Thats a big achievement! its like crack

My biggest tip is to get more active and have more protein! a protein shake in the morning (6am) keeps me full until lunchtime (12). When I used to have cereal at 6am I used to snack at 9 or 10 am and finish my lunch by 11. That would leave me hungry and going to the vending machines at around 2-3 and its all down hill…

I'm not posting mine until im at goal and then i'll no longer be embarrassed by the bigger me. The whole world can see my fat *kitten* then as i'll be a different person :D

I'm not sure why people think weight is an open subject they can discuss but this seems to happen alot. I just reply with 'yes'. I stop at the point i want to stop

Sunday mornings after a wee before eating and naked I try not to 'peek' during the week at all. If i know i'll be elsewhere during my sunday weigh in time i'll do it on the saturday at the same time.

I injured my toe but the nail didnt go black or show any signs of injury, a couple of days later it completely fell off! Its really weird having a toe without a nail but they grow back really quickly. It doesnt hurt either, i was just putting my sock on and was like 'oh wow, theres my whole toe nail!!!' The wife wasnt so…

yeah, going into the doctors after losing 30lbs. Stepping on the scales all proud of myself and being told : 'if you keep going like this you're at a high risk of diabeties' Erm... if i keep eating healthily and exercising i'll get diabeties?! I just ignored it because he doesnt know. I wonder if when i go back next year…

The post by EvgeniZyntx is a good one. I try not to read too much about it. Simply find one base idea you like and can live with and then evolve it to make it work for you. I go with high protein because it keeps me full for longer, i also do a good mix of cardio and strength (cardio from sports, strength from gym/P90X). I…

Some awesome NSVs there everyone. Quiting smoking and using that money for a wedding venue is an amazing accomplishment! i love it when moneysaving and health come together. Making cookies for the painters is a really nice thing to do and then not eating any is excellent! Congrats to all of those fitting into old clothes.…

I like this thread, thanks for the great ideas folks! i just count on going to the gym, i take the stairs wherever possible now but there is so much more i could do! I'm going to put together a morning routine

Hi, I work in Liverpool on a semi regular basis so feel free to add me. Member at the David Lloyd gym there if anyone else is?

what you should have done is flicked it onto the floor and then burned an extra 10calories cleaning it up! Seriously though, a battle is won with many small victories.

Kids can be the most hurtful and there is really only one reason it hurts so much - because they dont mean to upset you but they have a habit of saying exactly what they're thinking. Dont turn to food! Why dont you treat yourself to a nice bath or turn it into pure determination?!

This kind of thing has been posted before. Its not a great idea to have food treats for reaching goals as it just resets the way you think back to how you were before. Im going for new feel good clothes and a really expensive chair ive wanted for years but couldnt justify.

I have really healthy snacks. my workplace is the same Today it was someones birthday and they bought in cookies. I did P90X and an hour of basketball last night and i can fit it into my calories today so i had one after lunch. Last week someone had cakes, the week before it was krispy kremes. I didnt have anything either…

I'm still not completely sure what sparked it in the end. Having 2 very young kids was one thing. I dont want them to ever remember having overweight parents and thinking that was normal (and ultimately the way they may end up). At least if im doing it now by the time they get good solid memories i should be trim! (one is…

You run 30-50 miles per week on 1200 calories? or do you eat back all of your running calories? Personally with that level of energy expendature i'd think you would be on more. Protein helps with recovery. Have one after a long run and you'll notice a quicker recovery. It also keeps you full for longer so a shake for…

i use the whey on myprotein.com. I'm currently using the diet whey double chocolate. 200 calories a 45g of protein. I have one for breakfast and it fuels me all the way until lunchtime!

Hi Kimberlee. Nice name I'm not physically disabled but please feel free to add me for some moral support. The more friends you have on this journey the less lonely it feels. It then becomes that little bit more achieveable :)
-
I've added you. i'm not so good with the daily 'way to go!'s but i do offer moral support when its asked for and i do comment on special meaningful achievements. Do your best, let us know when you're having a hard time and people will chip in with their help and opinions. All the best

Dude its a massive difference between the first pic and the second two. You wont see much difference between the second and third as thats 8lb and its obviously coming off from your whole body so it may not have been your face for that 8lb. Lighting and the photos in general make a big difference. I take my progress pics…

If you know on average how many calories it is then add it as your own exercise cals and rename it? I'd normally underestimate on exercise and overestimate on food so i know the chances are i'm at a defecit.

You need to experinment and see what works for you. Firstly decrease your exercise to a level you will maintain permanently and keep your calories as they are now. Monitor if you're gaining, losing or maintaining. You may find that you're maintaining but losing 1lb every 4 weeks or so, if thats the case then either eat a…

Its about the little things. People get too wrapped up in a busy life to notice the minor wonders of the world we take for granted. The smell of a babies head A cold wind on your face in autumn amazing landscapes taking one off opportunities being spontaneous in any little way you can those things when studied in detail…

Use the natural ways of waking up.... have a shower as soon as you get out of bed. Try walking for 5 minutes in the cold morning air. these things wake you up enough to be able to function

I got it for my kindle for next to nothing. They have some excellent ideas, im hoping other top chefs will get on board and show healthy alternatives next to their normal counterparts

Its a shame those people will never get a true feeling of accomplishment. In everything I do i try and do it without assistance so i know my strength of mind is good. Quit smoking without any help or patches Lose weight the old fashioned way Gain strength the old fashioned way Dont they realise they just cheat themselves…

I had a few yesterday. one i posted about and the others I just kept to myself. I did my very first pullup without assistance (I actually did 1.5 but whos counting!) Then I did 45mins of P90X followed by an hour of a basketball game without sitting out even for a minute. I'm hurting hardcore today but i feel so good!

The ability to do pushups doesnt just come from doing pushups. Its about building the right muscles any way you can and losing weight. As soon as you tip that balance and your strength to weight ratio improves then youll find it easier. Using weights will help build those muscles. Trying pullups (or negative pullups) and…

Now you have all the regular equipment its about matts, mirrors and if you can - a TV. I just got all my kit sorted, had a mirror and loaded up a bar for deadlifts (a fairly good weight but not my most). I did the deadlift and realised I didnt have a mat to drop it on if i needed to! i was there with a full extension…
