  • Did you go back to eating how you did before? you shouldnt be gaining 30lb in a single month, you would need to do absolutely nothing AND eat 4000 calories a day in order to do that. I'd say if you were active you should be on at least 1400 calories. You should never cheat/not log etc as you'll end up staying the same.
  • You rarely see it in yourself. I've been doing this for 8 weeks now. I can see and feel the muscle gain but not the weight loss. The only thing that alludes me to the fact that its happening are the loose clothes, increased fitness and people telling me. I cant see it myself but im happy to take the small wins and carry…
  • I'd charge your iPad and kindle before it comes. Fruit ninja until that battery runs out followed by a good book (should last a week easy!) Everyones else has said the good stuff. I'd go with warm clothes/blankets. If there is no heating you wont need to worry if you're wearing suitable atire :)
  • I have a good mix of UK and US friends on here. The UK ones understand the foods and products and the US ones understand my choices in sports (Basketball, paintball etc). Diversity is the spice of life Anyone can add me if they wish. I'm not so great at support but i do read diaries, have a nosey and give support when its…
  • I'm very sorry for your loss. I havent been through this but I know a great place where ladies (and affected men) can anonymously talk through the whole thing and support each other. Its part of a bigger site about saving money but it has evolved within to become a good source for moral and emotional support.…
  • Quite honestly I used to have a massive Diet Coke and pure orange juice addition. I actually used to think pure orange juice wasnt that bad for you and i could drink 1l in a day! Now i've managed to really get into drinking water. I find i drink more of it if its in a sports bottle and now its become habit to have a sip on…
  • Its not that weight is a turn off but with excessive weight on a lady you either get: Low confidence (this is a turnoff) or an 'in yo face' kinda gal which for some is a turnoff. Confidence and self belief is attractive to everyone. It makes people like you, gets you more friends and more potential partners and size is…
  • I'd say 'My running has a goal, its helping me lose weight and get fit. How exactly do you plan on fixing your defective personality?'
  • Broken fingers playing basketball Ripped chest muscles on the bench press (hospital thought it was a heart attack so had full xray, ECG and bloods and spent half a day in resusc) lots of twisted ankles from Paintballing (plus the obvious generic welts and bruises on a weekly basis) I dont think I got any kind of injury…
  • I've been lifting weight from the start. I'm on 1800 calories without eating excercise cals back and i'm going for roughly 170g protein. I did weigh 285lbs with 40% BF and now im at 256 with 35%. I think ive got past the point of newbie gains and im sure i've put on a fair bit of newbie muscle. This weight loss is the…
  • You have to find your own balance. I had mine at 1800 for ages and didnt eat back exercise cals. I then upped my calories to 2000 to take into account some of these exercise cals and i maintained. Now i've gone back down to 1800 and with my current exercise level (gym 3 nights, basketball 1 night with weights inbetween) it…
  • I know how you feel there, thats the really important stat. I also went from 40% and now im sitting at 35.8%. I also plot my weekly body fat and weight movement on an excel graph. I've added the zones 'obese, overweight' etc so i can see when im moving out of one zone and into the other and its a great motivator! (i'm…
  • The murder weapon I used to kill some randoms on an internet forum would be embarrasing. Its lucky you cant prosecute the dead though
  • I got it when amazon had it as a free book for a small promotional period. I havent read that much of it but what ive seen so far was good
  • Do you think they consider the effect their comments have on the overweight people they are patronising by loudly stating they believe they are fat? no, probably not. I try to stop protecting other peoples feelings the minute I can see they're not considerate of people around them. Its like in school. I wouldnt consider…
  • A guy on my friendslist swears by them when he needs a quick meal. I personally havent tried them yet but I think I will as I like a hot lunch and work and i usually find i struggle to keep going until dinner.
  • There is a lady on my frends list that lists 20 minutes of 'fun' on a regular basis. To be honest i wouldt want everyone to know each and every time I have sex (both times a year) so i'd just bank those extra calories without recording them. The only thing i'd eat back for those is.....
  • I'd just say 'yeah you are packing a few extra lbs!' that'd stop her from doing it for attention in future
  • i'd wait a few days as air travel can lead you to retain weight. Just do it once a week and weigh in on your regular day as normal and record it on here. If i gain then i still put it on here.
  • I'm sorry but if god didnt want me to eat pigs he wouldnt have made bacon taste so good.
  • Well i'm glad the veggie police are on board. Please dont force your views on others. We like meat, you dont. The original post was asking a legitimate question so there is no need to derail this thread with your hippie ramblings. You wont convert anybody here so please go and graze somewhere else.
  • When i read this post i thought you'd be in the 150-200g region and not at 58! I regularly have over 100g. It helps keep you full for longer, is good for muscle building and recovery and isnt harmful until you get into major high numbers. You may get smellier farts but i'm hoping i'll be safe here in the west midlands. If…
  • Doing a pullup Then doing ten then doing 20 then doing a pullup with weights then doing 10 etc etc :)
  • I normally google the menu first and look for the best choice but sometimes when i'm either having a bad week or celebrating something bigger I will just make sure I offset 2000 cals for that evening with exercise during the week. This makes me feel less guilty! If i dont meet the 2000 (or whatever number i decide) then I…
  • Of course!! There is no race or no definative end deadline you must meet. Every single time you shred a single lb you're taking less stress off your heart, lungs, limbs and mind and thats a positive more. You dont need to lose it straight away you just need to keep the direction the same and not worry about the end point.…
  • Hey dude, i'm getting loads of NSVs but not much overall weight loss! i can see it a bit but not as much as everyone else. I have noticed in clothes, i had to go and buy loads of new tops last week as the old ones looked like tents! Mixture of cardio and heavy weights. I can see the muscles packing on which may explain the…

  • Thats a great NSV. I've posted a couple of clothes related ones which feel good but my secret big goal is to be able to do a full pullup. Believe it or not i havent been able to do one in my whole life and at the moment my strength to weight ratio just isnt there. I keep trying and i'll try the negative ones to see if that…
  • Why dont you let your fitness and training drive you to becoming stronger and less like a victim. Ever seen Jennifer Lopez in the film Enough? thats one chick that can take care of herself in a dangerous situation. Take up a martial arts class. Good fitness and raises self confidence and belief.
  • Thats excellent! I had something similar(ish). We have a site over here called freecycle where people recycle unwanted items by gifting them to other people. I put a 'wanted' ad on there for any gym equipment or free weights and now I have lots of weights, multiple bars, a bench and I got a second hand fitness tower for…
  • Saved yourself some money and ended up happy. Congrats!
