  • Lets not forget sodium. Salt makes us retain water which will show up on the scale. I like the idea of forgiving yourself and skipping a weigh in.
  • I hear your frustration. Do you have a local farmers market you can visit? Sometimes if you go the last hour they are open you can get some great deals because they don't want to carry it home to rot. Offer half price on their veggies and fruits, worth a shot :) Also, get creative with your finances. See what around the…
  • The BEST that I have found-- tried a few-- is "Namaste Yoga with Kate Potter". FANTASTIC. Its the way I stretch out every morning. She will coach you sweetly, gently, and slowly. She remembers to tell you when to breathe. She uses repetition so you don't get overwhelmed & lost. The women on the screen are gorgeous and so…
  • I think weigh-ins are here on Mondays?? Today I am at 211.7. Ate smart, exercised when I could. YAY ME!!!! Hello, anyone here? *echo, echo, echo*
  • Don't pressure her to drink cows milk. Try alternatives like Soy, Almond, Rice... my 2 kids get sick if they drink cows milk straight up. If your child gets yogurt and cheese, your covered. BTW: Dark green veggies have calcium.
  • Aw, sounds like you are pushing yourself too hard. Stressing out makes your body hold onto water, fat & calories. Chill out :) Eat whole foods that contain your required carb/fat/protein balance. Celery & dandelion tea help to get rid of excess water weight- feeling bloated might be a clue you are not eating enough- your…
  • Hello everyone! Im a student, mom, wife... busy busy busy! Finding time to run and eat right is a challenge but it feels better than the alternative. I live in the Midwest. It's September so I find myself being sucked into the chaos of school-- homework is killer when trying to juggle two kids and a hubby!! Little by…
  • I just joined MFP today. A few years ago I was at 265. UGH! So... after lots of hard work, today I am at 215. Looking to be around 195 because I am over 6 foot tall :)) Don't hate me for being big! :)
  • Hi ladies! I am a student, a volunteer, a mom, a wife, a great neighbor, and a runner. I think I need to lose around 20 ish pounds. I say "ish" because I am 6'1 and don't want to be too skinny (the guidelines for my weight always seem too low). I try to run every other day, eat whole foods, and do yoga for both the focus &…
  • I have the same craving. I go with organic celery and Woodstock organic peanut butter. Base how much you eat on what your calorie needs are for the day. 1T of pb is 100 calories. Apples are crunchy. Organic pink ladies and braeburns are my favs. Organic carrots. You can still have your chips- just eat a very small portion.…
  • Zirk95- I found C25K to be a great program. I worked through it a couple years ago and continue to run today. I am in no way a fast runner-- but I get out there. I enjoyed the program because it was gradual and it was timed- so that helped me focus. My mantra while running was, "I can do anything for 30 minutes." You can…
