  • Good post OP. I've never heard of Shiritake noodles so i'll see if we have them over here in the UK, im sure i'll find some somewhere. I also do a similar thing with exercise, i change it up loads and i've just recently got back into basketball and its a great workout! 6 of us had an hour long game last night and it was…
  • you need to get it to a level that you can sustain long term and lose weight at a reasonable rate (1-3 lbs per week i think is a good normal rate). Personally i think its too much. I go to the gym 3 times a week and play B-Ball once a week and i think thats alot. You need to rely on the diet for 80% of the weight loss and…
  • Good info, thanks!
  • I'm a big guy and ive been concentrating more on weights. The scales are showing no movement but i can see and feel thet my fat is reducing! I've gone down 2 jeans sizes but with only a loss of 12lb on the scale? i'm ignoring the scale now as i can feel some mean guns under my arm fat and they're begging to break through.…
  • I'm a member of Pure Gym coventry and I actually rate it highly! You cant moan at 17.99 a month and i havent yet found a time where i couldnt get on something I wanted to use. Free parking and no exit fee are a bonus but to be honest i'll keep my membership here for a long time to come. Does anyone know if you can go into…
  • generally they dont become more or less visable they just change in how they look. Whilst heavily pregnant they are wider and red. After giving birth the skin between them will go a bit wrinkly as its lost some of its elasticity and the stretchmarks wont be stretched out but they'll still be there. They fade over time but…
  • You have to get yourself into a routine. Routines are also good for your kids too. Wake up at the same time. Make breakfast an event with your little one, you can decide what to have together, sit down at the dinner table and talk through what you're doing and what you guys will be doing in the day etc. Do this for dinner…
  • And just to note, 2000 is a well rounded day with all nutrients, it seems like alot but it really isnt. e.g. 1/5 of a packet of non salted nuts is 250 and nuts are good for you in moderation.
  • everybody loses weight in slightly different ways. You may find those people eating 1200, earning back another 800 in exercise and banking them are losing weight at a slower rate than someone eating back 600 of those 800 exercise cals. I calculated my TDEE and based my activity level on my average week including all…
  • Another from Coventry here. I've added all other west midlands folk so anyone from the UK feel free to add me.
  • Are you lifting weights? You may be lifting heavy (can only complete 5 reps) rather than lifting intermediate (10-15 reps). Heavy builds big and intermediate defines what you already have. Obviously there is more to it than this but its a general rule.
  • I sweat like a fat guy in a gym.. Oh wait
  • I can cook a healthy meal in the time it'd take you to get to a fast food restaurant, order and get back! I have 2 kids under 2 years old. Its crazy at home but you get used to it and you just have to cook because when they're on normal food you'll want them to eat healthy from a young age. Congrates OP on that victory. I…
  • I'd go if it was going to make me feel good but i wouldnt if it wouldnt... For me i think i've been fairly successful and i'm happy with my life. The kids that picked on me are still all friends. 1 is my binman, another is my window cleaner! Personally I would go to one as i have a different outlook on life. I'm no longer…
  • Is this your normal weight in time/day? i weigh in on a sunday morning between 10 and 11am. I actually put on weight during the week and drop back down to a loss by the time sunday comes around. Say i'm 259 on a sunday, i can go up to 263 on wednesday and be back down for an overall loss to 257 by the next sunday. Its…
  • Ok i've just made my list. I did only want one thing but looking through here now I want a few things! Wedding ring resize £20 Tirup swivel armchair £325 Fashionable jeans £120 Other clothes £400 Spartan Outfit (for the bedroom) £60 Total £925 (or $1494) I had better get saving! I need to lose pounds (lbs) and gain pounds…
  • When i dont have a spotter i dont lift heavy - its dangerous. If my friend cant make it to the gym i just do more reps on a comfortable weight. Or you could use the machines instead. They're ok if you dont have a friend with you.
  • Im away with work alot and this is what i do in exactly that scenario: gym in the evening before dinner to earn some calories for it. I choose a fish or lean meat course. I usually pick a light starter salad or bruschetta and just have the tomato and onion but leave the bread part! I normally have what desert I want as i…
  • Maybe you should spend an hour or two in the supermarket and find out what you could eat for your calorie budget. In the morning pick a good filling cereal or oats. If you're in a rush have a protein shake (it helps curb hunger). For lunch you can find crisps (potato chips) for less than 100 calories a bag, you could have…
  • I just have the FT2. Its simple, it synchs with the machines at the gym so i dont have to look at the watch and it was cheap. I use MFP exercise predictions and halve everything they say. I'd rather underestimate and bank that little bit extra.
  • The same happened for me at first. I lost 6lbs the first week and then went crazy with exercise and being way under on my calories, this then stalled me for ages but now i've found the sweet spot of exercise and calories that see's pretty constant results. In the end I had to up my calories and reduce my exercise (i know…
  • Sleep - 8 hours Exercise - 1 hour Work - 10 hours I usually feel pretty fresh with this routine. I alternate days on cardio or weights. I used to do 6 days cardio and i started to have trouble sleeping.
  • Thats really great. it really does boost you so much when you can see results for your hard work. I've been hitting the weights alot and dropping fat. This morning I can feel some pretty big biceps hiding in there waiting to break out! Lets do this
  • This will sound weird but there is a really nice chair I love from Ikea. Its simple but absolutely insanely comfortable and I would sit in it every day (after training of course) with my Kindle in front of the fire.... Its fairly expensive for what it is but thats my treat.…
  • I resisted victoria sponge cake that is a very big deal for me. Going to the gym later, gunna SMASH IT HULK STYLE!
  • For me its protein that keeps me sustained throughout the morning. I dont have much time in the morning and i generally have to have breakfast 6.30am and last with small snacks until 12. I have a shake (with water not milk) and 2 low calorie buscuits and it does keep me going and its a total of 220 cals. You dont have to…
  • I dont eat them back because I added them to my daily calorie limit. I was at 1800 and exercising 3 days a week and now im at 2000 with the same 3 days a week. The difference has been the consistancy of weight loss (3lb per week) and the fact that 2000 calories never makes me feel like im hungry, i actually now struggle to…
  • I think its important to do strength and cardio. Muscle burns more calories than fat in a rested state so building muscle will help you use up more calories in between training, when sleeping etc. I do cardio to improve my overall fitness and endurance and it makes me feel better, i do 2 or 3 times a week for 1 hour…
  • if i go to the gym I do 15-30 mins of weights 20 mins speed walking on the treadmill 30 mins on the stationary bike 10 mins stationary rowing If I have a training day at home i do a mix up of punchbag, jump rope and weights.
  • Check protein intake. i find if i have a lot of protein early in the day it keeps me going for a long long time. I have protein in the morning/mid morning so i can last.
