Well done!! Keep up the great work!

I totally agree.

This is one of my HUGE fail areas -- I'll do great all day then get huge cravings as soon as I come home from work. I think I will make a large cup of tea as soon as I walk in the door starting tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!

My profile photo is my 10-year-old Trakehner mare...Aurora...aka "the princess". Any one else ever owned or ridden a Trakehner?

I agree with this, too.

Hmmm. I have had similar issues. It is not your fault that she is acting like this, and I can see why it would hurt. But she has personal baggage that is causing her to act like this. My advice is to continue to be pleasant to her, but not to call or or go over. I think that aggravates the situation. If she gets over her…

No way. I wear SPF 30 whenever I go outside, riding my horse, exercising, working in the yard -- you name it. I don't want wrinkles and leather skin when I get older.

Thanks for sharing -- this is very inspirational. How tall are you? You seem to be on a similar path to me.

My doctor told me to drink at least the 8 cups of water to help flush out the sodium. It works. I can tell by looking at my feet whether I am or am not retaining water. I've also worked hard at reducing sodium, and it helps a lot, too. I feel so much better since I have taken this advice. :)

Well done! You look GREAT!! Very inspirational for me. :)

I weigh more now than before my gallbladder was removed, but that is because I can eat anything I want now. Prior to having it removed, if I ate much fat, I would be in excruciating pain for hours. Hence, I ate limited amount of items, and they were very low in fat. Now that I can eat anything I want to, and not suffer,…

I have no advice, just would like to wish you well on your journey!!

Hi Candice, Welcome to MFP. I am a conservative, Catholic, heterosexual. But I don't like mean, intolerant people of any kind. Totally not cool. I don't have much to add except to wish you well on your journey, and ignore any mean idiots that you run into on the boards. They are not worth your time to deal with.…

Thanks so much for posting!! Your story is very inspirational and I needed that today.

You don't eat all that bad. BUT...I would add some raw veggies (find a salad that you really enjoy), carrot sticks with ranch dip, etc. Two more things: 1) Make sure to drink at least 8 C water (64 fl. oz) each day, more if you perspire a lot, and watch the sodium. My doctor told me to lower my sodium or go on blood…

It definitely depends on the person. I gained 36 lbs with my son, and without trying, I lost 50 lbs by his 4 month checkup. I looked better after I had him than before (and I was regular weight before). NOW...21 years later, I have gained weight by eating too much, and the weight won't budge...I think breastfeeding helped…

Thank you for writing this up -- very inspirational! And you look GREAT!! Well done.

You have received some great advice in this thread. The only thing I can add is that I was where you are now, nine years ago. I love to eat, and I love to eat in volume. I found that by dropping the majority of the junk food I ate, and eating tons more veggies and low-fat protein sources, I am full, not packing on weight,…

I like Silk or Trader Joe's Soy Milk, too. :)

I find dry roasted edamame in the health foods sections of my local grocery story (Food Lion). It is $1.99 per bag and they have several flavors. I like it just as a snack, but I bet it would be awesome on a salad, too.

I'm a busy vegetarian. I have one word for you: soy. I like tofu, dry roasted edamame, edamame in salads...delicious and great protein... Good luck!!

ANY DESSERT is better with British custard, IMHO. :) (And I'm an American.)

Well done!!! I know you have done a lot of hard work for this to happen!!

This^^ Also, I've noticed that I tend to overeat when I am tired, stressed out, or feel bad. I have noticed that I feel bad when I eat junk food (I love chips/crisps and dip). I have noticed that when I feel bad, I do not exercise. At all. So, for me, it is imperative that I change my eating habits in order to lose weight.…

Thanks for sharing!! I needed the inspiration.

I get you. I would feel the same way. I'm doing EVERYTHING right and losing slow. (Well, I stopped for a while, now I'm back to "doing things right.") I think everyone loses differently. You just have to tell yourself that it is OK, you will get to where you need to be and carry on...I can't see that there is anything else…

This!!! I don't know how old you are (I'm 49) but you will not be in great health forever. You will likely have major health problems by the time you reach my age...I work hard at staying healthy, and I only need to lose 10 to 15 lbs to be within a healthy weight range, but my doctor is encouraging me to do that. I…

Sounds like a step up from that date. Geez. I wouldn't even bother to respond. He is TOTALLY mental.
-
Me, too!! I am not losing weight because (for the most part) I have overeaten healthy foods. I love veggies. :) And beans and tofu. :)

Impressive work! Congratulations on a job well done!
