Didn't have to really set a goal. Moved my elderly parents this week. Moved & unpacked boxes. Cleaned & scrubbed. Every bone in my body feels it!

Started MFP 5 weeks ago & have stuck with the daily logging in for food. Now I'd like to do 20 minutes of exercise per day. May not seem like much but I've never been a very active person so I need to start somewhere!

105 days equals 15 weeks so in fact you're right on. They encourage us to lose a pound a week. I'm sure that's also the best way to stick to the program. I've only been following the program for about 5 weeks now but I've lost about 5 pounds.

Have you check other fitness sites to verify their calculations - that should give you a more accurate picture of you think that MFP estimate of calories burned is incorredt.

To be able to "eat back" those calories can actually be a motivation to exercise, especially for those of us that are normally not that active.

What about having your main meal at noon? When you come home for work maybe have some cheese, melba toast & fruit.

This certainly sounds to me like a reasonable approach - consulting both doctor & nutritionist. I have always believed 1,000 calories a day to be very low but I know that now that I am older, I just don't burn the calories I used to.
