  • I use Vega Sport protein which is plant based when I am training for races. I use it because it is vegan and I cannot have any dairy. But I like it, and I think it really gives my muscles the extra protein they need after a good hard run. Also the taste and texture are good as well.
  • Feel free to add me!
  • You can add me as a friend too!
  • And how many of us, actually only have one slice of pizza and some fresh salad? I know I always one slice too many when I have pizza.
  • I feel like a lot of junk is easily available now too. I remember my mom saying when she grew up that it would be a treat if you went to the story for your mother and had a cent left over for a few candy. That didn't happen every day. Now days if I want candy or chips I can DRIVE to any store and buy not only an individual…
  • Yes we do have a running room here, I will try and get there the weekend and talk to the people there and maybe add more stuff to my kit. Thanks!
  • I have to agree with Tried- I find that I cannot make some of my recipes, because the flour does not translate properly. I find I cannot make a gravy for the life of me anymore, nor can I make something my mom called pudding, though is more like large baked dumpling (maybe similar to yorkshire pudding). And I am not going…
  • Thanks guys
  • Got out and actually trained today. I had two gluten episodes the weekend and barely was able to get out of bed let alone get out and go for a run. But today I am feeling better, hopefully tomorrow I will feel even better, but I felt good enough to go for a run and my stomach didn't act up during the 5km. Unsure if I can…
  • haven't logged into this for a while. Last week I was out of town for work, but the hotel we stayed in did have a fitness room with a treadmill. 09/5-25 minutes of treadmill 09/6-18 minutes of treadmill, I am unsure of the distance equivalence, but I would estimate it at 4.5Km. I haven't ran since but really need to get…
  • 9/3- 4.5K, Had a pretty good day. I was up and back from my run before anyone else woke this morning, 2.5km. Then this afternoon we went for a small walk which was another 2Km. It was nice a cool this morning, not cold, I was still able to wear a t-shirt and capris. But I did not get soaked with my own sweat. I kind of…
  • This is so much great information, I might need to get a face shield for sure. I have asthma, and as the wind picks up this time of year, it might make breathing a little harder. Also I find it harder to breath when it is cold. I will try the face mask, and also try and keep track of what I am wearing and the temperature I…
  • I didn't do much today. The In-Laws are in and their youngest son is moving in with me and boyfriend. We went down town for a little walk around, but unfortunately I was also eating jelly beans and the time. We also is a lot of walking around the mall today, but I didn't count that. My fitness ban says I walked 6.8Km…

  • I made a little goal for myself taking into consideration that I will need a couple of weeks to get back into the grove.
  • Hey, I am new this forum, but I am in. I am thinking about running a 5K in October, and this might be the motivation I need to push me to do it. I cannot really give myself a goal, I would like to run 5K a day to train, but it has been a few weeks since I ran so I might build myself up to 5K over a couple of weeks. My knee…
  • I am a little late to the party, but I will keep an eye open for the September one, hopefully this will help get me back on track!!
  • I have been doing 1200 cals a day for over a year now, if I do heavy exercise I will let myself eat some of those calories, there are other days that I am only at 1000 calories and I am done for the day, and then there are the days that I have 500cal over. But I agree that you will get used to feeling hungry, but also your…
  • Thanks for your contribution, I will keep an eye out for maltodextrin and carrageenan. Actually I believe I have reacted to carrageenan long before I stopped gluten. A few years ago I went to a sushi place (the only time I have ever eaten it) and had a vegan roll (I couldn't get over the raw fish part) and I was the only…
  • Another reason people are saying they are intolerant or sensitive to gluten is because their doctors will not test them for it. I think I am gluten sensitive. I went to my doctor and he sent me for the blood test (which almost always comes back negative, even in people are already diagnosed with celiac). He then told me…
  • OMG I know right. I have been wanting tomato soup for a while now but I can't just have the can stuff anymore. I just need to find a good and easy recipe and a weekend to try it out. I use Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce which is also gluten free. I cannot eat ice cream anymore because of dairy but I do have some coconut ice…
  • These are great tips and I will be sure to look at the websites you guys added. I also cannot have dairy anymore. I hope it is just a short time and when my stomach heals I will be able to have it again. I am not diagnosed with celiac and my doctor is very careful with the words intolerant and sensitive. I myself am going…
  • Thanks guys I will look into these resourses tonight. I officially went gluten free two weeks ago. My boyfriend and I went to the mall to do some summer shopping and I had to bring my own lunch which sucked but I didn't get sick which allowed me to stay shopping. I am really craving chicken nuggets today and I think I will…
  • Actually the other morning I made ginger tea to drink after I took my pill and I think it worked to settle my stomach so I think I am going to try some gravol ginger with them too.
  • I found out the hard way taking it with milk. Oh my I was sick. I have been taking them in the morning with a fruit smoothie, without yogurt. But in the evenings I take it with my supper, I might have to take it a bit later so I don't accidentally take it with something to make me more sick.
  • I am glad I am not the only one having such a hard time with this. My doctor and pharmacists told me I would get a little bit of an upset stomach but to take it with a little food and orange juice (Vit c help absorption). When I went to my pharmacist last week and told her how sick I was (having diarrhea) she was very…
  • I do eat meat, and now have incorporated spinach into supper almost every night. I only recent starting cooking red meat, it never was the fact that I didn't like it, it is that I am bad a cooking it. I always eat beef or steak that my folks cook, but since I've been on my own for 7 years, I rarely cook beef unless of…
  • I might just actually play around with the recipe and see what feels more accurate, I prefer a slight over estimate than a slight underestimate. So I might try logging the full, 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 marinade and see what feels the best. Then again the marinade was mostly vinegar and therefore with a few seasoning so not many…
  • I don't know if this will help but when I feel hungry after eating well and exercising I ask myself if I want oatmeal, or toast or an apple. If not then I don't eat if yes then I eat a small amount of something like this. Sometimes I ask this and I am like no I don't want this, normally I regard this as craving for sugar…
