the Gerd may still be in my future. I just don't want to have to go down that road if Gerd will still be…

  • That's amazing! I run frequently (not halfs or marathons) and just hit a PR on Sunday of 9:23/mile for 4.10 miles. I'll be sure to check this out!
  • @Mom2Cubs sorry I am just now seeing your comment! Thanks so much for the reassurance. I was able to get it under control again with some meds. My hiatal hernia repair didn't seem to help much. Glad to hear the conversion cured the reflux...that must be so nice. I just hate to have another surgery when this one has worked…

  • Ok, I know this post is from 2018. But I am currently in this situation. I fear I will need a revision to my sleeve to correct my gerd and I am terrified. I don't want it at ALL! I have done so well with my sleeve (6 years post op) that I hate the idea I have to have another surgery. I have maintained my 150lbs weight loss…
  • I went and had x-rays done because I have constant pain there. My doctor said that everything looks normal...I just don't have any cushion there now...

  • Good Morning! I am 15 months out and chew as well as I did pre-sleeve. The first 10 months I was much better about making sure everything was chewed really well...however, I don't think I was bad about it before or currently. I'm just not as cautious as I was in the beginning. I have had no issues...
  • Sorry you're not feeling well. I had my surgery April 7, 2014. I got extremely lucky and did not have my first cold until January 1, 2015. So the meds weren't an issue for me...I must have been far enough along. Although, I do have one coming on now. :(
  • I've heard that people who weigh themselves daily tend to be more accountable for their food decisions throughout the day. I think you're fine as long as you don't let it consume your thoughts. It's good to be on top of things.
  • Amazing job!
  • Not sure which procedure you are having done and everyone is a little different...but I had the sleeve done and take a Flinstones Complete multivitamin (twice per day), Calcium Citrate (two - three times per day), D vitamin (two, once per day), and a B Complex (once per day).

  • ^^^^completely agree with this^^^^ also I have found if my water is low for the day I want to eat things that I normally wouldn't. So I try to reach for water instead of whatever it is that I want to eat. There are little tricks that work for everyone...you'll figure out what works out best for you...don't stress about it.…
  • I am a little over a year post op and have lost 146 lbs. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18, I am 32 now. I took metformin for a very short period (maybe 3 months) about 6 years ago and stopped because I did not like the way it made me feel. I was insulin resistant, however, I was unwilling to go back to the metformin…
  • So funny...I totally had food funerals before the surgery. And I referred to those meals as such. I wanted to feel like I had closure with the past and personally I think it helped me mentally prepare. Maybe it's not for everyone...but I planned out the meals I knew I would miss and said goodbye.
  • I have only tried one of the Quest bars...I think it was the apple cinnamon. I didn't really care for it because of the texture (I have issues with food textures, lol). I have posted about this before...but I really love the Quest protein chips! I think they are amazing! I know some people have posted that it scares them…
  • Thanks for the info! Hoping he'll know what the issue is. I'm not sure how to describe it...I know sometimes you can be sore from heavy breathing while running. But it is def not a soreness. It's more of an ache.

  • Thank you all for the wonderful comments! I pray everyday that I can maintain this new lifestyle. :)
  • I have had the craziest roller coaster with mine. All the hormonal changes really messed me up. Yes, it is much longer now and was happening more than once a month for me. At one year out, I am just now finally adjusting and making my back to a normal schedule.
  • Amazing! Keep up the good work!
  • Thanks everyone!
  • Thank you!
  • Thank you!
  • Not judging...for the most part I am pretty good at remembering my multi-vitamin, b complex, and D3. I do have a hard time remembering to take the calcium here and there. I have set reminders on my computer to help with that. I have not had any complications because of this yet but I have read horror stories. Some people…

  • Great article...thanks for sharing!
  • Maybe it was too soon for beef. I was told no red meat until 6 months out. I'm at 10months almost 11 now and have no problems with beef.
  • I am 10 months out and stay between 900-1,000 per day. I work out anywhere from 3-5 times per week 45 minutes each time. Hope this helps!
  • Completely rude and irritating! You're a better person than I am...I don't think I would have been able to keep my mouth shut. Losing weight/being overweight does not give people the right to be rude to you. I have not had this experience yet...if and when I do hopefully, I'll be able to handle it as well as you did.
  • I've had alcohol on a few occasions. It does hit you faster but I haven't had any issues. I include it in my calorie count and work out a little harder if I know I'm going to drink. I also make sure to drink lots of water beforehand. I also wait until later in the evening to have alcohol that way I don't feel like I have…
  • How exciting! Great news...congratulations!
  • I am 9 months out and my calories are between 900-1,000 per day. The exercise guidelines I was given were simply to make it a priority. I workout anywhere from 3-5 days per week anywhere from 30mins-1:30hrs depending on the day. Exercise is not strictly important for weightloss but your overall health. And absolutely 80%…
