It can be an upward battle for sure. For me it was more about finding foods I enjoyed rather than restricting myself. For example, I loooove hummus so cauliflower and hummas became my go-to snack. Salmon on spinach salad became a go-to for lunches, etc Don't ever try to force yourself to choke down healthy foods you don't…

5lb in 6 weeks is great! Patience. Are you measuring with a tape measure as well? In the beginning I found my inches moved faster than the scale.
-
Water! Reaching for the teapot when I'm feeling munchie.
-
Does this mean I can soak in a tub of gel and come out looking like Megan Fox? How convenient!
-
Slowly but surely! I'm down 8lb now - 4lb per month. Now If I can keep this going, I'll be at least 1/2 way to my goal weight before I go on vacation (during which I fully expect a set back, but it's vacation! I'm not going to deprive myself!)

I don't think I'll ever have a thigh gap, and you know what?
-
Hahaha yup. This is the definition of first world problems. I've been there too, and I find it's way better to enjoy yourself and eat (smaller portions if you have the option) than risk offending the host and constantly counting calories in your head.

As the others have said - patience is key! I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks recently and this week my scale dropped by 2lbs in 4 days. Wight loss isn't linear as much as we'd like it to be!

I absolutely get this. I currently have strep throat and in the evenings after work I'm exhausted and begin to get hot & cold flashes so I'd rather go directly to bed than stay up to make a full, nutritious dinner! I've found by making myself fruit smoothies and omelettes with dry toast, it helps me get my healthy foods in…

I'm 5'6 and at my starting weight I was a size 10. I haven't lost much yet, but which what I have lost my pants are looser and belts are necessary. I'm doing a mall trip today so it'll be interesting to see if I can squeeze myself in to anything smaller

1 cup of frozen fruit (i use mixed berries and peaches), 200ml of Sunripe Slim juice (10 cal for 250ml), 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. The seeds expand in your stomach, so it keeps me full from 6am until about 10am!

I drink tea like a madwoman all day because it does fill me up and tastes delicious!
-
I would LOVE to drop 10-15 by Easter (I'm heading on vacation then as well). Currently I'm losing at about 1lb per week, but would like to kick that up to 1.5 per week. You're welcome to add me

I get up at 4am so evening munchies are more like late-afternoon munchies for me, but my solution is always tea, tea, and more tea! It gets my water in for the day, keeps my hands and mouth busy, and fills me up! Another one of my fav snacks is 1 cup of cauliflower and 2 tbsp of hummus.

I've been cutting back on my sugar for the month of February and love it! I sleep better, have more energy in the afternoons, and I fully attribute my weight loss (albeit small!) to the cutback. I've started off as a 5:2 regime so I can enjoy my wine etc on the weekends. Definitely give it a try.:drinker:

I'd like to be at least 5 more lbs down! I'm averaging 1lb per week so I'd like to keep this going and hopefully kick it up!
-
It's so hard not to get discouraged when you don't see the scale move and you've been working your butt off (literally!). I have the same motivation problem. What I have to keep telling myself is as long as the scale isn't moving up, it's not all bad. Try stepping up your water intake or supplementing some of your meat…

I looooove asparagus! I'll mi\x it in with my pasta, or eat it boiled on it's own with lemon juice. If you're looking for a bit less healthy option, I've also made "asparagus fries". Just take asparagus (trimmed), dip in beaten eggs, roll in bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese, and bake. Delicious!
-
Hummus & califlower, or soy nuts!
-
When I got my ribs tattooed I skipped workouts for about a week. Twisting and turning isn't necessarily the best for the healing process! But when I got my leg and wrist tattoos, I didn't miss a beat.

Honestly, I don't even know. Currently I'm working towards 150 (i'm 5'6), and will then see how I feel!
-
Wow - that's crazy...and kind of scary
-
Ahhhhh that'd make sense then.
-
Everyone's as stumped as I am eh? Chalk it up to one of food's many mysteries
-
I binged hard on Saturday night too. Wings for dinner, beer at the lacross game, more drinks afterwards, then ended the night with chinese at 4am! Lots of water and a long walk on Sunday helped me feel better. And let's be serious - falling off the wagon is a lot of fun occasionally :drinker:
-
lettuce wraps with peanuts, chicken, soy nuts & veggies are one of my fav low carb meals. Also a big fan of cauliflower and hummus as a snack!
-
I'm in the same boat today. Too much drinking and a late night meal made the scale jump up today. I'm just focusing on lots of water and a long walk this afternoon  One night of overindulgence doesn't make you forget your new lifestyle, it just provides perspective

I've been using the same scale for years. Now that I'm really tracking myself, I've been wondering if I should buy a newer one, but I feel like I should stick to what I've been using with my new efforts. Consistency is key & all that.

I aaalllwayys do this now! Then I think back to when I was buying KD and pepsi, and take back my internal snarky remarks
